Name : Asia’h Epperson (1-866-IDOLS-01)
Song Title : I Wanna Dance With Somebody
Judges Thoughts : (R) It was a tall order but thats the reason we got you here. That was hot. (P) Your picking big songs but even when you were sick you nailed it. (S) At best it was second rate Whitney. You couldn’t hit the big note at the end.
Slim’s Thoughts : Rehearsal rumors were Asia’h had the best performance. It was good, fun but I was still left looking for more. Should secure her for Top 12. Score 20/25
Song Title : Who Wants To Live Forever
Judges Thoughts : (R) Very interesting song choice. I think you did a pretty good job. You hit the big notes really well. It was pretty good. (P) This was your best performance. I think the tenderness of your voice is where the magic is. (S) It was better than last week. I am still having issues with your massive lack of personality. Your singing is gloomy. You may be in trouble.
Slim’s Thoughts : Kady needed to pull a rabbit out of her ass tonight in order to make Top 12 and I am not sure if she did it. I want her to stay but I am fully expecting her to be standing on the tarmac tomorrow night. Score 18/25
Song Title : Hate Myself For Loving You
Judges Thoughts : (R) Thats the Amanda we love. Well done. (P) Your face is beautiful, I like your hair. You found your niche. We are in love with you. (S) I thought it was fantastic. That was the perfect song for you. It was my favorite girl performance from this part of the competition.
Slim’s Thoughts : Pack your bags, you are finally going home. I don’t care what Simon says. Score 10/25
Song Title : I Drove All Night
Judges Thoughts : (R) You keep smashing it every week. Very very good, dude another great performance. (P) You are like a dependable dog. You are totally into your niche. (S) Once again you didn’t pick the right song. I just didn’t like it but you made the most out of it. It doesn’t give you what you deserve.
Slim’s Thoughts : Best of the night so far. Amazing vocal. Carly is destined for the Top 4. Score 22/25
Song Title : Faithfully
Judges Thoughts : (R) Great song. You put a country thing to it and it could be a big country single. (P) That could be a hit for you in country music. You look great tonight. (S) I think it was good we heard a country influence. I still think though that you are forgettable. At best I can see you coming in 10th.
Slim’s Thoughts : Nice performance. I really think Kristy sealed her Top 12 spot. Score 21/25
Song Title : Against All Odds
Judges Thoughts : (R) Another big song with big vocals. I thought it was a pretty good vocal but find that confidence. (P) You have such a beautiful face. You deserve to be in the Top 12. (S) Because you are so little and cute it was nice but it was old fashioned. It was a bit predictable and I am not jumping out of my chair.
Slim’s Thoughts : I like Ramiele but I am not sure the song was a good pick. She should still be in the Top 12 but not her best performance tonight. Score 16/25
Song Title : Love Is A Battlefield
Judges Thoughts : (R) I really liked it. You didn’t bring anything new to the song but it was interesting. (P) I thought it was a very wise choice. I like that it was pure. You needed to incorporate the band more. (S) I think it worked purely because it didn’t have the band. Two weeks running you had a terrific performance.
Slim’s Thoughts : Rumors are that Brooke was the worst in rehearsals. Personally I didn’t think she was the good live. Very boring. Worst Brooke performance to date. Score 17/25
Name : Syesha Mercado (1-866-IDOLS-08)
So>ng Title : Saving All My Love For You
Judges Thoughts : (R) Good. (P) Sophisticated and lovely. (S) Good.
Slim’s Thoughts : Nice song, nice performance. Top 12 for sure. Score 20/25
Slim’s Top 3 : Carly Smithson, Kristy Lee Cook
Slim’s Bottom 3 : Amanda Overmyer, Kady Malloy, Ramiele Malubay
Picks to Go Home : Amanda Overmyer, Kady Malloy
The girls stepped it up tonight. Still I am not sure they are quite as good as the guys but it was good. I am really hoping that Amanda will finally go home and unfortunately since I have to pick someone else it will have to be Kady. She just hasn’t rose to the challenge. So what do you think? How did your favorite do. Leave some thoughts and tune into tomorrow night as angie blogs the results live.
Erm…was Paula like. Drunk?
Gee I don’t know Melly, I have always been a bit of a defender for Paula, but her behavior last night was to much for me to defend :em52:
Erm…was Paula like. Drunk?
They could substitute Paula with a life-size pull-string doll. Their IQ’s would be similar, and the pull-string doll would know when to shut up :em62:
From the old Bob Newhart show, we could get Larry, Darrell and Darrell to be the judges. They could call themselves “Anything for a buck talent scouts”.
Will Ferrell would be taking over Paula’s position. Reba McIntyre would be good. Who was it that was one of the celebrity judges that was so matter-of-fact and good….within the last two years…
Can we go ahead and get together a list of replacement judges.
I vote for Gene Simmons and Patti LaBelle.
Right now, I’d take Will Ferrell and Rosie O’Donnell.
I’d settle for Donnie and Marie Osmond!
Dig up the three stooges. At least their silence would be authentic :em62:
Paula’s problem is that she’s mentally incapable of espousing any helpful criticizm. She basically mimics everything Randy says, or mutters something completely incoherent. Her nonsense actually helps Simon – when it’s his turn – sound quite intelligent.

