Tonight the Top 18 perform and the judges eliminate 2 contests. Angie will bring you the play by play after the jump.

Here we go again! Another week with the jidges choosing who goes. Let’s see what happens, shall we? Welcome…to So You Think You Can Dance! Solo dance intros and it’s time for the Top 18! Please welcome your….JIDGES! It’s Adam, Mary, Nigel and the empty Pauler chair.

Nigel tells us that Billy Bell can come back at the top 100 next season and also, Brandon, who was eliminated last week, can come back as well. I guess it’s their show and they can do what ever the H they want, huh?

This week, the dancers are going to tell us the best and worst thing about their partners.

Noelle says the best thing about Russell is his voice and the worst thing is that he always wears his sunglasses. Russell says the best thing about Noelle is she tries to rap with him and the worst thing is she gets injured a lot.

Judges’ Thoughts: (A) You guys did really really well. Fast doesn’t mean big. (M) For me, Russell, you won the match. You did a really good job. (N) It was so fast you didn’t quite get a hold of it.
Angie’s Thoughts: I liked Russell more than Noelle. She sort of hunches her shoulders over and bends her head down a lot and that sort of bothered me. Her cartwheel was odd. She wasn’t quite on it, but still did OK.

Jakob says the worst thing about Ashleigh is her hair because it ‘attacks’ him and the best thing is that she sweats more than anyone he ever met. Ashleigh says the worst thing about Jakob is that he sweats a lot and the best thing is when he mimics bad dancing.

Judges’ Thoughts:(A)You guys can still do no wrong in my book. (M)Jakob, it’s nice to know you aren’t perfect. The dancing could have been better. Use your knees and hips. Ashleigh, I think you are wonderful. You were extremely smooth. (N) Jakob your lines are fantastic. Ashleigh, be careful with your arms. Very strong routine.
Angie’s Thoughts: It started off a little shaky in that Jakob’s steps were about a half beat ahead of Ashleigh but they brought it together quickly. Very pretty choreography. I thought Jakob’s leap looked odd in the middle of the waltz (and Adam agreed with me there) but overall, very good! Two of my favorites.

Victor says the best thing about Bianca is she is so loud. The worst is that her hair changes so much. The best about Victor is his laugh. The worst is his bright clothing.

Dance:Broadway by Tyce to Maybe God Is Trying To Tell You Something from The Color Purple
Judges’ Thoughts: (A) It is very important as a dancer to be studied. You danced it well but that was not the point of this dance. I was overly aware of your dancing but I wanted to see you ‘lose it.’ (OK, Adam…) (M) It was good. It didn’t really go there. I wanted a lot more. (N) The characters weren’t strong enough. You should have taken it somewhere else.
Angie’s Thoughts:I really really liked this Tyce choreo! (for a change) I think they did a great job with it and obviously, I was watching something different than the jidges.

The best thing about Mollee is her big and bright personality. The worst thing is she goes to the bathroom a lot. The best about Nathan is he is attractive. The worst is that Nathan gets distracted easily with himself.

Judges’ Thoughts: (A)You are such an exciting couple. Mollee you are coming into your own. (he didn’t mention Nathan! grr..) (M) It just kept getting better. Outstanding.(she didn’t mention Nathan, either.) (N) It was great. Mollee you are maturing. Nathan…tremendous stuff. Teriffic!
Angie’s Thoughts: LOVE Nathan. Awesome choreo!! Mollee did better than I thought she would, but Nathan was fabulous!

Channing has amazing eyes and the worst thing is she could take Phillip down. The best about Phillip is he always has a smile on his face. The worst is he talks a LOT.

Dance:Samba by Tony and Melanie to Maracatu Funk
Judges’ Thoughts: (A) I could see you guys struggling. I saw some really wonderful interactions. (M) You were struggling. I needed to feel the party and celebrations. Phillip your feet are sloppy. You weren’t really helping Channing. Channing you were coming to life out there. Phillip you let her down. (N) The chemistry didn’t work for me. Tough one for you this week.
Angie’s Thoughts: Channing seemed a bit stiff at times and the lift was awkwardly bad, but I can’t help but like Phillip. Yikes! I think Channing’s head just slammed into the stage at the end!

