As we all know, sometimes our favorites win & sometimes they don’t. Sometimes the seasons are great & sometimes not-so-hot. What I’d like to do is propose making up your dream finale. Kelly vs Carrie would be my pick. They are my favorite winners. I’ve seen both in concert and both of them have absolutely amazing voices. Watching them for an hour would be the best American Idol show ever
I’m a Kelly – Carrie guy, after those 2 I don’t think any girls should even audition, they are both the best in their genre and whenever I hear a song from another female contestant that either of them did (last season Allison: Alone or Lil: I surrender) I can’t help thinking that was great but it’s just not the same

Clay Aiken vs Adam Lambert: This has nothing to do with their lifestyles. If I recall correctly, Clay was somewhat critical of Adam.
David Cook vs Blake Lewis: Battle of the innovators.
Fantasia vs Taylor Hicks: Tons of movement in this showdown.
Kat McPhee vs David Archuleta: Both seemingly trained their entire lives for Idol.

Mine would be Kelly vs. Carrie. Head-to-head, one fine voice against another. I would be in music heaven for an hour.
Mine would be three separate groups of two.

I’d pay a lot of money to see any of those pairings perform head to head.
I would take a different tact. I would go with Kat McPhee & Carrie Underwood. Those two angelic voices would be just great, both individually & in a duet. Scr*w Ford, get it sponsored by Victoria’s Secret or some such company.
David Cook and Fantasia Barrino.
They are such opposites in their singing style and performances but each domiantes in their own right.
