Name : Syesha Mercado (1-866-IDOLS-01)
Song Title : Got To Get You Into My Life
Judges Thoughts : (R) Nice arrangement. Started a little rough but by the middle you got into it. It was alright. (P) You know you are a good singer. It started off pitch but midway through you found your own. (S) I thought it was better than alright. It was a great choice of songs. You did look very nervous and you need to get past that. You were better than last week.
Slim’s Thoughts : Opening the show may put Syesha in the bottom 3. A decent performance but nothing that stood out for me.
Song Title : She’s a Woman
Judges Thoughts : (R) I was entertained. Who knew. I love the arrangement. Chikezie smashed it. (P) Thats the Chikezie I knew. The reward payed off. (S) I am really surprised I have to agree with these two. Unlike the first singer, you have changed in a week. I thought you were terrific.
Slim’s Thoughts : Hated it. Bottom 3 for sure.
Song Title : In My Life
Judges Thoughts : (R) Kind of pretty but kind of pretty boring. Didn’t move any earth for me. (P) It was pretty safe. You are holding back. (S) I was bored to tears. Dreary song choice that did nothing for you.
Slim’s Thoughts : Nice but not powerful.
Song Title : If I Fell
Judges Thoughts : (R) I liked it but I didn’t love it. It was alright. (P) I disagree with Randy. I feel your heart and I feel the audience feels your heart. It makes you unique. You have an emotional connection with the songs you pick. (S) Last week you were incredible, tonight you were like a student in a bedroom at midnight. It was boring. Good enough to stay another week.
Slim’s Thoughts : Jason with his guitar again. Nice performance. A little boring but still a great vocal.
Song Title : Come Together
Judges Thoughts : (R) You were strong, you were confident. Stellar performance. (P) I felt like I was watching a star. (S) Week after week you have chosen the wrong song until now. This reminds me 6 years ago of Kelly Clarkson.
Slim’s Thoughts : Nice Performance. A definite front runner.
Song Title : Eleanor Rigby
Judges Thoughts : (R) You can rock out on Idol. You are doing your thing. A little pitch thing in the star (P) You are the front man here on American Idol. (S) It was brilliant. You could win this entire show.
Slim’s Thoughts : Awesome. A little nervous it seemed but still awesome.
Song Title : Let it Be
Judges Thoughts : (R) Don’t know if it was your strongest performance. I love the fact that you have all of this conviction and you sing this big song. (P) This is your niche, picking songs. (S) I thought it was again one of the best performances of the night. It was a brilliant choice of song and you have done it 3 weeks in a row.
Slim’s Thoughts : Love the song. Great performance.
Song Title : I Saw Her Standing There
Judges Thoughts : (R) You have a big voice but this song was a little over done. To much was going on with it. (P) I love your voice but I feel like you over did it a little. You needed to scale back a little bit. (S) No, no, no. Corny verging on desperate. It was like rabbit in the headlights. It wasn’t a strong performance.
Slim’s Thoughts : Fun upbeat performance. David just isn’t my thing.
Song Title : You Can’t Do That
Judges Thoughts : (R) You rocked it out. I loved it. Good looking out. (P) You look fantastic. You are a star up there. I am blown away. (S) I didn’t think it was as good as last week. I only understood 30% of what you said. You are a breathe of fresh air though when you come on.
Slim’s Thoughts : Pack your bags. Please go home.
Song Title : Across the Universe
Judges Thoughts : (R) I don’t know if it was your best performance but it was ok for me. A little sleepy. (P) I thought that was a brilliant performance. (S) You should have done something brilliant with the song. I am still a fan but I am frustrated still that we haven’t heard what you are capable of doing.
Slim’s Thoughts : Not a fan of Michael but it was ok
Song Title : Eight Days a Week
Judges Thoughts : (R) Liked the arrangement but vocally I was kind of torn. Half of me likes and half of me doesn’t. (P) I didn’t enjoy it. Don’t take the country thing to much to heart. (S) I thought it was horrendous. It was a very brave but a foolish thing to do.
Slim’s Thoughts : It was a risk and it might send her home.
Song Title : We Can Work It Out
Judges Thoughts : (R) This week it was not on point. It felt forced. It didn’t work for me. (P) Wasn’t your best week. (S) That was a mess. you stumbled over the lyrics. It was all over the place. It was your weakest performance.
Slim’s Thoughts : Oh damn, forgetting the lyrics is bad.
Slim’s Top 3 : Brooke White, Carly Smithson, David Cook
Slim’s Bottom 3 : Chikezie Eze, Syesha Mercado, Amanda Overmyer
Picks to Go Home : Amanda Overmyer
Well it was an interesting night. I think there were some awesome performances and some horrible performances. Now it is in America’s hands. Anything could happen tomorrow night. I want Amanda to go home but I am having that gut feeling that Kristy will be hitting the pavement. So make sure you tune in tomorrow night to see what happens. Don’t forget to leave your thought about tonights performances in a comment.

