Here are the DialIdol predictions for tonights results show.

DJSlim’s Top 2 – Melinda Doolittle, Jordin Sparks
DJSlim’s Bottom 4 – Sanjaya, Phil Stacey, Lakisha, Blake Lewis
DJSlim’s Pick to Go Home – The odds are Phil, could be Lakisha, should be Sanjaya.
Are there any shocks to the DialIdol predictions? Leave a comment with your thoughts. Remember DialIdol doesn’t take into account any of the text votes so anything could still happen just as it has the past couple of weeks. Don’t forget the official results are tonight at 9pm EST and will be blogged live by Angie.

Dial Idol was 100% correct this week !!!!!!
Who cares what I think, but my prediction for bottom three is LaKisha, Phil and Chris, with Chris going home.
If I were Idol King, however, Sanjaya would already be home, Gina would be in the Top 7, the Bottom 3 would be Phil, Blake, and Chris, and Phil would be going home for overall season performance (although Chris and Blake underperformed him last night).
DialIdol is wacky this season for some reason. There’s no way Phil received that many votes. I expect he will be in the bottom three again this week.
Well, Sanjay is different that is for sure. However, American Idol is a singing contest, if you are fortunate enought to be a triple threat then you have what it takes to be an American Idol. ( Triple threat: Voice with voice being first, Looks, Personality) Otherwise it would be best if you stuck to contest like America’s Got Talent. I have nothing against Sanjaya, he seems like a nice kid, but he just doesn’t have a good enough voice. Maybe with some coaching and lessons he might have what it takes in a few years. Right now, all he is doing is having fun in the moment, as he is a kid. Unfortunatly, he is beginning to look the fool. :em42:
What’s strange is that whether Sanjaya stays or goes home, either scenario will be shocking. I think he’s great for the show, and he has more originality, more personality, and more courage than anyone else. Great vocals shouldn’t be the criteria for the next American idol. There are a lot of great vocalists in this world who will never earn a dollar. I like Sanjaya and so do a lot of other people. The bottom line is that the kid is simply appealing, which I can’t say for the other contestants on the show.
Also, I don’t think one good performance is going to save Phil, just as one bad performance isn’t going to doom Lakisha. Tonight Chris will probably go home.
I totally agree with everything in this comment. Though i thin k it should be lakisha, blake, and chris in the bottom, and chris going home…. but who knows…. I like Sanjaya as well… hes new and original, and different… which you need that to be an idol as well…. if you have the likability factor, personality, and everything he has, hell…. they can fix his voice in the studio as they do/have for stars like britney spears and shania twain…. theyre beautiful, but need fixing on the vocals…. sanjaya’s the same… has the voice to work with and fix where it needs fxin, what’ll make him a star is just being sanjaya!!!! Go all the way man, we love ya!!!
I hope the dial idol results are correct because Phil was awesome last night and sanjaya should be the one leave. Chris and Lakisha are also in danger of leaving I think. Melinda and Jordin were the best as usual. :em20:
i knew jordan would bring the freaking house down when i heard she was singing “broken wing”. i had tears. shivers, and goosebumps. i also believe sanjaya deliberately tried to get himself voted off! that song wasnt country, and his vocal was embarassing. i put his performance right up there with william hung’s stirring rendition of “she bangs”. sanjaya comitted sanjayacide to end the joke that even he realizes is being played on him and the idol fans. but i think it will be lakisha who goes tonite in a repeat of the mandisa backlash!
Rob,
I believe you are right about poor Simon! I think he will be okay tho – Sanjaya has to be at least in the bottom 3. Doubt he will be sent home darn it! Oh well – I keep on Idoling and I won’t starve myself either way! (should – could stand to lose quite a few pounds!)

