With the cast of characters American Idol presented to us last week, one can only imagine who the producers will uncover this week in Greensboro and San Fran. Fantasia and Clay are from Greensboro. Could they in fact have the next American Idol? Only time will tell but lets first see the talented and untalented contestants.
I am only posting about some of the auditions tonight since the show is 2 hours and I am not feeling to good tonight
I think I’m in love with Kelly Pickler. What a wonderful voice she has but I am suprised she sang a Kelly song. I thought Kelly was having a fit over her songs being used on American Idol. While she is no Kelly Clarkson she is good enough for me. Paula thought she was adorable only after making her sing a second song and Simon loved her however he thought she was over singing. Pack your bags Kelly. Your off to Hollywood.
I can’t believe Simon liked Rhonda. Again I have to ask what in gods name he was thinking. I guess I am glad Randy and Paula spoke up and shut her out of the competition. Maybe she can come back with Zachary and they can do a duet later in the season.
Paula got a little damp tonight but thats nothing new. She even got to dance with a man in uniform. To bad I didn’t like him at all. The only part of the song he sang well was the chorus. The judges sure liked him and with that Steven David Jr. was put through to Hollywood. Thank god Ryan brought in Steven’s wife before Paula was naked on the judges table.
Halicia was interesting. This chick brought 15 family members with her to the audition and I think they are all straight from the Jeffersons. I kind of liked her but I didn’t like the song she picked at all. But it doesn’t matter what I think. She got the nod and she is in.
Donny needs some help. I was really afraid instead of singing tonight, he was going to tell the world he was gay. Gay or not he destroyed Bridge over Troubled Water. How could anyone sing that after Clay performed it so well. That song should be retired from AI. Singing isn’t for Donny. Guys might be but not singing.
I have to wonder what Kenneth was thinking trying to sing a Whitney song. Do you realize you are a man or are you still confused just like Zachary? Simon was right, I can imagine Kenneth in a dress. Can anyone else? And to think the judges put him through. Again I am lost as to the thinking of the judges. At least Simon realized the lack of potential and said no.
I love the fact that Ryan sang a country song and I am so happy the judges liked it as well. At first I was afraid they would say no since he sang country and not pop but they loved him. My eyes will be fixed on Ryan as I feel he will make it to Top 24.
Paris Bennet also sang a country song and she did awesome. There is something about her that is incredible. Paula was right about her having a totally different singing and talking voice and thats a good thing. If she sang in her talking voice I think she would have scared the judges away. Paris is another one I will be keeping my eyes on this season.
I see a lot of potential in Tyra. A wonderful voice. Simon thought she might not be a star but c’mon look at some of the other people you put through. Tyra rocks half of them. Randy loved the control and they put her through. Another one to keep your eye on.
Jordan the fireman actually worried me when he came in the auditions in his firefighter outfit but damn the boy could sing. I thought he was one of the best males all night but the judges weren’t to sure. Randy thought it was ok and said no. Paula said yes and of course Simon fooled us but said yes. Good job Jordan but please leave your firefighter outfit at home.
So what do we think about Rhonetta ? Is she the next William Hung or were we all to busy looking at her DDD boobs? I know I sure wasn’t. I was afraid for the judges. I thought her breasts might pop out and knock the judges out of their chairs. There really isn’t much else I can say about her. I want to try and be nice this season. But I am sure you guys will have something to say and I am sure we will see her again during the season. Probably on the same night we see Zachary again.
Thats it for tonight. Sorry the review is short but I am already in bed sick. Again we saw a few of the good people but most of the auditions were dreadfull. I guess I am starting to get used to the awful auditions. Leave some thoughts on who you liked, who you didn’t like and those that need their own show with Zachary from last week.
Don’t forget tonights episode will be available tomorrow on the Downloads Page. Grab your copy tomorrow while the page is still active. Don’t forget the new poll on the sidebar. I will be updating it each week. Lastly don’t forget the new Chat Room I installed. We had a few people in there tonight and are always looking for more people to chat live during the show. Check it out now or even tomorrow night during the San Fran auditions.

All things being equal, yes the edge does go to singing. However, because of the way Fox meddles, all things are not equal.
