Yes it is true as was pointed out in the shoutbox this afternoon, Amanda Overmyer was in fact arrested in 2006 for DUI. After being nailed near her hometown of Mulberry, Indiana, Amanda blew a 0.108 and spent six hours in the Montgomery County Jail before her fiancé posted her bail.
Amanda plead guilty to the DUI and received a suspended sentence of 60 days and was placed on 180 days probation, which ended in August 2007.

IMO It is not a mistake to get behind the wheel of a car after drinking, prior to drinking (sober) she knew she had keys to a car and was going to drive home. As a nurse she knew what might of happened (sober) to life doing such an act.
As far as her voice goes, just don’t care for it. That is why there are so many choices in music. We all have different tastes, here at Slim’s IdolBlogLive we are all given the opportunity to express those opinions. :em47:

She is the one of the only truly original people and singers to go on Idol in a long time.
DUI is a serious offense but people make mistakes. Give her a break.. she rules as a cool biker/nurse, rock and roll queen.

Doesn’t threaten her status at all. I am sure she told the producers about it during her audition. But it would be nice to replace her with Alaina
