The Daily Beast has learned that no one from American Idol has in fact contacted Howard Stern about replacing Simon Cowell as judge on Idol.
Howard Stern will not be replacing Simon Cowell, according to American Idol insiders. This week the Idol nation buzzed with the possibility, first mentioned in The New York Post. The rumor was propelled by Stern on his radio show yesterday when he said, “It might be possible, we’ll see.”
There is, however, less to the story than meets the eye. Two Idol insiders told The Daily Beast that no offer has been made to Stern, and that in fact, with the new season just beginning, the show is months away from choosing a replacement for Cowell. A source familiar with the search process says Stern was never even being considered.
If radio shock jock Howard Stern landed himself in Simon’s chair as the newest American Idol judge for Season 10 would you continue to watch or cash in your chips. Leave your vote below and any thoughts in a comment.
MJ over at mjsbigblog is reporting that the NY Post has said that Radio Shock Jock Howard Stern is at the top of AI’s list as Simon Cowell’s replacement.
“American Idol” producers are eager to hire Howard Stern to replace Simon Cowell as the show’s tough-talking judge, sources tell Page Six.
An insider said that producers of the hit Fox show say Stern, America’s highest-paid radio personality, is their top choice to take over from Cowell, who leaves at the end of this season. They approached the King of All Media after he repeatedly mentioned on-air that his exclusive Sirius XM Radio deal expires next January and he was open to other offers. Cowell was paid $50 million a year.
Oh dear, could this be true? I would assume if the NY Post is reporting this it should have some credibility. I feel I could believe them over someone like TMZ. What are your thoughts? Leave a comment.