This is how my class voted for last nights performances:
Jordan
Melinda
Blake
Chris
Phil
LaKeisha
Sanjaya
This is the first time, I think, that my thoughts and their votes are the same :em49:
While DialIdol may not always be accurate, this is the first week that Mumblelyia has been firmly planted at the bottom of the food chain, so I think he is undoubetly in the bottom three. I believe that Blake may be the one incorrectly placed by DI, and since Shyamali’s little brother is a full point behind Kiki, I think he is in fact headed to LAX tonight.
One reason that there are four guys and three girls left in this competition is because two of the girls are gone while Stumblelyia is still here and, until last night, Phil probably should have been gone. Gina and Stephanie should probably just now be finding their way into the bottom three while Mowgli and Phil are watching from home. Even Haley had more talent than “Jungle Book Boy.” What Sanjambalyia needed was a vocal coach and a couple of more years of real experience. He’s simply not ready for the big show.
I think if Sanjaya isn’t in the bottom 3 tonight, Simon may have an anorism. :em41:
I THOUGHT JOURDIN SPARKS WAS TERRIFIC! SHE BLEW MY SOCKS OFF. I VOTE FOR HER EVERY WEEK,AND I ALWAYS WILL VOTE FOR HER.
GO JOURIDIN
GO !!!!!! :em23:
I like Jordin too. She has a great voice and seems like a regular kid.
Country? Bonnie Raitt? Who would think? Well I hope this is it for Sanjaya – He seems to be a nice enough kid, but there have been a few that actually could have had a shot – like Sabrina and Chris S. They were so much better it is a shame. I think the bottom three will be Chris, Sanjaya and Lakisha. I would like to say Sanjaya will be leaving, but I really don’t think so – he brings to much attention to American Idol – so I predict it will be Chris. The way things have gone this year tho – I have been wrong every week on my prediction of who would be leaving. I didn’t care for Haley, but really thought Phil would leave – silly me. I am so glad he didn’t – he was awesome last night and I love his attitude! Jordin is my Fav – but I have to say my family and I vote each week for the one that we thought did the best. It is a fun family night watching and then seeing who gets to go home. Happy Idoling!!
Alrighty Then – I must agree with Simon that the fun should be over for Mr Sanjaya. He is not an american idol! I really love Jordan and think she really has a good chance of being our next American Idol. Melinda is in a ballpark all by herself and I really don’t think she needs American Idol to make it big. I don’t care for Chris and Phil is just a-okay with his best performance taking place last night. Lakisha is surely losing ground, but I still think she will be back for a few more weeks. I believe it should be Sanjaya leaving, but would almost bet it will be Chris. Have a Great Day and keep on American Idoling!
Penny asked, “Do you actually think Chris was using the Va Tech shootings to get attention for himself?”
If Chris had always intended for his shout out to VA Tech, he would have done so before his performance, not right after he got chewed out by Simon. He could have asked the producers for a few seconds before his performance to allow him to do so. Instead, he hastily tacked it on right after his grilling.
Equally guilty are the judges themselves, who obviously never had any intent on speaking out about VA Tech until Chris made his shout out. Simon’s comment was awkward and spontaneous.
Dang keyboard. I meant to type “hope” not “hop”. :em56:
There may yet be hope. Dialidol isn’t very accurate this season but we must cling to whatever hope is available.O_o
I THOUGHT JOURDIN SPARKS WAS TERRIFIC! SHE BLEW MY SOCKS OFF. I VOTE FOR HER EVERY WEEK,AND I ALWAYS WILL VOTE FOR HER. GO JOURIDIN GO !!!!!! :em23:
I was so glad to finally hear one of the judges say it truthfully about Sanjaya! Simon said “okay this was cute at first, but lets get real about who should stay and who should, Sanjaya be going” Didn’t like Chris or Blake’s performance, Phil finally had a great performance and seemed really relaxed! Go Medo!!!
I think you’re right, Sanjaya should be the one that goes home but i dont think he’s going to go.
hey you guys should check this out: davedellaterza.com
It will SERIOUSLY crack you up
Phil can’t finish under 3rd according to dial idol which basically assures him to be safe. That means we will have 1 to 2 newbies in the bottom 3. Based on performance it should be Sanjaya, Blake, and Chris with Chris going home. However I do think it will be Sanjaya in a surprise. Chris didn’t say what he said to get sympathy votes, but that is certainly a result of it, you can not deny that. He was aweful in every sense and based on previous voting the second lowest contestant behind Phil. Considering Phil was the best last night, it’s not surprising to see him be safe….like Bucky last year…don’t be surprised to see Lakisha safe again regardless of her dial idol #’s…
It’s a tough call…..but for all you Idol fans I just did a new piece called American Idols of My Hood.
You can see it here:

Can’t wait for tonite!
i thought Jordin did a tremendous job…she and sanjaya are both 17, and vocally, worlds apart…
phil did a better job, but i still dont like him.
i thought chris’s song was all over the board, maybe it was the arrangement, but i dont think he did well…
my bottom two…. phil and lakisha
should be sanjaya… but … nuff said
I know this is off topic a bit.. but I need to just say it somewhere.
I have been surfing around getting a look at everyone’s feelings about last nights show… and I have to say I am a bit sickened by people suggesting that Chris’ shout out to Va Tech was some ploy for sympathy votes on his part. The guy has roots in Va… it would have been more strange to me if he hadn’t said it. As far as it being ill timed its not like they have much time to say what they want to say. If anything I would think people would be more in a tizzy over Simons eye roll… ( I don’t think Simon meant disrespect to Va Tech… just that he was already irritated by Chris talking back to him and informing him that nasally singing was a style)
I also have to wonder if Chris’ hurt over the whole thing effected him…. I really think he could have done better with country week… I don’t think the song choice was great… but he could have done better… he seemed disconnected… his mind may very well have been elsewhere.
What about you guys? Do you actually think Chris was using the Va Tech shootings to get attention for himself? Do you think its possible it made his performance worse than it would have been otherwise? What about Simons ill timed eye roll… and his feeble attempt at fixing that situation?
Until last night, I thought Phil would be going home. He was by far the best last night. He really should stick to Country Western singing, since that seems to be the best he sings. I actually enjoyed his singing last night. I think Dial Idol was more acurate this week. My top three for THIS week are Phil, Jordin and Melinda. My bottom three are Sanjaya, Lakisha and Chris. Hopefully ( AGAIN) Sanjaya will go home this week. He was AWFUL as usual. And his goofy hair was AWFUL too. :em52:
Enough is Enough! If American Idol is to be saved and respected in the years to come, then Sanjaya MUST GO!
While Dialidol hasn’t been spot on this year so far, there is at least some satidfaction that Sanjaya shows up in the bottom position for once. We can hope….
I replayed the performances last night, and Phill sounded really great last night. Looked comfortable too, maybe he’s found his genre for the future.
:em02: Finally, our national nightmare may come to an end. :em02:
While I think Chris (nasally is a form of singing) should also be in the bottom three, at least the right person is on the bottom of the pile. :em72:
I thought Blake just sounded a little tired last night.
I am not suprised to see Lakisha there. I think she is steadily losing ground to Jordin and Melinda. I believe Jordin picked up virtually all of Haley’s fans and even a few Dolittle supporters have switched.
wow… while these were the three I said I liked the best last night, it shocks me to see Phil at the top…. Shocks in a good way, now that he’s come out of the country closet Im liking him a lil better…
Either way since Dial Idol hasnt been dead on this year.. tonight should be interesting.
