Love this girl! She sounds so great, that I already burned out her CD, playing it over and over when driving.YEY! Allison!
I had such high hopes for this girl. She is one of the most talented singers to ever come out of Idol… and yet I have to say this album is highly disappointing. They managed to take a great ROCK singer with a punk edge, and turn her into yet another watered down teeny-bopper pop star. The lyrics for the most part are inane (I’m sorry, but how pretictable can you get, writing about “texting” to attract a teen audience), the music rehashed from countelss other teen singers… with one exception. The track HOLIDAY is very good. It has that hard edge to it that I fell in love with during her idol stint.
Allison, I think you are awesomely talented, and I sincerly hope that as you grow in your career you are able to make your own choices for your style and content of your albums because this one has corperate tyranny written all over it.
Damn that girl can sing. The acoustic version of ‘Don’t Waste the Pretty’ blew me away. I still can’t believe she’s only seventeen.

Last season of AI, my family were huge fans of Adam and Allison. We’ve purchased Adam’s album and love it, but I’ve gotta say, Allison’s is something else! I love the way the songs capture her voice. It’s smooth, soulful and surrounds the listener like liquid chocolate (not hidden at all by electronics). Favorite songs (so far): Don’t Waste the Pretty, Scars, No One Else. The first two, in particular, are just amazing. A+ for Allison!
Great Album! Liked almost all the songs … in fact liked them all excet ‘Friday I’ll Be Over U’. Not a bad song just not my type. Allison sounds like a combination of Suzi Quatro, Janis Joplin & Kim Carnes. Fantastic voice!
This album rocks. Already pre-ordered it, can’t wait for Tuesday! I think she’s going to do really well with this album. Glad she kept her pop-rock sound.

I have been listening to Scars and Don’t Waste the Pretty too much! I love these songs. I am really happy to see so many positive comments. I really hope Allison can pick up new fans because she is going to need them to sell enough albums. I want her to have a long successful career. Also, I am going to want another album :biggrin:

This is hands down the better album compared to Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.
Congrats Allison and Jive for this well done recording. Less intrumentration, strong Allison voice and excellent beat/tempo.

I just heard an acoustic version of “Don’t wast the Pretty” that Allison did for a radio show. WOW!!!! I love the version of the cd but the acoustic version blew me away. It really gave you a chance to hear her and not all the background. This girl has a got real talent.

Thank goodness they let Allison’s outstanding voice shine on most of her songs. They need to seriously promote this album. I also agree with Allison’s mom. Allison is going to be a big star.
I’m from London England. Little Allison has gone international: America, Australia, Britan, fans everywhere. I pre-ordered this album, still waiting for it to come so this was a special treat. I’m 50 and I can feel Suzi Quatro’s vibe but with a much more powerfull voice. Well done, girl. It was a pleasure to listen to your 1st album. Looking forward to many more great songs done by you

Yes, Melissa Etheridge and Bonnie Raitt, with a heavy dose of Patty Smythe. I was expecting her to get the pop princess treatment, but I’m loving that her rock side is shining through. I’m pleasantly surprised, and kinda loving this, especially the bluesier songs.

I like it. With the exception of Beat Me Up, I think the album really picks up starting with Holiday. The previous songs aren’t bad, but they don’t grab me as much as the later ones.
This album is better then Kris’, but she won’t outsell Adam or Kris. Allison has less visiblity then Kris and his sales were hella low. Her market with this album is teens and its smart. I hope she gets the promo this album deserves

I am so happy for Allison. She did a great job with her album….the songs are not “bubble gum pop” that we hear nowadays.

I don’t get the ‘in your face’ kind of thing..the Adam is outselling Kris and Allison should outsell Kris..etc. I hope they all do well! Yes, even **I** am happy when the ones I don’t like from Idol do well. For example, I could barely stand Pickler but I love that she is doing well. I am always happy when former Idol contestants continue to work in the business, even if they aren’t playing daily on mainstream radio. For me, that is what the show is all about. It opens up so many doors.

This CD is amazing. Every song is WIN. Its pure Allison from start to finish. The quality of her voice is fantastic and the emotion she puts into every song is quite astounding. Buy it!
Its a decent album debut. Out of Kris, Adam, and her its my second favorite after Adam’s. They are targeting the teen market so we’ll see how it does!

just love the whole album. one of the best complete albums in a long long time. Honestly this is what is expected out the winner of American Idol. This blows Adam and Kris out of the water. I would love it to outsell both of them but it won’t just because she didn’t win.
WOW!!! Hard to believe this girl is only 17! She sings with such passion and maturity in each song. I pre-ordered the deluxe version to hear the Daughtry song as well. I don’t want to miss any of this girl’s songs. Rock on Allison!!!

Beautiful, just beautiful! Every track is memorable, even FIBOU I’ve grown to like. Very cohesive collection of songs. Best Idol debut album by a mile!