Cool. Thanks Angie.
ok, i’ll try to keep this short. i like to believe i know a good bit about the Beatles catalog and these contestants (for the most part) did exactly what i thought they would. they chose familiar songs. and like i figured it would, that worked to their disadvantage. why on earth these kids would pick songs people know is beyond me. if they had gone more obscure and picked songs that were lesser known they would have been able to show off their vocals… for 2 reasons…. people don’t realize when their off on a note and they can make the song more their own w/o makin people mad.
here are the songs each contestant sang and the songs they would have been better off siniging:
Archuleta-We Can Work It Out / Blackbird
Castro-If I Fell / Michelle
Chikezie-She’s A Woman – Perfect Song Choice
D. Cook-Eleanor Rigby / While My Guitar Gently Weeps
K. Cook-Eight Days A Week / Golden Slumbers
Hernandez-I Saw Her Standing There / Martha My Dear
Johns-Across The Universe / The Fool On The Hill
Maluby-In My Life / You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away
Mercado-Got To Get You Into My Life / Your Mother Should Know
Overmyer-You Can’t Do That / Helter Skelter
Smithson-Come Together – Perfect Song Choice
White-Let It Be / The Long and Winding Road

hope you enjoyed my take on things and if you haven’t heard the songs i picked i highly recommend them all.

Excuse me? What Beatles songs are not well known? Michelle, Helter Skelter (picked by most people on this blog for Amanda I think), Blackbird, Fool on the Hill, Hide Your Love Away etc., are not well known? FYI Guitar is Harrison and not available last night

Ok, I know Doc has room for another old geezer on his bandwagon. We’ll just have to stop by and pick up Angie and Rob on the way to the finals.
David A. says he didn’t know any Lennon~McCarthy songs. But, he said two weeks ago that the third verse of “Imagine” has always been his favorite. He says that the Beatles songs are “old-fashioned”. :em39: Which of the two comments is sincere and what is a big fat lie?
As a professional contestant he is programmed to say what needs to be said at the moment. He lost it big time last night so he suddenly played the “I’m jess awittle baby boy” card. W/ Imagine he was told he hit a HR so he played the “I’m experienced what did you expect” card in an aw shucks kinda way.
Just my humble opinion.
I predict another shocker tonight.
David A. says he didn’t know any Lennon~McCarthy songs. But, he said two weeks ago that the third verse of “Imagine” has always been his favorite. Imagine is a classic and written/recorded by Lennon as a solo artist (after the Beatles separated, I think, not sure). I would say both comments are sincere.
It is going to get interesting from this point on. The favorites dropped a notch, while some of the underdogs stepped it up.
Ain’t it the truth?! Get the results over with tonight and bring on the next week! I can hardly wait to see what happens next!!
I was pleasantly suprised tonight. Most of the contestants did very well. I agree with Angie and Rob, except I was not a Brooke fan in the beginning, but if you still have room on that bandwagon, I’ll hop on now.
Sorry, but David A. just stunk it up. He forgot the lyrics, he sang the wrong arrangement (Stevie Wonder), and he was all over the place. He’s very fortunate that he’s a fan favorite and talented enough to overcome a bad night.
I actually was entertained by cheesy tonight! That was a pleasant surprise.
Jason has a great voice and his own niche of, umm ehh, overaged schoolgirl fans :em21: (you know who you are). It’s getting to predictable for me and pretty soon, I’m gonna be wanting to watch reruns of the superbowl during his songs.
I, too, was pleasantly surprised by Chckeze. He was really good – he should definitely not be anywhere near the bottom based on that performance. As for Jason’s over-aged schoolgirls fans, I KNOW who you mean – not ME, of course, because I NEVER swoon over someone just because he has the dreamiest eyes, and gorgeous smile, and wonderful cheekbones and adorable goofy attitude but mainly those dreamy eyes….. umm, where was I? Oh yeah, you go right ahead and watch your silly Superbowl, while I focus on those dreamy eyes, and that smile, mmm…..
I’m sorry Slim, but I think your comments being too subjective.. It’s like you will never say positive things for some performances if you don’t like the contestant, even if their performances were awesome. Could you be a little objective please? Thank you.
Let me say this as gently as possible: Get your own blog if you don’t like Slim’s. He writes to please HIMSELF, not you or anybody else. The rest of us may tease him about his choices and favorites, and we love to respectfully agree to disagree, but we would NEVER presume to tell him how to run HIS blog.

