Demos are recorded by an artist/song writer/producer as a package to show to potential recording artists. This way, the artist can survey the arrangements, vocals, etc, and decide if they want to record it for their own albums. So I’m sure the Idol finalists get to hear this demo.. and play off the demo to make it to their own song.
She has a strong voice and can sing IMO. But the sharp tone of her key irritates me. I suppose it’s partly because I am wondering while I am listening to the song why in the world she has recorded this. Its been released recently by Adam and Kris.
Didn’t she make enough money from writing royalties plus appearing on the show? Is it the greed of money or accolades and limelight that’s driving her to release it again?
She got her props on TV for it, so whats up? Simon is the shows resident ham and we don’t need two.
That’s quite an analysis Lee – I never got further than “Nice shirt”
Oh CB…you really makde me laugh on that comment. You are way too funny sometimes. LOL
There is emotion and energy in her version. It is much better to listen to than some wanker just standing there going “blah-blah-blah” with it. This shows that an artist can take a bland song and make it come to life while an ordinary singer can take a living song and make it bland.
I am not crazy about the song but Kara makes it better to listen to. I guess the songwriter has an idea up front what the creation chould come out sounding like.
I could be wrong here, but I think when you write a song and try to sell it, you make a demo so potential artists can hear what it might sound like.
Not sure if she wrote this specifically for Idol, but if so, maybe she did a demo so the final 2 could hear it and get a feel for how they wanted to tweak it. Maybe? Just my thoughts. My point is, I don’t think she “recorded” this in the way that someone would if wanting to have a hit with it.
Her song list says she hasjust “recently recorded it herself “because it has not done that well by others artists and has been dropped by some.. She has not released it for sale as of yet but has videoed it on YouTube and other sites. The purpose seems to be sales imo. But as of yet she is still testing the waters without much success.
I stand corrected. Well, I’m sitting… but you know![/quo
No need for that, it’s just a guess on my part too Joyce..

@ Lee
Just a guess but since it got slammed so hard by Simon and most of the Idol audience and then Kris dropped it from his set she probably wants to try and “redeem” the song.
Of course that is just my idea and I sure could be wrong, by golly.
Makes sense to me, Random. I like her voice, just don’t like the song itself.
I think she sounds great! I like her voice. I still like the song, too. Sure, it’s cheesy, but it sounds good. It’s catchy. I liked Kris’ version, too.
And golly gee willikers, that’s just my opinion.
Yes, she does sound great !
And I LOVED Kris’ version too !

She showed up BG, maybe she thinks she will show up Kris and Adam, I enjoy this song, but like it the best by Kris, she does have a nice voice though.

I got to liking Kris Allen singing this (then again, I like anything he sings) and I thought Kara outsang Bikini Girl on the show. But, this just isn’t appealing at all.

Yeah, I thought Miley Cyrus right off the bat when I started listening to this.
Oh, and I like her version way better than either of the boys’. I think this is a chick song.

Wow, Based on that it turns out she was writing a song for Miley Cyrus but Miley was too smart to book it so she sold it to Idol.