Kevin is the sweetest thing and the worst thing is his hair. The best thing about Karen is she is beautiful and dynamic. The worst thing is she makes him disappear.

Dance:Hip Hop by Tabitha and Napoleon (love!) to Ice Cream Paint Job by Dorrough
Judges’ Thoughts: (A) Karen.. (he falls out of his chair) Karen you tore that up! Kevin you did great but I expected it. (M) It was hot for sure! Miss thang you are still on the hot tamale train! Kevin you are phenomenal. He’s on the hot tamale train! (N) Karen moves parts of her body that I didn’t know could move.
Angie’s Thoughts:LOVE my Nappy Tabs! Fantastic job for both Kevin and Karen! I feel bad for Kevin because they fawn all over Karen. You can’t tell from the above, but the judges went on and on and on about Karen. Don’t get me wrong, I like her and think she is great, but poor Kevin! Also, that big yellow area in Karen’s outfit was quite unfortunate. You had to see it to understand.

Legacy can speak many languages and the worst is his cricket whistle. The best thing about Kathryn is he can relate to her because she is emotional. The worst is during every rehearsal she beats him down.

Dance:Contemporary by Stacey Tookey to 2 Steps Away by Patti LaBelle
Judges’ Thoughts: (A) There are no words to say how proud I am of you, Legacy. You turned a corner. You were dancing. I am so proud of both of you! (M) It brings the hair up on my arms to see you grow up there, Legacy. I don’t remember someone growing as fast as you. Kathryn you just keep nailing it every week. Nice job. (N) Legacy you have grown. Kathryn, you are going to be around for a long time to come. Very beautiful
Angie’s Thoughts:Great choreo! Legacy was fabulous and his partnering was fantastic! Kathryn dances beautifully. And did you see Legacy jump onto Kathryn? That was awesome! LOVE! Yay!

The best thing about Pauline is she takes lots of pictures. The worst is her obsession with sneakers. The best about Peter is how he treats them all like family. The worst is he thinks he’s a ladies man.

Judges’ Thoughts: (A)It worked. You did a great job. (M) You danced it really well but I don’t think it’s going to take you anywhere. (N) Peter be careful because your shoulders are very tight.
Angie’s Thoughts:How can you NOT. LOVE. WADE??? He is the shizz! Amazing and very Wade-like! Oh man, P & P did a fantastic job with this!! LOVE! Even though there wasn’t a great deal of major dancing..it was just awesome! I obviously, again, loved it more than the jidges. Whatevs. BUT, they kinda got the super special treatment in the background/props department. It was great, but kind of unfair to everyone else. Wade = more.

Ryan always has a protein shake or bar but the best thing is his muscles. Ellenore has a quirky personality and the worst thing is the fact she is not quite normal.

Judges’ Thoughts: (A) Ellenore, you had a stillness and maturity and Ryan your partnering! (M) Ellenore I would not have guessed you are not an Argentine dancer. Ryan, you were totally there for her. The technique was outstanding. Woohooooo! (N) I don’t know another couple this season who could have shown us this dance any better.
Angie’s Thoughts:I always like to watch the Tangos because they are always so steamy. Ryan is fantastic. Ellenore was good but not quite in her element totally. Also? Her dress got stuck in her heel and I felt bad for her.

The four dancers who may go home tonight are…Noelle, Phillip, Victor and Bianca. ( I wouldn’t mind much if Victor and Noelle go.) Solos after the break.

Noelle–Pretty solo but there is something awkward about her.
Victor–Wow, he is a strong dancer! Great solo.
Bianca–Kinda funny to see tap dancing to Tootsee Roll. ha ha Pretty good but not her best. She is so cute.
Phillip–I love his smile! Great tap routine!

After the solos, I think Phillip and Noelle will go. Possible Victor and Noelle. We’ll find out after the break.

Nigel says they are not unanimous with the girls decision. Going home tonight is Bianca! Really?? Bummer. I like BiANNker a lot. Bianca is gracious and tries not to cry too hard.

Now for the guys. Nigel says he is very upset personally and tells Phillip he is going home. Sadness. I liked him! Phillip’s father just passed away and he thanks his fellow dancers for coming to his funeral. He is grateful for the experience of the show. Great guy.