They’re kind of like incumbent politicans, I’m ready for a change.
I’ve got a few possibilities floating around.
OK, after last night, I am ready to throw the judges under the bus. Not only was Paula chemically enhanced, she looked like “road kill”. She and Randy spent half of their time mumbling nonsense, while Simon was attempting to right the ship. The result was that they ran out of time and short changed Syesha. If she does go home tonight, she can thank Paula “Seal Clap” :em78: Abdul, and Randy “Dude not Dawg” for wasting what little time the show actually has between the commercials.
This show is starting to wear on the my last nerve.
Kristy sounds too country/twangy on every performance. She’s got a good voice…but I don’t necessarily want to hear the twang on every dang song.
Get used to it Tim. That’s who she is. It may not work for everyone, but it will get her into the top 12. After that, I don’t think she’ll finsih higher than 7th.

OH, Slim, just because you hate Amanda did not make her performance bad!
.
yeah it did, IMO she was terrible last night. I don’t hate Amanda, just her voice
I still think Amanda will survive the top twelve. It didn’t help by having all three judges praise her performance. She can’t possibly last much past twelve, though. She’s too limited (syle and vocally)
And let me also say that whoever is handling wardrobe this year needs to be shot. Last night was a new kind of hideous. Or are the contestants still wearing their own clothes?
I’d like to see Ramiele wear LESS wardrobe. :em17:
I know Carly is a great singer but I just dont care for her.
I don’t either. Cover Those Tats! One is whatever, but a sleeve is too much. Amanda was good last night (surprisingly), but she’s still leaving. So is Kady. But Kady will get some sort of “modeling” offer.

Kristy sounds too country/twangy on every performance. She’s got a good voice…but I don’t necessarily want to hear the twang on every dang song.
the world really hasn’t seen or heard the real kristie. i used to watch and listen to her at cowboys in arlington texas. she always looked and sounded like a million dollars with lots of confidence……….i really haven’t seen her real self yet. if the real kristie that i grew to love ever shows up, the would will see what i’m talking about…….come on kristie…….give us some of that ……..”from the gut”…… martina mcbride/pasty cline kind of stiff……….

I think the girls were disappointing tonight. I went back and listened to them all and it makes a big difference to listen to them and not watch them. I thought at first Kristy did great but after listening again..wasn’t so good. And kady, who I thought bombed…actually sang that really well. Not my favorite song, but she sang it great. Brooke did ok…but she picks the same kind of songs every week…can get a little boring. Amanda….ugh. I really liked her at first but now I wish she would just go. I know Carly is a great singer but I just dont care for her.
Just read my blog..all my thoughts are over there. :)

