Astro Signs With Epic Records
Chris Rene signed with Epic Records the other day and now Astro has signed on as well.
Former “X Factor” contestant Astro, who locked horns with show creator Simon Cowell, has inked a record deal with Epic, the Daily News has learned.
“It’s amazing. It feels great,” the 15-year-old Brooklyn rap phenom said.
“It’s like a dream. . . . I can finally say I’m working on my album.”
It’s no coincidence that the chairman and CEO of Epic Records is L.A. Reid, one of the judges on the show. Reid served as Astro’s mentor on the show.
Astro, whose real name is Brian Bradley, made it to the top 10 of the popular Fox television talent show — and not without clashing with Cowell.
Astro, who was among the final seven contestants, drew flak for his cocky attitude.

Chris Rene Signs With Epic Records
Third place season 1 X Factor contestant is the latest person to score a record deal. This should be an awesome record and I can’t wait for it to release.
American Idol semi-finalists aren’t the only ones getting record deals these days.
Chris Rene, X Factor’s third-place finisher last season, has just told EW exclusively that he’ll be officially signing to Epic Records.
“I’ve dreamt about this moment my whole life,” says Rene. “And now its here. Working with L.A. Reid — ‘Big Homie’ – is a dream come true; he’s a great man,” Rene continued, referring to his X Factor mentor, who also helms the label.
Melanie Amaro Signs With Epic Records
X Factor season 1 winner Melanie Amaro has officially signed with LA Reid and Epic Records.
X Factor first-season winner Melanie Amaro has been signed to a recording contract with Epic Records. Her new home at Epic puts her under the leadership of legendary music executive and X Factor judge Antonio “L.A.” Reid. As part of being crowned the winner of Fox’s talent competition, Amaro, 19, received a $5 million recording contract and will star in a Pepsi commercial.
