Tonight is a big night. When it is all said and done we will have our Top 2. I so want Syesha to make the finale but I just don’t think it is going to happen. The David’s have to large of a fan base and neither will likely be heading home but until Ryan gives us the official word, everything is just speculation.
So who is going home? Ladies and Gent’s – Sit back and relax. This is American Idol.

Official Idol Going Home: Syesha Mercado
Howdy kids! It’s that time again. We’re down to 3 already? Where’s Michael? Where’s Brooke? Where’s Jason? This isn’t how it was supposed to be! Nevertheless, this is what we are left with and tonight, we will find out who the last two idols standing will be. I think it will be a fight to the finish for the Davids. What about you? Well, grab your snacks, kids, and sit back and relax and let’s find out.
56 million votes later (or so says Ryan) and we’ll find out who is..Michael! Michael! I saw Michael in the audience. Whew, OK, OK, I’m OK. Let’s get to this.
The Top 3 grace the stage and sing, “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now” complete with theme park choreography! Odd, Syesha is in sneakers and jeans and soccer mom hair. She’s usually more dolled up than this. I’m not cringing too badly so I guess this group song is pretty good. Oh, yeah, ‘cept for that Syesha SCREEEECH I just heard. Cookie and Archie look pretty cute tonight.
Cut to commercials.
The Ford commercial is set to “Heaven.” It features each of the three sort of dreaming of their future successful lives. Eh, I’ve seen better Ford commercials. (bull fighting pants on Jason, anyone?? Huh?? ‘Nuff said.)
Aaaand we get long and drawn out recaps. ‘Scuse me while I file my nails. I’ve got this one chip that I must get…
Ryan introduces Fantasia singing a song which I SWEAR Ryan said is called, “Bore Me.” She has Ronald McDonald red hair and she reminds me for the next 2 minutes why I couldn’t stand her on Idol. Let me sum up the song in simple terms. “SCREAM SCREECH SCREAM SCREEEECH!” Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad Fantasia has found success, just not in MY mp3 player! PS Simon’s face was PRICELESS!
Ryan “starts the drama” and brings Archie out first and shows his homecoming in Utah. The girls MOBBED him, that’s for sure. He was overwhelmed seeing all the fans and he started crying. He’s a sweet kid. I really like him. Bless his little heart. Don’t bother saying anything crappy about Archie because it will fall on my deaf ears. He’s a genuinely sweet kid and you can’t convince me otherwise.
We get to watch Archie’s journey over the course of the season. He definitely had many many high points. And fade to commercial.
Archie moves to the sofa to await his fate and Ryan calls out Syesha. She goes home to Tampa to make special appearances. And I kid you not, some crazy woman throws her baby into Syesha’s arms for a photo op. This was all while Syesha is being pushed through the crowds by her body guards. Weird. Syesha, too, is moved to tears by the support of her family and fans.
Next, Syesha’s journey from the beginning of the season up to now, is shown. Fade to commercial.
Back from commercials and Syesha and Archie wait on the couch while Cookie joins Ryan center stage. Cookie tells us the story of how he was only at auditions with his younger brother to be his support. Ryan calls little brother up on stage and we cut to footage of Cookie’s homecoming. Of course his fans are RABID! For the first time, I realize he is left-handed. Don’t know what that matters, just sayin’ I just noticed. Looks like he had a great homecoming like the others. He went back to his elementary school and all the little kids were crazy for him. Like the other two, Cookie was moved to tears. I can not even imagine how overwhelming and moving it would be to see all those fans screaming, shouting and crying for ME doing something I love to do! Amazing! (am now cursing my parents for giving me NO musical genes.)

Finally, it’s results time. Ryan asks for comments from the judges. As if we frickin’ care! Just get on with it! Dim the lights, here we go…
“America has voted and the two people going on to next week’s finale are…David Archuleta….and David Cook.”
Syesha is classy and gracious and sings her way out. Good for her! She had a good run. Even though she was not my favorite, I hope she finds success.
And there you have it. Pretty much a no-brainer if you ask me. It’s on for an all David finale next week. I seriously have no preference and will be happy with either one winning it all. Good luck Archie and Cookie!

Why some people can’t praise their favorite without knocking other contestants is beyond me. The idea that “david archs dad did everything for him” would probably come as a big surprise to Archie who has been working his butt off like all the other contestants. I agree with Archie: whoever wins this competition deserves it. Whether it’s Cook or Archie, they’ve both worked really hard and will do well afterwards, regardless of the vote tallies.[/quote]

Yeah, saw that and I also heard a conversation from DA’s team song arranger and now I feel like there are so little reason for me to watch a show where the producer’s seem to be biased to one contestant. My feeling are not only for DA but also Syesha. I can’t imagine any show being dirtier than this show!