I mean no disrespect when I say this, but, this is Slim’s blog and I think he has the right to be subjective. That’s why he titles the subjective part as “Slim’s Thoughts!” Just because he runs an AI blog doesn’t mean he can’t have an opinion. I, for one, love to hear what Slim thinks, then I pop into the comments to get everyone’s take on things.
Give the guy a break!
Slim, love ya, babe! :em18:

I think Ramiele is the most underrated contestant and am impatiently waiting for that big voice to come out of that little body. I think it’s there and we’ll hear it soon hopefully. Until then, I love the tone of her voice.

Carly has a strong voice but she was NOT Kelly Clarkson tonight- sorry. What I did like tonight is that she sounded like she could possibly knock out a good rock song soon as a change (Cranberries please) :em69:
Still like David Cook but want him to belt out an edgy rock song that kicks the whole way through and project the power. So far, we have gotten tidbits, but I want the whole steak :em47:
Been a Brooke fan the whole time, before you latecomers thought it was cool, and still love her soul :em19:
David H and Micheal did absolutely nothing for me tonight :em31:
I actually dug Amanda’s outfit better than other stuff she’s worn. Thought it flattered her body type. But I honestly FF’s the DVR through the 2nd 1/2 of the song because I couldn’t take it anymore. Just getting like nails on the chalkboard to me :em61: Most of the time, I jest about Amanda but her voice is honestly getting old for me.
As much as I like country at times, I felt like taking Kristi behind the barn and cracking her with a horse whip over that song. Ah, wait a second, that’s probably all I ought to share on that thought :em21:
And the Bitter Irrony of the Century Award this year goes to… drumroll please, David A who most definately DID NOT “Work it Out” tonight :em62:
L8r everyone.
What’s the world coming to, Rob? I agree with you on many of your points! :em62:
Chikezie entertained me, too.
Did you use “big voice, little body?” ‘Cause if you did, we can no longer talk.
Overage schoolgirl fan?? HEY! I resemble that remark!
I so agree that Carly was so not Kelly Clarkson!
I do not, however, want a whole steak of David Cook. Eh, I’m just not a red meat kind of girl.
I was a Brooke fan at the beginning, so we can start our own, “We Liked Her First” fan club!
I did like Michael, didn’t like David H and Amanda was like nails on a chalkboard for me, too.
Though I agree with the sentiment toward Kristy, I’ll give YOU my moderator whip and let you have the honors. That ain’t my thang.
Upon listening to David A several more times, it definitely wasn’t at bad as first listen for me. Boy can sing, no doubt. He had an off night.
And thus ends my commenting on Rob’s comments.

This was one of the best American Idol episodes ever. They were awesome. I think the songs had a lot to do, but they all brought their game.

