@ Dean, I agree,,that is why the singers this year are not very versatile, they all sound alike..the judges get in a rut and don’t realize that it might be time for a new sound. I really believe the judges can manipulate a great many votes…enough to count..but at the same time, it is up to the performers to have it all and be well rounded,,a beautiful, clear, natural voice will not always have the rest to go with it to make it to the top..and really, the one’s that have not won have done extremely well too.. Let’s hope our favorites do well this year..
Well, I was primarily talking about the judges (especially Simon) who seemed to have a personal vendetta against the excellent Anwar because Anwar sang in a traditional style.

maybe this blog needs to lighten up at times…in all fairness to Dean,,I think he was calling “dolt’s” to voters in general, not specifically the ones on this blog.. seems we have all said worse in past comments and not hurt any-one’s feelings..sometimes, we scare new commenter’s away being a ‘little too strict with the rules’… Dean didn’t hurt my feelings in the least…and besides, I don’t even know what a Dolt is???? Maybe it’s a flower!

Umm, Dean, just because some people don’t feel the same way you do about your favorites, doesn’t make them “dolts”. We do try to be nice here, even in our own “assessments” of various contestants, we try to be respectful (ish)! :cool:
Good, Anna–get everyone you know to do the same. I :biggrin: would love to see a “classy not trashy” Idol winner. I was in the past only this enthusiastic about Anwar (another one butchered by dolts because of the purity of his sound).
Dean – I guess we’re in the minority here but I also voted for Katie last night.. 750 times. I love her voice and it’s good to know that I’m not the only one who sees that she’s incredibly talented. I hope our votes help put her through tonight! :)
Angie I voted over 400 tims for Katie last night–stayed up til midnight, and had only a few hrs sleep before getting up for work. Wanting a singer of her style and elegance to win Idol has become a “cause” for me, and I’m recruiting new people every week to join me.
I had complete faith in dialidol untill last year when it started missing the go homes by a mile. I’m not sure about the different methods it uses to gage or calculate votes, but I don’t think it is a true reflection of the voting anymore. I hope it can be fixed because it was great. :smile:
