Angie, you say “Dialidol is such hooey” but its no more hooey than your choices. How you (or anyone) could claim that Ramiele was good (6 out of 10?) is beyond me. She was offkey and out of tune with the band, and she even hesitated once or twice. Her performance was terrible, as bad as I’ve ever seen on Idol at this late a stage.

She certainly a better singer then what she showed last night, but if your voting on the latest performance (and not biased by personal choices) – she the one that deserves to go.

Amanda doesn’t appear very outgoing. RAther, more reserved and laid back. Even with a huge kudo from Simon, she barely cracked a smile. Oh well, maybe the spotlight embarrasses her. She does have a cute smile. I just wish she’d do something out of her comfort zone….like a soft ballad.

I love your avatar!!! Great looking pup.

  4. Anne

It WAS weird. Most of the contestants practically fall over when Simon gives them a compliment (and truthfully, who wouldn’t?). Still doesn’t stop him from coming over as seriously smug about it! IMHO.

  5. ABB

Umm, yeah, but she was so studiously staring the judges down that no emotion was showing at all. Not even the glimmer of a smile until then. That was a little weird. This is not the place to be all doom and gloom – they are saying good things, no criticism at all. Just weird.

  6. Anne

Since Amanda is the current topic – couldn’t you just hear the odious smugness of Simon last night, saying “Amanda – it’s ok, you CAN smile” just because he was praising her!! It’s like because the other two are so daft anything Simon says must be Gospel. Argh!
Simon – it’s ok, you CAN display human characteristics occasionally!

Amanda will make the top 12, but she can’t possibly go much beyond that. Her voice limits her to one or two genres, and anything she sings outside of those would sound really freaky. Yes, she can sing Jopin, et.al…but she’s going to eventually crash and burn on an upcoming theme night.

  8. Joy

I am coming out of lurkdom to say that I also will go against the grain and say I like Amanda. I think she is unique and if she sticks to stuff that suits her, it will go well. Of course, I am an old fogie and maybe that is why I like her “bluesy rocker” voice. :em21:

I really hope Kady goes, she has the personality of a dishrag and frankly, the past few weeks she has been singing way off key. Other than that, I think they are all pretty good.

  9. Jim

Except for Kady (who I hope gets the boot tonight) I enjoy all of the women. I even like Amanda. She just needs some help selecting the right songs for her voice/style. You have to admit she is entertaining, and what is more important – being entertained by a less-than-perfect voice or listening to a good but boring performance (see Ramiele).

Oh Hooey to all you Amanda haters! For the first time this season I feel I must comment! LOL! I knew it would come sooner or later….
Since EVERYONE seems to hate Amanda, I will take the path less trod and come to her defence. I think she is unique and I think her voice is just untrained. She does have the same Janis Joplin-Kim Carnes-Melissa Ethreridge vibe going on and she should stick to those types of songs. After listening to everyone b**ch and moan for the last few years about how boring the contestants are, I would think we’d welcome this change!
I imagine if no one knew who Janis Joplin was, and sans the legend she appeared on idol you’d all call her a freak and say she couldn’t sing!
I can’t wait to see how she evolves.
I do like Brooke, but those of you saying Amanda has no personality while going on about Brooke need to readjust. LOL.
    GO AMANDA!!!
Thus the pot has been stirred…..discuss.

Hooey is a good word. Very descriptive. I just hope they are right about Brooke. My wife and I think she is terrific.

Amanda on the other hand has all the personality of a crack addict. Just about that much voice, too. I put her in the same category as John McCain – they could both do the country a favor by just disappearing!

  12. Bon

I like Amanda, I think…. but last week’s awful performance proved that there is a narrow band of music she CAN sing, and she dassn’t (is that really a word?) vary from it. This week’s performance was back in her range.

Her character/personality are so way off from the other contestants. She looks and acts the same whether she’s being praised to high heaven or shredded by the judges. She doesn’t seem to much care if she makes it or not. Amanda among the rest of the singers is like Brad Garrett being a Mousketeer. Or Eeyore at a Tigger family reunion.

LOL. I’m also anti-Amanda, although, she seemed to perform good enough to get high praises from all three judges Wednesday night. We’ll see the results tonight, but I really think I’ll be hearing her on tour this fall :em43:

    Going home: Kady, Asiah

  15. Amanda reminds me of a 40 year old woman who smokes a carton a day.

  16. I’ve decided why I don’t like Amanda, besides the fact that I don’t think she can really change-up anything she sings. She really has ZERO personality.

    I am so…judgemental when Idol is on..but man it’s fun! :em62:

  17. Dialidol is such hooey.

  18. tim.m

Too bad they can’t kick off four boys tonight. Cheezy, Danny, Michael and Luke.
Luke sealed his fate for singing an awful rendition of that awful techno-pop club song by that awful pop duo Wham. Be serious, contestants. THINK BEFORE YOU CHOOSE! :em12:

  19. tim.m

I really think Kady has improved, but too little too late. Kady and Asiah are vunerable tonight. I wasn’t impressed with my ex-favorite Ramiele’s performance, but I think she’ll make the top 12.
Carly is now my favorite vocalist.

  20. rachel

Brooke and Carly are my favorites. I also like Kristy.
I think Asia’h and Ramiele should be going home tonight.
I think Amanda is HORRIBLE. I don’t know why the judges love her so much. I can’t imagine that her albums would be a hot seller.
Eleven more hours until the “verdict” !

  21. I really like Kady Malloy. I hope this is inaccurate.

  22. ABB

Should be an interesting results night. Out of both nights, only Luke seems to be a definite choice to go.

  23. Glamourpuss

Really enjoyed the show last night. Carly is my fav and it will be hard to pick the two to go home.

  24. tmq800

Tell me this is a joke. The girls are neck and neck in the DialIdol rankings. Like Simon said, no one is safe. Super shocker tomorrow!!

  25. gt88

I like both brooke and carly :-)

  26. tim.m

Looks like Brooke is winning a bigger audience each week. I wasn’t overly impressed with her rendition tonight, but it was error-free and very easy listening. What I like most about Brooke is her girl-next-door personality. She seems so sincere.

  27. tmq800

What’s wrong with DialIdol? This is too close to call.

  28. tim.m

The results don’t surprise me at all. Carly has evolved into the strongest singer right now, and the judges and voters have been echoing that sentiment.