David A, Brooke, Chikezie

David A, David H, Syesha
Will be Bottom 3
Syesha, Ramiele, David H

Angie. What/where is your blog?
Big fan of Amanda here.
Slim, I think you are going to be in for a long haul if you keep picking Amanda to go home. I predict (and you heard it here first) Amanda will make the top 3, and has a unexpectedly good chance to win it.
This is all despite the following:
she does not have great voice control.
she does not have a great tonal range.
she does not have tambre/quality of sound to her voice that Carly and David do. she is truly anything but the perfectly polished and typical “recording artist” simon and clive are looking for.
Amanda operates mainly on desire, which she conveys in her performances: when you hear her sing, you know she wants it. it’s an intangible, and i can’t find a better word for it than that–desire.
I think this ‘desire theory’ holds true if you look at past winners like kelly and carrie. there’s no question, at the end, carrie wanted it more than bo. she tried harder everytime she was out there. No one will probably believe me on this, but I picked taylor hicks as a favorite before the final 12 for this same reason.
When I hear Carly, I hear a polished professional, but I don’t hear the desire. she’s actually so good at singing, it almost gets in the way of conveying a message to the audience that she is pushing herself to the limit.
but that’s what people want to experience (and i speak as a longtime musician and audience member)–they want to see a performer just laying it all out there. and i think that’s what amanda does every week (either because that’s who she is or because she has to), and that’s what is somehow harder for carly and michael because they’re so talented.
I thought Brooke was great. And then she was also barefooted. That was great. :em55:
i miss the scores…
i saw them earlier but didnt really look,
and now they are gone.
hoping this isnt a permanent change…
My thoughts are at my blog, so I won’t bore ya here.
My top 2 were Brooke and Michael.
Carly is good, but I don’t love her voice, so score-wise she is up there, just not MY favorite.
My bottom…KRISTY!! and Amanda
I don’t usually like David Cook but he did very well tonight too.
Carly was very good tonite. This is the first one she did that I liked her.
Cheesy was good tonight. He was fun to watch.
I liked Jason. I thought the judges were harsh. :em70:
I think the boys have it in the bag this year. For the win:
1) David A
2) David C
3) Jason C
I miss the scores — I don’t always agree with Slim, but I don’t agree with my wife on her scores either (and somehow we manage to stay together).
I’m with Slim on Amanda, though…. I absolutely hate her. I don’t like her screaming every note. I think if you turn off the sound and watch only the video you’d see that every performance is identical to the last. Oh wait.. turn on the sound. They sound the same, too.
So I do think slim is being objective in his scores–they are his objective opinions.
Thought it was a great, exciting show FINALLY. Kristy has to go home – Asia’h was robbed. Thought Chickezie was fantastic & had me grinning and clapping the entire time. Thought Michael was better tonight than the past few weeks. Absolutely love Jason & David C. but would love to hear Jason with an R & B song. Really like the new stage. They should ditch Randy & Paula and get one other judge like Simon, although his snotty “Sorry” at the end of his more negative comments really is nasty….
Chikeezie was very good. Surprise!!!! He also looks noticeably thinner. I actually liked him best tonight, which is saying a lot.
But I guess it’s goodbye to Kristy Lee. Sorry, boys.
Bummed for David A but I still love him. Next week he’s going to bring it.
I think it’s ridiculous that the judges have confused everyone so much that many of the contestants are trying much too hard to appear to be taking a “risk.” I love that Michael Johns and Brooke White are consistently strong singers who obviously already know who they are and don’t become someone else every week just to please the judges. Michael has an incredibly appealing voice and great credibility as a performer–he doesn’t need to get spastic and reinvent himself week after week. Brooke has also demonstrated her amazing talent by being entertaining without having to pretend she’s someone she’s not. I think both of these performers will be successful post-Idol no matter what the ultimate outcome proves to be.
Wow, Slim couldn’t be less objective if he tried. Amanda had a good performance.
=======================
Uh no she didn’t.. Well that’s my opinion anyway.
Carly rocks, Archie needs to darn her socks. God IS dead. Amanda wins, Kristy sins.
Hey I just realised that the song Michael Johns sang was covered by Fiona Apple…that’s how it know it! Thank God for Google.
Michael was my favorite tonight. I, of course, am the nobody you must be referring to :em24:
People I loved tonight were
Chickpee (Chickeze)
David Cook
Michael Johns
Kristi Lee Cook
Comments:
I have 2 boyfriends.. Michael Johns and David Cook. :) Man Michael Johns was feeling the song he was singing. I saw it and felt it.
Chickeze: WOW!!!!! HE WAS AMAZING! I LOVED IT!!! He made me laugh and so did Ryan. Well Chickeze replaces Danny for entertainment. :)
Ryan: Ryan Seacrest was so hyper tonight ROFL ROFL
I don’t like how everytime I call Michael Johns it’s not busy. :angry1:
I always love the way Ryan says, THIS is AMERICAN IDOL! :)
Nobody has said much about Michael Johns. That, to me, seems to imply that his performance was also forgettable. I sorta agree. He didn’t sing bad at all, but may not have done enough with the song to make it stand out. Oh well.

