I thought it entirely fitting for Barbara and Kevin to be the last two standing. An unemployed Appalachian chicken catcher and a cancer survivor with a master’s degree in music. The contrast and comparison couldn’t have been more acute.
I honestly thought all ten finalists deserved to win this time. I was secretly hoping the Texas Tenors could pull it off but they won’t be out of sight for long.
Joyce, Kevin diesn’t have the best voice. What he does is work his butt off for every performance and deliver it with 100% of the passion he possesses. His audition performance just blew me away completely.
“Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” was way outside his comfort zone, too. This is a man who loves what he is doing on that stage.
I don’t know if you heard what he was doing for a living before but he was catching chickens at a Polgrim’s Pride chicken processing plant and had been laid off work for several months.
So we have a winner who is not the most talented nor the best educated. But he can really own a stage and captivate his audience. Keep an eye on him, he will go far.
Ok, you non watchers,,,now go to utube and listen to Barbara Padilla, the 1st runner up…now that is amazing..the Texas Tenors were outstanding, the recycle street drummers were fresh and exciting with unbelievable energy..but give America a country western singer down on his luck and they are hooked…and Susan Boyle was incredible..it was a fab show tonight.
Well here’s the thing. I only heard his finale song, “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”. Maybe he had a better one earlier in the season that you can tell me about and I’ll go listen on YouTube. But judging by that one song I listened to, his voice didn’t sound that great.
I thought (and this is MY OPINION) that Kevin Skinner was AMAZING!!!!!~~~ Sorry, Joyce, but I did. Then again, I’m also a country fan. Lol Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion though. =,P
I didn’t watch AGT this season – or any season for that matter. So I went to YouTube to hear Mr. Skinner. I have to say – and this is MY OPINION, mind you – he sucks. This is who was picked to WIN?? Really??
My day is made. Another nice posting, i love coming back on your site and checking some entertaining content.
Already he’s getting celebrity invites! Go Kevin, I’m jealous!

I really thought Barbara Padilla was going to win. Really.

I don’t like opera very much but Barbara Padilla had me absolutely entranced.

Who’s in the finale?
Who won 2nd? 3rd? I must hear them. Or see whatever their talent was.