Of the three I mentioned, the girl with the dark hair who dumped the boyfriend is the one who is on the bubble. Her voice is good, she seems willing to work for it, but she is not as polished as some other contestants have been (she reminds me a lot of Lindsey from last year). Having been shown on TV with her sob story about recovering from surgery when she found out her boyfriend was cheating on her may give her a pass for a round or two of voting.
ABM girl (abandoned by mother) and FCG (foster care girl) seem strong enough to get to the voting rounds, but once they’re there, they have a clear advantage over people who are not shown (think Celena, Aloha and Melinda from last year). They may very well hold their own when it comes time to sing, but if they crack or falter, they’ll be carried by Fox’s manipulations, like Anthony, Scott, JPL and John Stevens were.
I am really hoping that American Idol borrows a page from Nigel Lythgoe’s other show (So You Think You Can Dance) and they have an hour-long introductory show featuring a 3-4 minute spot on each of the contestants who make it to the voting rounds. It will give Fox an excuse to have another hour-long show and it will level the playing field.
Dave, I disagree with you. If those contestants– at least Kelly Pickler and the foster home girl– make it to the voting rounds, it’ll be because they are that good… they had excellent auditions and so I don’t think we can start to say that they’ve extended their stay. If they start to suck, then yes– votes may have been influenced. But as of now (before we’ve heard no more than one or two songs), I wouldn’t make any definite claims as to the producers’ influence over their totals.
I see Fox building sympathy for three of the Greensboro contestants:
1. Blond hair, pink shirt. Abandoned by mother, dad is in prison, raised by grandfather.
2. Foster Care Girl. In and out of foster homes and orphanages. Three kids. Taller than Seacrest.
3. Dark hair, brown shirt, jeans. Found out her boyfriend was cheating on her while she was recovering from surgery.
If these three make it through to the voting rounds, it will be because Fox built them up in the auditions.
Hey! I’ve been kinda busy since AI began, I only got to catch glimpses of the show on TV. But I’ll catch up with the downloads soon. I feel so left out!
Anyway, I did like Steven David Jr. He was clean-cut, smooth, charming, ready.
Laura Wright was on the Greensboro show but her audition wasn’t show … she is the young girl at the end with the long dark brown hair .. earing jeans and a black tank top type of shirt with silver glitter… gotta check her out!!!look her up… LAURA WRIGHT!!!!
Too bad no one got to hear a young girl for Georgia that tried out in Greensboro and made it to HOLLYWOOD! They spent so much time on the “clowns” on the Greensboo show that no one got to hear the remaining 9 at the end that made it to Holloywood! Her name is Laura Wright…. AWESOME VOICE ! Hopefully they will let her shine in Hollywood! Instead of showing all those CLOWNS!!!!
Last night’s show was amazing. Up until then, I had yet to hear someone that really blew me away and then, with the advent of Kelly Pickler, I found five or six people who I thought were top-notch.
To begin, Kelly was absolutely amazing– I really enjoyed her songs (both of them) and she seems like a nice girl even if she does talk too much. I also really like Paris. She was great in both songs, but especially the second one. It’ll be interesting to see how a singer who is naturally blessed at singing blues will fit into the competition. I do wonder, however, what her famous grandmother will say if she is voted off of the show. Or even if she wins, what would a woman who already has a record contract say about AI’s record corporation… I wonder if perhaps the family is just trying to get word out about Paris (a la Mario Vazquez… which, by the way, where is he now?)
As for others that I liked, I really enjoyed the woman with three kids who had grown up in 42 foster homes. Of course she has a great story, but I also really enjoyed her voice and look forward to hearing more from her.
I was not, however, impressed with the guys tonight. I didn’t think that Jordan was all that impressive and I didn’t particularly like the air force guy’s voice… I hear Simon is predicting a guy to win, but I don’t think we’ve found him yet.
All in all, an awesome show last night– and it’s great to know that we still have San Francisco, Las Vegas, Boston, and Austin to look forward to.
Ok….Hi Brent….back again this year….so excited…yipppeee…sorry to hear that you arent feeling well….I just read an article on MSN regarding some gay alliance being outraged by the judges on American Idol!!! WTF???? What happened to our freedome of speech, it looks like we cant take a crap without someone being offended. Give me a BREAK…..Ohhhh I got some words, but I will be good.