So your opinion is to slam Amanda no matter how she performs. That’s nice. I’m not trying to be mean or anything, I just don’t understand why you dislike her so much. Do you hate Janis too? Is it just that type of sound from a woman?
I am the same way, I can not like Amanda no matter how hard I try. She just doesn’t appeal to me. At all.
I also have decided that no matter how good she is, I don’t care for Carly’s voice.
It’s just a matter of taste. That’s all.
A matter of taste,,,Amen,,,Angie :em46:

It was directed to ME probably :em41: since I was the very first to say “Whaaaa?”
But I did say that I respectfully disagreed. :em35:
Not directed at you either I promise :)
Carly and Brooke brought down the house tonight. I still think David Archuleta is the new American Idol, based on his fan base, personality, year-of-the-boy, etc, etc. But it’s definately gonna be a horse race to the finish…
I must direct you to the post rules, every one is entitled to their opinion with out being slammed by anyone else. We all have different likes and dislikes. If we all liked the same kind of music it would be a very boring world.
Slim don’t be discouraged, this is the best blog ever

I have no idea who is going to go home tomorrow! Girl or boy, have no idea! Syesha, Kristy or maybe even David H (would be a pity to lose the eye candy, but as a firm Castronaut I think I will survive!)
Castronaut? LOL …
I don’t think David A’s weak performance will hurt him at all. In fact, (conspiracy theory alert) it wouldn’t surprise me to hear it was all a plan. Being perfect week after week gets a little old, this way they inject some more vulnerability into him and remind voters they can’t get overconfident with their favourites because they need the votes to stay in.
I totally agree with you!
I’ll just take scores off from now on. God forbid I write what I think on a blog that I pay over $100.00 a month to run for you guys.
Don’t you dare! If anyone complains without making sure it’s goodnatured, then off with their heads! You just keep on doing what you do, Slim, because it’s a thousand times better than anything anyone else has come up with. Your scoring gives us something to think on, and it cracks me up what you said about Amanda getting a low score no matter what she sings, hahahaha
Ramiele was my early “girl” favorite but man, has she tailed off vocally in recent weeks. It makes me sad because she is, like Brooke, a very likeable personality and she has a huge voice but has just underachieved every week. I’ll give her one or two more weeks….tops.
Well, the night, though not fabulous, was better than I had anticipated.
My top three: Carly, Brooke, Jason Castro
My bottom four: Syesha, Ramielle, David H, Kristy
Chikeze and Amanda weren’t that bad – I actually enjoyed Chikeze’s performance and I don’t think either one of them will go home this week.
I shall refrain from making any David Cook comment, since we all know how I feel about him…(applaud my restraint, someone!). In all honesty, I cannot say it was a bad performance. That doesn’t mean I have to say it was a good one! He’s not going home, though. :em41:
I don’t think David A’s weak performance will hurt him at all. In fact, (conspiracy theory alert) it wouldn’t surprise me to hear it was all a plan. Being perfect week after week gets a little old, this way they inject some more vulnerability into him and remind voters they can’t get overconfident with their favourites because they need the votes to stay in.
I have no idea who is going to go home tomorrow! Girl or boy, have no idea! Syesha, Kristy or maybe even David H (would be a pity to lose the eye candy, but as a firm Castronaut I think I will survive!)
Slim – I started viewing this site regularly in season 5 for YOUR opinions … keep doing your thang, dawg. I’d prefer less of the judges quotes in your synopsis and much more of your take. Thanks for keeping this site among the best AI blogs!
I’ll just take scores off from now on. God forbid I write what I think on a blog that I pay over $100.00 a month to run for you guys.
I hope you’re not serious, Slim. Those scores are what I use to craft some of my own opinions.
Geez…chill out people :em65:
okay(:
thats good to know, cause i thought for sure that was meant for me! :em21:
i didnt mean it like that, i am sorry.
i totally agree that we are all entitled to our own opinions,
