People have been asking what shows I will be covering on the blog this fall and last night I went through the TV schedule and made up my mind. Leave your thoughts and any other shows you would like me to cover on the blog this fall.
I am out of town until late Sunday night. I am flying to Des Moines, Iowa at 6AM EST on Friday with my mom and brother. We are bringing my great grandma to NY to live. My mom is flying her back on Saturday and my brother and I are driving the U-haul home. Total Travel Estimate: 16 hours 24 minutes / 1015.67 miles. Boy I can’t wait. If there is anyone between Iowa and NY on my route I will beep when I drive by. See you all Sunday night.

Social Networks are the wave of now and the future and I have made a few more changes over the past couple of days to help drive more traffic to the blog using some of the more popular Social Networking Communities. Most of these updates were to streamline the login and commenting process which will make things easier for you guys as well as help give you the tools to share any of your favorite posts on the web.
I still have one big challenge ahead of me. I want all comments made on Facebook to import back to the blog. It can be done but I haven’t been able to get it to work yet. It is a future option I will continue to work on.

I apologize for the lack of posts since American Idol has ended. I have been taking a small break from the daily grind of the blog. Updates will be coming more and more over the next few days. I just need to get off Farmville long enough to scour the net for news.
The addition of idolbloglive to facebook is complete. This was a 2 fold project and here are the details.

Simply a facebook fan page. Every post made on the blog will post to the wall of the fan page. You are welcome to comment and post anything to the wall of the fanpage. Note that nothing you post to the wall will be posted back to the blog.

This is a simple facebook application that will allow you to read and respond to any blog entry via facebook. Note that any comments you leave via the application will appear on the blog and will include your facebook name.
All blog posts will also post directly to my personal wall on facebook.
Update : Site seems to be loading much better now (4:41PM EST 3/4/10)
Some people (myself included) are experiencing some serious loading issues when trying to reach the site. We are looking into the situation but it appears to be one of the backbones going into my data center. I have also viewed some other sites that I know are hosted in the same data center and they appear to be loading slowly too.
We are hoping this situation will work itself out before results otherwise it will be a long night. If you are able to comment let me know how the blog is loading for you.
Season 9 is right around the corner and before we know it we will all be gathering in the shoutbox picking our favorites. Every season brings change to the format of the show and changes to the format of the blog.

Update : 12/17/09 We are very busy with the move right now. I won’t be on much at all till Monday 12/21/09.
Updates to the blog will be a little slow till after Christmas as Milissa, Gracie and myself are trying like hell to get into our new place and we are very behind. I promise once Christmas is over and the the move is complete (fingers crossed) that I will be back on track. If any mods see any news worthy stuff please feel free to post it. I haven’t done one of these in quite awhile and I figured it was time to throw some of the new directions I will going with the blog along with some of the changes I plan on implementing,
First of all thanks to my wonderful hosts, iMountain Hosting. Without them the blog would have been closed a long time ago. I am happy to announce that because of them we are on a brand new quad core dedicated server with 4GB of RAM. That along with all the tweaks and offloading we have setup will almost guarantee that we will have very few blog issues in the future. Should we have a server issue, most of you know that I have a backup server that kicks in automatically and brings you an update page along with the shoutbox. This keeps everyone in the loop should my server explode.
I know a lot of you guys and gals use Twitter so I installed a plugin that will easily allow you to tweet any of my posts on Twitter. When you view a post you will see a (Tweet This Post) button before the comments section. Simply click it and tweet my post. Any tweeting is greatly appreciated. Maybe this will help me get 200 followers.
