Episode 27 – Results

Results Blogged Live Via the East Coast Feed

Dolly night has come and gone and now we must send another contestant packing. Predictions on the net have either Ramiele or Kristy going home tonight and I agree. I do think it will be Ramiele over Kristy but only time will tell. Should Kristy make it through another week I think people will freak out and call Idol a conspiracy. Personally I don’t think that is anything new. Votes are rigged and always have been.

So who is it that will be going home? Of course anything could happen as it did last week with Jason in the bottom 3. Sit back and relax. This is American Idol

Feel free to leave your thoughts about the results show in a comment or chat live with us in the shoutbox on the sidebar. We always value your thoughts and opinions.

Slim Wants To Go : Ramielle Malubay
Slim Thinks Will Go : Ramielle Malubay Kristy Lee Cook

Angie Wants To Go : Ramiele Malubay

Official Idol Going Home: Ramiele Malubay

Hey, guys! Angie here, once again, to fill you in on the fun and games of elimination night. What do YOU think will happen?

The show gets started with a group song of “9 to 5″ and it was oh so very bad from the dancing to the singing. Nobody was on it 100%. Thank goodness for commercials!

On a side note, (because they are showing recaps and really, who wants to relive it? Well, except for that uber-sexy Michael Johns performance..but I digress.) I wish Ryan would wear something else besides a suit. I don’t think he wears them well. Also, I love Dolly Parton!

Sofa vs Stools time, kids!
The votes are in and Ryan calls Michael Johns out first and he is SAFE! (Love it!)
Archie toddles out in his nice boy sweater and he is SAFE! (duh)
Carly is next in one of those unflattering tops and Ryan messes with her head for a minute then tells her she is SAFE!

Back from commercials and we are again tortured with calls from fans. Syesha, David Cook, Randy, Michael and Simon are the lucky ones, tonight. It was slightly less painful than previous weeks, but not much.

The Clark Brothers (winners of The Next Great American Band) perform for more time filler. Thanks Nigel.

The Ford video/commercial was funny tonight with the Idols singing, “It’s Tricky.” It even featured stunt doubles! Idol rocks!

Sofa vs Stools time again!
David Cook is SAFE on the sofa!
Ramiele, in a fashion disaster, is the first to take a stool.
Kristy comes out with a note in her hand that says, “Kristy’s seat” as she is sure that she will get a stool. Aaaand she does. (She’s just a bit too cocky for me, tonight.)

Back from commercials, again, and we get a “Where are they now?” segment featuring Bucky, Bo Bice and Phil Stacey.

Sofa vs Stools v3.0
Syesha is safely on the sofa.
Jason and Brooke are the last two out to the stage.
Jason is SAFE!! (yesssssss!! And all is right with the world.)
Brooke is not. (NOOOOO! Ok, ALMOST all is right with the world.)

Official Bottom 3: Kristy, Ramiele and Brooke

Next up is the weekly “Idol Gives Back” segment. Then Dolly sings, “Jesus and Gravity.” Hmm, I really should have listened to that song because, well, Jesus and Gravity? What the H? But, I had to go to the shoutbox and defend my girl Brooke from the meanie-pants people.

The lights are dimmed. Ryan sends Brooke to safety!! (YAY!)

Kristy is safe and Ramiele is serenaded home by Ruben. Ryan comforts Ramiele and then she sings us out.

So, what’d you guys think? I am personally happy with the results. It was time for Ramiele to go. Leave YOUR thoughts in the comments and come join us in the shoutbox for discussion. Until next week…Angie, out.

i am very happy with the results! even though i haven’t been a ramiele fan, it was pretty sad when she found out she was going. she does seem like a sweet little girl. but now it is time for kristy to go home and then after that it will start to get pretty tough. i just don’t want jason to go any time soon! do we know what next week’s theme is yet?

That’s probably true. And if that is true we Brooke lovers need to get on the call and make more calls.

Ramielle was the right person to go home this week. She was the weakest of the remaining contestants. I was disapponted that Brooke was in the bottom 3. I hope that isn’t a trend because I want to see her last a while. If Jason avoided the bottom 3 is was only by a hair. There is no way he was that much better than Brooke and Kristy Lee.
Wow! There are a lot of comments on here today….

Dolly did sound worn out. But then again, some of the other old timers who have performed in the past have sounded that way too. it comes with age. And as far as she looks, she’s had so many alterations that she’s starting to look fake. I hope she doesn’t go any further or she’ll end up like Michael Jackson.

Dolly is highly respected and liked in the music biz. Even though she’s lost a few steps she is still a legend adn seemingly a likeable person.

The Clarke Brothers were terrible. The reason I get turned off by a lot of bluegrass type music is because it sounds more like unorganized noise than music. Last night was no exception.

I think part of the wardrobe problem has less to do with the people dressing the contestants and more to do with the current fashion trends. Some of the the things the women are wearing these days are hidious.

I think they all “knew” (not told ahead of time but in their gut) that Ramielle was going and my sense is that she is the one person everyone actually liked and they all seemed more down then normal after she hit the stool. Pure speculation I know. :em51:

No she is not a very good singer, the young one’s have always done that though ( pick a singer because of other talents or cuteness). It is so refreshing to see them pick one that, so far, is a good role model. I would bet she is taking vocal coaching and other classes as we speak.
I thought the bottom three would be Ramielle (who I think is super cute but was ready to leave in comparison to the rest), Kristy Lee (who should have gone awhile back, but she has a really good bra), and Syesha (who picks Whitney songs and instead of being compared to the other contestants, she’s going to be compared to Whitney! ). But that’s just my opinion!