which is why you should be able to score the performances
& i can complain about it.
Actually that wasn’t directed at you at all :)
Here are some things that i thought of the idols performances tonight.
I thought carly’s performance was spectacular for one. She made the song hers and nailed it.
In my opinion, David Cook was awful. The only thing that was somewhat good in that song was the chorus at the end. I disagree with simon that it was brilliant. I thought the whole beginning was pitchy and just not enjoyable. Almost boring.
Did not think David H’s performance was good enough at this part of the competition.
Also, i really think Amanda did awesome tonight. The whole beatles thing just doesnt seem like its her “cup of tea” but she made it hers and kicked ass in my opinion.
Michael Johns – really big fan of him and thought that this performance was solid. However, i agree with Randy and SImon on this one and thought he could have changed this to be his own like Carly did.
Kristy Lee’s performance was awful! The whole song seemed forced and just was not pleasant at all to hear.
Ahh David Archuleta! I just dont think that the beatles fir him. He said it himself that he wasnt very comfortable and did not like the older songs. He forgot the words so people are going to be very critical of him considering he is the top dog right now. It wasnt the best performance but he still had the vocals in my opinion and was in no way close to the bottom 3. I completely disagree that it was anywhere near the worst performance because it was not. He is such a powerful singer and sorry but nowhere near the bottom so dont be hating!
Ramielles performance was just flat out boring. She has a beautiful voice but i agree with what simon said because i was just bored to tears.
Jason Castro’s performance was also good i thought not the very best but far from the worst. I think he did put himself into the song and i could feel it like Brooke’s performance who poured her heart through the entire performance which i really liked.
Another thing is that Ryan Seacrest is just borderline annoying now. When he bickered with Simon it was just annoying and kinda pissed me off haha.
My bottom 3: Kristy Lee, Ramiele, David H.
Going home- Kristy Lee
i didnt mean it like that, i am sorry.

There were some surprising performances tonight. I still hate Cheezy as a performer, but his vocals was pretty good tonight…and he made the song his own (although it seemed a little goofy in places)
Amanda was the biggest surprise. I actually enjoyed her performance tonight, and I am NOT a big fan of hers by any stretch….
Kristy really disappointed me with her song selection. It was a complete disaster and two Beatles are rolling over in their graves right now :em76:
I’ll just take scores off from now on. God forbid I write what I think on a blog that I pay over $100.00 a month to run for you guys.
I enjoyed the show. Kristy messed it up, I think she’s gone. I actually enjoyed Chikey and even Amanda was better tonight (although I wouldn’t be upset if she left). But my votes went to Carly, David Cook (who I loved from the get-go) and Brooke. This season is really enjoyable for me in spite of feet/knees and socks.
i have to say that i think jason castro deserved much more than the score you gave him.
althought that could just be because i lovee that song :em50:
imo, and forgotten lyrics aside, I thought David Archuleta did a pretty good job with his choice. I hadn’t heard Stevie Wonder’s rendition of “We Can Work it Out” , but I have to assume it was spectacular.
So your opinion is to slam Amanda no matter how she performs. That’s nice. I’m not trying to be mean or anything, I just don’t understand why you dislike her so much. Do you hate Janis too? Is it just that type of sound from a woman?
I’ve been holding off commenting until the top 12. I think America did a good job of filtering out the performers.
I was kind of surprised but Slim’s comments on Chickezie. I thought he was in the top 3 this week.
I liked Amanda this week. At least I liked her more than some of the other acts.
I rate the performances in this order:
1- David Cook
2- Carly
3- Chickezie
4- Brooke (I’m developing a huge crush on her)
5- Syesha
6- Jason
7- Micheal Johns
8- Raimele
9- Amanda
10- David Hernandez
11- David Archulleta
12- Kristy Lee