Here is the link, if anyone is interested- http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10994783/
What a bunch of whiney asses…dont they have anything else better to do than complain-wait a minute, look who I am talking about. Yeah-I said it-that little alliance is nothing but a buch of whiney ass gay and lesbians!!! No pun inteded to anyone who is gay, but come one-did those comments really offend anyone out there? I bet they laughed just like the rest of us when Simon said that about Hulks bride and just like the rest of us, confused as all hell by the one she-dude.
BTW~I LOVE the girl whos gramma is a gospel singer that Randy wanted to hear sing. I cant remember her name-BUT I LOVED HER, she gave me chills!!!
There was also that lady who wore that sexy outfit and was rude to Ryan Seacrest.. She tells him he is short and says she hopes if she goes to California she doesn’t hang around with short people.. That left a bad taste in my mouth. She sang well but I’m glad she wasn’t picked to go to Hollywood. Her rudeness to Ryan just turned me off.
Gotta adore Paris. And Kellie. But I really liked the girl who sang “In the Still of the Night,” but for the life of me, I can’t find her name.
I think silver tube top potty mouth would have been funny, had they not overkilled us with her at every single solitary commercial break. By the time they got to her, I didn’t care anymore. And they had the gall to compare her to Keith! WTF?? Keith, at least, had class. :D
Hope you are feeling better, Brent.
Paris is by far my favorite right now. She almost had me in tears she sand so beautifully!
The Air Force dude? I should be happy for him since he is family by association (National Guard which I am), but he didn’t thrill me.
I was not impressed by the fireman. I kept saying to myself, they let someone like that onto the force? He just doesn’t strike me as the Fireman type.
Rhonetta? What the f****? That girl freaked me out!
I thought the girl that came from the 42 foster families was good, but not as good as Paris.
Tonight? San Fran!!
Haha thanks for a good article. I’m downloading this 3rd episode right now because I missed it tonight! Darn! There should be some good talents in this episode because I haven’t seen a real good one in the past two episodes. I’m excited!
hi :)
i missed todays episode :(
Let me know when you have Ep3 up, im new with this torrent thing, hopefully id be able to figure it out! pls let me know when you have it up thanks
Peg :)
I was laughing so hard when that guy in the orange shirt said that he learned to sing with Randy and Paula’s DVD. That. Was. Awesome.
I thought the fireman was pretty good; he just oversang it I thought.
That Kelly Pickler girl was very good, but I absolutely hate the fact that once again, the producers focused on the crappy family life. I can’t stand the pity approach. I could care less if her dad is in jail, or if that other chick was kicked out of 42 foster homes. The question is- CAN YOU SING???
Rhonetta was definitely…something, but I think that the producers pretty much gave her what she wanted, which is extra air time. They showed her after EVERY SINGLE COMMERCIAL! I mean, come on! It got old really fast, like the Zachary thing. It was worse this time because they talked about her for two hours.
I’m glad San Francisco is featured tommorow. It’s about time they showed some Asians!
I love Paris Bennet she can sing for 17 years old. She has a classic voice and i peg her as a winner but she has some tough competition i also like Ms. Pickler and the single momma with 3 kids she was good. As for Ronetta she looks like a broke fat a#$ little kim
who was the 17 year asian girl that made it through from Vegas. What was her name? anyone know.
I am inlove with Kelly Pickler too! She was amazing! Why did they have to show her sad life? her mother left her and her dad is in prison. She was crying. Don’t show that! :( I don’t want to be sad I want to be happy and hear her sing! :( Kelly could be one of my favorites this season. No not because of her sad life but because I love her singing!
Jordan the fireman was really good! A Josh Grobin song! Altho Josh makes me cry with his singing and Jordan didn’t but Jordan was really good.
Steven David Jr the guy in uniform who danced with Paula he was awesome!!! I loved him. He could be one of my favorites too! Yikes I didn’t know he was married! He carried Paula! Not a good idea..
Rhonetta ummm WOW! She just kept going on and on and on about her being better than Paula.. Yeah okay! Not a good singer. She says oh if Paula comes out people won’t recognise her but they would recognise me because I am a star.. Come on now! She just wouldn’t stop! Then she starts on Simon.. Crazy crazy. :)