Methinks thou doth protest too much. They stuck Syesha with a bad song about penguins!!!! and Cook had to change songs (not just an arrangement) and neither one of them has a team. It’s a reality show and being thrown curves is part of it. You are right the show is “dirty”, the playing field is not level, the judges have biases and push certain people, (and indeed the two they have championed are the finalists) the staging and lighting is done more effectively for some than for others. You know what, what ticks me off really is I can’t believe how naive I’ve been! I don’t hate the contestant, I think they all great, I may make some misjudgment earlier on, but weeks by weeks I watch them all grow with each other I know they all are great people. I know it’s a more popularity contest and it is some time are not fair to the people who actually have great talent but to manipulate the contestant song choices and singing arrangement (plus more that I don’t have the heart to say) so that the result would in the producer’s way is just unbearable to me. It sucks! It’s ashame this year talented contestants have to enter this type of show. I admits the fame from this show does help them but… they all are so talented!! There will do great not matter what of course. I just wished that there’s another way for the world to know and acknowledge these great people rather than being in this type of show.
That’s it, I’ll try to sleep off the anger I’m having now. It’s 2.56 am and I’m planning to see Prince Caspian tomorrow (don’t ask why I’m just accompanying a friend while releasing the tension from my finals)[/quote]

Here in Malaysia the hordes are not bad since we are planning to see it at 12 noon, and it is still week days plus it is about the time where the Muslim men doing their Friday prayers so it won’t be much people (I hope). If not I might be able to see ironman again!

Heya Ang! Funny thing is, yesterday I figured out Archie is left handed (he was signing an autograph) AND Cook is (he plays his guitar backwards). I think you and I are secretly separated siamese twins – EXCEPT YOURE OLDER THAN ME!!!

If Fantasia had competed with this years contestants, I would have been surprised if she even made the top twelve. :blink:

I like the Cookie Monster for the win, but that’s just a personal preference.
Fantasia…no comment. Simon’s face pretty much said it all.
Can I just say that Fantasia’s actual performance was…entertaining…because watching her ‘dance’ was kind of amusing to me and I sort of had that Simon look on my face as well. But, my point while I was blogging, was I can not stand her voice. It is like nails on a chalkboard to me. It’s a screech that out-screeches the best/worst screechers who have ever schreeched on the AI stage.
Ok, I feel better. Had to clarify that.
No surprises here. Reflections: I was never a Syesha fan.. until the last few weeks. She did peak at the right time. She still has much to learn about performing but she is showing that she can learn. Prediction: watch out Broadway. Archuleta: I believe he is the real deal. He is a kid, awkward and humble. I like that. I get tired of pompous egos and arrogance. Don’t hold his dad against him, and we won’t hold your parents against you! Cooke: Nice job, great story (who is my brother’s keeper?). Very good talent. Work on control in the lower register and keep on rocking. Fantasia: Three reactions come to mind: hooker, stripper, talent allergy. Don’t know whose idea that was but it was just pathetic. Loved Simon’s stunned reaction. I never liked Fantasia and now I like her even less. Prediction: I was certain it would be Cook… until last night. Still feel strongly that Cook wins but not so certain. Question is: what is the demographic of Syesha’s fans and where do they go? Youth or older? Mellow or edgy? If swing voters exist in AI, it will be this block of fans. Will take a few days to ponder.

I must say after watching the clip above of Fantasia performing, my face had the same expression Simon’s did. It’s a matter of taste all right, and she just isn’t to mine.
syesha’s finally out of the competition! the results were totally expected anyways.
REally a good “play by play” Angie!! I did like Fantasia tho…I loved seeing her on the Wild Side. She was on the edge and fun…but her high light was when she sang “Summertime” during her AI time. So, she does have that real side too. And her TV show on Lifetime was hopeful and inspiring, I must admit, the look on Simons face as she performed tonight was priceless…so, funny. His jaw was on the table! Thanks for a fun site and being able to read the views of so many interesting people.

I also thought Fantasia was very entertaining. She was doing something with an African vibe (dance and percussion), and it was very brave for her to get off the beaten path, the poppish stuff favored by Simon & Co. Again, I’m disliking Simon tonight for being so disrespectful to an artist on this show. It’s okay if he wants to criticize a contestant – that’s what he’s there for, but to bash people who are not there to be judged, is totally out of line.

I really hope that Syeshia goes home. I don’t think she’s bad, I just think she is ordinary and doesn’t really stand out from the crowd. I really like David Cook, he is so original, cocky at times, but original. I love how he makes the song his own. Like last night he did Aerosmith and he did such a great job with one of the hardest songs to do. I don’t think he will win, though, which is fine with me because I think he would do a lot better when he isn’t .. tied down. Archuleta would probably do better under these circumstances because he’s younger. I like Archuleta too, just not as much as Cook. Archuleta just seems like .. I don’t know. Kind of dorky I guess. But it is a cute kind of dorky .. I liked how he did Chris Brown last night :) That was so funny! Very cute.