Kady Maloy is the female equivilant of David Hernandez this year. Her lack of stage personality is going to get her that cab ride to LAX tomorrow night. She thought she was gone last week. It will come true this week.
Amanda should probably be the other girl going home, but it could be Aisa’h or Seysha.
Guys going home are Luke Menard for sure and probably David H. David has similar personality problems that Luke and Kady suffer from. He has good vocals, but no stage presense.
OH, Slim, just because you hate Amanda did not make her performance bad!
Not only was that one of her best, it easily put her in the top 1/2 of the girls tonight! One-dimensional? Maybe. Worked for Taylor. At least I know where she would fit in the music world, something that you can’t really say about many others.
Kady sealed her fate, I think, she had the target on her from last week…
I think Ramiele and Syesha are in a lot of danger. I really question Kristy’s ability to “last” in the competition (as in, she would be lucky to survive to the top 8), but she might be okay. We shall see.
Loved Brooke, Carly, Kristy and Ramiele. .
Those are my picks too, but in a slightly different order. And personality aside, I did think Kady finally had a good performance. I also think Amanda will win a spot in the top 12. I can’t believe Simon said that Kristy was “forgettable”. Oh well, like you said….Simon was in a really really weird, almost obnoxious mood tonight.
Loved Brooke, Carly, Kristy and Ramiele. The girls stepped it up. It seems Randy and Paula gave positive comments tonight to the girls, but Simon was in a different world. Paula’s weird antics came straight from season 5 with the moth and the other thing coming back to her. Kady is probably a goner tomorrow. As for tomorrow night, I predict a super shocker. Probably bigger than last year.
Ramiele didn’t really wow me tonight (as far as vocals :em43: ),..but I think she secures a place in the top twelve. She has a huge fan base (ME) , a great personality, nice pipes, and well, eye candy :em21:
Tim.m,
I thought Kristy performance was very unique, a brave and excellent choice, in fact, I liked it far better than the commercial AOR brand of non-unique R&R that typical 80′s radio friendly bands like Journey (and REO speedwagon) sang.
ABX
The only person that I loved tonight is
Kristi Lee Cook.
Comments:
Paula: Woah Crazy Paula showed up tonight!!! :) She tells Carly she is a dependable dog and then she tells the dog pound they are mutts ROFL. Then she is doing something with Simon. What were they doing? Hahahaha! Moose Simon was touching his neck tonight and touching Paula’s chair.
Kristi Lee Cook was so good tonight!!! I love love love her singing voice!
I’m worried about Kady. She improved from her previous performances but it might be too little too late. She had to come out tonight and dazzle us, and I think she fell a little short.
Biggest disappointment to me was Kristy. I just didn’t like the country spin on Faithfully. She wasn’t bad or pitchy or anything… I guess I didn’t like her song choice. She’ll be back next week…
Well, I do think the boys were more interesting overall, but the girls did quite well in the end. My favs were…(actually, hang on, I have to really think about this – maybe they weren’t that great!) Carly and Brooke. Amanda surprised me because I really thought this week would be her last and now I’m not so sure. I’m slightly worried for Kady and Kristy Lee. The results show tomorrow is a must see!
Asiah Epperson: Certainly no second hand Whitney. She needs to pick more suitable songs, more within her vocal reach.
Kady Malloy: Very brave choice, Freddy Mercury, I think, would have approved. Its to bad her lack of confidence makes her look so vulnerable!
Amanda Overmyer: Easily the most limited vocals of the entire group, but within her one dimensional style, she Rocks well.
Carly Smithson: A most natural talent, nice pipes, but she needs to find the right material to confirm her vocal superiority.
Kristy Lee Cook: Country with power and soul, a unique rendition, easily the best perforance of the night.
Ramiele Malubay: She has naturally big vocals and can sing, but not tonight. She butchered that song. Totally offkey, perhaps one of the worst performances since the girls started this competition.
Brooke White: Good, but far from great. This Carly Simon clone needs to branch out or she will soon become as one dimensional as Amanda.
Syesha Mercado: Her voice seemed to strain at times, like Asia’h, she needs to sing within her range.
Deserves to go after this performance: Ramiele Malubay; Asiah Epperson.
Probably done: Amanda Overmyer; Kady Malloy.
Most impressive, unique performance: Kristy Lee Cook.
Most improved: Kady Malloy.
Biggest dissappointment: Not the contestents, but the panel. Paula lack of diction is getting old very fast, and Simon needs to cool it on the personality issues … simply no need for that, as if he is one to talk!
As a whole, the girls did quite well tonight, but couldn’t compete with the overall performances the guys put on last night.
ABX
My top 3 were Asiah, Kristy , and Brooke. But they are still below the guys in my ranking…… just my opinion, of course.
I’m sorry, I didn’t like Amanda at all…again. I know she sung flawlessly, but I’m getting tired of her raspy bluesy rocky chicky sound. But the producers want her on the Idol Tour so she got three kudo’s from the judges
tmq, they ran out of time – Syesha was totally robbed, they gave her one-word comments because they ran out of time. Really weird.
Yeah, that was weird. Syesha looked a little dumbfounded :em28:
tmq, they ran out of time – Syesha was totally robbed, they gave her one-word comments because they ran out of time. Really weird.
My top three tonight:
Carly
Brooke
Kady
Special mention:
Ramiele
Kristy
Carly was fantastic again, although I liked last week’s performance a little more.
Brooke was good, and I think she made the song her own, because it didn’t sound anything like I had expected.
Kady (imo) was actually good tonight. Much better than her previous three performances.
C’mon Slim. Is that all you got from Simon and Randy about Syesha? GOOD? C’mon, what else did they say?
i love kady malloy!
she did great!!
she looked great!!
VOTE KADY!!
18664365702 :em02:
Asiah was pretty good, best performance for her so far. Kady picked it up a bit, could have belted it a little more.
Amanda was the same Amanda – nothing new. I didn’t like it, but that’s me….
Quiet night tonight, not sure where the usual crowd is :em28:
The guys delivered last night, but what about the girls? I hope there are a few surprises tonight!
Cue the comments (Angie, where are you!!)