I think the top two will be David Cook and David Archuleta. Cook has been bringing it (although this week not my favorite performance), but I like David A to win. But it will be close. A girl will be in the 3rd spot.

but if it is based on talents, skills, charisma and such.. i think ramiele is one of the top..
If you have the above (skill, charisma and talents) , then the performance would have been on top also. Ramiele is a cute girl and with some vocal coaching and and acting class or two (to help her show emotion during a song) and luck, as being on top has a lot to do with luck, she may just do well for herself. :em47:

I think it was Ramiele’s time to leave. But I was really surprised that Brook was in the Bottom Three ! :em28:
I thought for sure it would be Ramiele, Kristy and Jason in the Bottom Three, with Ramiele going home. It might be Kristy’s turn next week. Time will tell. It’s almost like she’s made up her mind already that she will be leaving soon. But seeing how Kellie Pickler is doing well, I’m sure Kristy will also, since in my opinion, Kristy is a much better singer than Kellie ever was.
And so much for American Idol “keeping her in because the producers didn’t want to get the Phillipines upset” was just another tabloid gossip theory and NOT a “known fact” as previosly reported . So my faith in American Idols voting system has been restored !

Picking my words carefully – I am not sure having a previous record deal is much different than having a previous talent competition victory under your belt.

I also still believe that David A is going to wind up in the Melinda slot (3rd). While he has the age thing on his side (as did J Sparks last year) he is not showing “growth” week to week – neither did Melinda, they are both primarily “consistent” whereas Sparks did show growth. I think David C may fit that bill more closely.

What was up with the sound mix and mics last night? 9-5 was peppy and all but it seemed like the mics kept cutting out and while they have drowned out the singers with the band several times this year due to “mixing” errors, I didn’t expect them to do it to Dolly!

Its a sad day for ramiele fans.
rickey was right spot on. putting her third to sing ended her journey. it was strategically dangerous, i guess the producers wanted that since country wasnt her forte
in a separate interview ramiele also mentioned that country was the genre she can least sing favorably.

i wish her all the best. shes got great charisma, the makings of an idol, a big voice.
the only thing lacking was experience which the other contestants obviously have.

What did someone say in the shoutbox…metal bluegrass? Alas, no album out since 2002. I have a feeling one is coming out soon though, or so my Magic 8 Ball tells me (thanks randomx6 for reminding me of its mysteriously accurate powers). :em52:

Their real honest reations to Ramielle’s pain said it all. Some other people, who I have heard others call nice, just were too wrapped up in their own worlds to

Are you implying that others are just plain selfish because they didn’t go and comfort Ramiele? Maybe you are the one who’s wrapped up in your own world.
Whatever you say – Don’t want to argue.
does anyone know what next weeks theme is?
Slim says it’s songs of the 21st century w/ Ms Carey as mentor. That could be real weird and wacky, don’t ya think?

Comments are eliminated when they are taken too far such as an argument that just won’t stop. When that argument starts to annoy the rest of the readers then it will be removed. When you open a post and see a quote me with 8 quotes from the same two people and that is all you see in the post it becomes annoying.

As far as I know, I have never seen you comment in the shout box.
Do not use this comment as a spring board to another argument as I will remove it.

I don’t understand the guff that Kristy Lee gets. She’s drop dead gorgeous and she doesn’t miss a note. I’d like to hear her tackle SOUL somewhat like when Reba covered Otis Redding’s “Respect,” and got rave reviews from Aretha herself. Kristy Lee keeps surviving. And next week may be a free pass for everybody like last year.

As we inch closer to the finals, I’m starting to understand how this is the best field ever. There have been individuals that may be better performers but not so many. Two more cuts and then it will start to hurt.
I have to agree with Ramiele going home. I just don’t think she was mature enough for the show, and it was too big for her. I have to say I would have liked to see Jason in the bottom three though, his singing is so boring….and Kristy, she deserves to go for being such a negative sour puss….suck it up, sing better and people will vote for you!! This year I find the voters are actually voting according to the performances each night, so far…that’s a good thing. I’m from Canada and can’t vote so it is a bit frustrating…but my 3 favorites are still in the running….Carly, David C and Michael J…even though I truly believe David A will win it all…..
Totally agree. those are the people that will make the top 5, David A (as much as other peoples trying to deny it) will go for the win.

I would have prefered Ramiele to be voted off next week just so Kristy wouldn’t get the big head for another week.. I’ll be looking forward to Kristy getting voted off NEXT WEEK! She’s really starting to annoy me with her attitude and she isn’t even all that.
I hope she gets the boot next time around!

  66. randomx6

Expected – deserved – still sad. It’s too bad she couldn’t bring her studio self to the stage. It took losing to bring her emotions up front and made the song MUCH better tonight. Still deserved, though.

Ramy: I knew she was gonna be gone because she was at the bottom of dial idol!

Kristi Lee Cook: Wow she is so negative! She wrote a little note saying Kristi’s chair. She has got to get rid of that negative.. Come on girl!!! positive is good! :) It’s healther!

Dolly: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! LOVE HER!!! :) Wow even Simon gave him a standing O! The only time I have ever seen him do that is with Leona Lewis.

Idol gives back: The children are abused!?!?!?!!? :angry1: I’m so glad that that little girl found her sister!

Mikey Johns: I knew he was safe. I was smiling the whole time.. Oops I shouldn’t be cocky. :)

The questions: Yeah good question! Why DOES Simon have to apologize everytime he gives a negative critique?
