[note] MIDVALE, Utah – The father of American Idol runner-up David Archuleta was charged for allegedly soliciting a prostitute. On January 14, Midvale, Utah police raided a Reiki Massage parlor at 7350 South State Street on the basis that the parlor did not have a business license. Once inside, they identified that prostitution was taking place and there was one client receiving the services.
Inside they found a female masseuse and a male client. At that point, Midvale Police say an interview took place and the male client admitted to receiving sexual gratification from the female masseuse.
According to court documents, that one client was 47-year-old James Jeffrey Archuleta, the father of American Idol contestant David Archuleta. He was cited with a Class B misdemeanor, soliciting prostitution and was fined $582. Court documents say Archuleta waived his right to counsel and entered a six month plea in abeyance.
James Archuleta’s attorney Eric Bauer said Archuleta never had sex or sexual contact with his masseuse. He also said it was the first time Archuleta had ever been to the establishment. He was there for a back problem. He pled no contest to the incident and is trying and put it behind him. Archuleta’s attorney said he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.[/note]

“Jon and Kate” or the “Real Housewives” don’t seem to try and attack others the way that Perez does. He seems to attack with the purpose of destroying another persons life. It’s too bad that some find him even remotely interesting or that some have such boring life’s and are so curious about a celebrity that they would be that hungry for the crap that spews from his mouth.

yes he is loatheable (is that anything that resembles a word?) but he is a function of the times. He doesn’t exist without “the people” (us) wanting to know everything about anyone who is even tangentily connected to celebrity. He certainly is no worse then “Jon and Kate” or the “Real Housewives of Anywhere, USA”. And as long as what he publishes bears some relationship to the truth (or as in this case is true) he will continue to fly free – as he should. He will go away when our appetite for his cooking goes away.
Just read he pleaded no contest. The article says if he “avoids repeating the crime by the end of this month, it will be removed from his record.” Odd.

This information is reported from official courthouse documents, I have to believe its true. The documents state he admitted to police to receiving sexual gratification. Then his attorney denies that he did. That’s a lawyers job to lie and get you off. He pleads no contest which admits neither guilt nor innocence. I doubt the story is fabricated because we all know James Archuleta would jump on a slander lawsuit and so do the reporters that published this story. This seems to far out to be a lie. I only hope that he has learned an important lesson and is humbled from this experience. The price of fame is costly and needs to be taken in stride. We just read David earned 1.3 million dollars this year and his Father played a big part in that I’m sure. But the pressure needs to be handled openly inside the family which is easier said then done. I hope James works with his family to find questions, answers, and solutions. And is able to move forward from this disaster. I would guess Mrs. Archuleta is suffering the most.

Happens every day, but there are a few that just live for crap about David A even 2 years later. To their dismay it isn’t about David, but his Father so they will jump on it anyway, even if it may not be true .