Soon :)
Will there be audio for David A?
Thanks!!!
Wow, Slim couldn’t be less objective if he tried. Amanda had a good performance. Chikezie was real good too. Kristy, David H and David A had the bottom 3 tonight if you’re want to be honest and not pick favorites. David Cook was awesome.
we all have our opinions. I guess you missed that I had David Cook in my Top 3.
Carly was unbelievable tonight. That makes three stellar performances in a row (imo). Boy, I hadn’t really noticed her in the auditions…

Top: Michael, Chickeze, Brooke
Bottom: Ramielle, Kristy, Syesha
Going home: Kristy
Kristy did worse than Amanda, slim…
Sorry to state the obvious….but if you’re gonna put score at least attempt to be objective
I don’t like Amanda. Doesn’t matter what she sings she will always get a 10. That was the way it was with Sanjaya.
Kristy did worse than Amanda, slim…

Ahahahahaha, yeah, be objective Slim! You’d think this was your own blog or something! :em62:
Top three:
Carly
Brooke
David Cook
David Archuleta will probably get the most votes, however :em28:
Going home:
Cheezy or Kristy
Hey Gerry,
I agree the written lyric is “darning”. When I listen to David sing it, I hear “wearing” but who knows, could be a by-product of too many concerts. :-)

I totally agreed with Simon regarding Kristy’s “ghastly” performance. Well, I figured it would be a trainwreck when I saw the song spoiler. I don’t like the song to begin with, and I really hated it after it was country-ized. :em72:
I enjoyed Brooke and thought her performance was very down to earth and genuine. Kristy took that country thing a litte to literally and I wasn’t crazy about that performance….
Mike, he got the lyrics right– McKenzie darns his socks. It was Ringo’s idea.

This sounds a little strange coming out of my fingers, but I actually enjoyed Amanda’s performance. *ducks*
She took a song I didn’t really love to begin with and made it her own and it was fun to watch. Oh well. Go girl! :em23:
But David Cook did screw up his.
Father McKenzie wasn’t wearing his socks at night, he was “darning” them.
(sorry, big Beatles fan) ;-)
Didn’t Carly screw up the lyrics? “FEET down below his knees?” The lyrics are “HAIR down below his knees?”. Why didn’t anybody call her out on that?
He bag production he got walrus gumboot
He got Ono sideboard he one spinal cracker
He got feet down below his knee
Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease
Come together right now over me
Didn’t Carly screw up the lyrics? “FEET down below his knees?” The lyrics are “HAIR down below his knees?”. Why didn’t anybody call her out on that?
Brooke’s performance, although it wasn’t her best, was pure and innocent and VERY true to the original . I’m sure she did the Beatles proud with that arrangement. Now it’s a four-horse race! :em69:
Didn’t the news say that the Beatles’ songs were going to be from the early period before Sgt Pepper? Well ‘Come Together’ was released in 1969, a year before the Beatles broke up.
Yeah, what’s up with that? I guess somebody changed their mind :em53:
Well, even though last week’s performance was better, David Cook definately didn’t disappoint….I see this race tightening up between David A., David C., and Carly.
Didn’t the news say that the Beatles’ songs were going to be from the early period before Sgt Pepper? Well ‘Come Together’ was released in 1969, a year before the Beatles broke up.
Wow. Carly was wicked spectacular. Best performance. I’m straddling the fence now about Archuleta winning it all. :em52:
my 12 yr old started to pretend snooze across the room while Ramielle sang.
WHAAAA? Slim, you gave Chickeze only 14 and Ramielle 18?! WHAAA? hahahaha If ever I needed proof that we all hear the music differently, I’ve got it now! Sigh, I respectfully disagree and would flip those numbers.
oooo new stage. Vehery fancy!
I am really looking forward to this show tonight, it is also the G daughter’s birthday, she is looking forward to it also…Hope they all do really well and make the fab four proud
Cue the comments!!
