You have got to add Nathan and Tatiana into that group, no?
Great additions – kudos to you!

That would be the greatest AI show ever. Forget the auditions, Top 10, Finale, whatever.

AWESOME – can we put her in a group with Bikini Girl & Nelson/Norman? They could sell ticket to those rehearsals.
I’m pretty sure he was in a contract along with his Osmonds 2nd G band, making him ineligible. Could be wrong ??
The Osmonds 2nd G did have a contract at one time, but I do not believe they currently have a contract now. In addition, I don’t know that David is offiically with the 2nd G these days (don’t know if he ever returned after battling with his illness).

Alan, I was responding to the discussion of why he had never audition in the past, and why he waited until his last year of eligibility age-wise. I know he’s not under contract now, but I was guessing that he hadn’t tried out earlier because of a contract. But actually, I guess the reason was due to the West Nile thing. Either way, it’s too bad. I would’ve like to have seen him as a top finalist this year.
No, I listened carefully because I had read this question. It wasn’t Mamas & Papas. In a weird way it sounded like Jose Feliciano, but I’m sure it wasn’t! lol.
I defer to your judgement. It’s been a LONG time since I’d heard the song, and it sounded just like them from my memory.
Mama’s and the Papa’s were the original singers for California Dreaming but many artists have covered the song. It sounded lie them to me also, but I am too tired to pay attention,,,,hehehe
Definately Not the Moms and Pops. It sounded like a a cross between Nina Simone, and Norah Jones. I recognize the voice but can’t pull up the name. And Amy it did have Feliciano type phrasing so good call!
Well, it was me (Joyce) who mentioned Feliciano – so thanks.
oops! Whip me with a wet noodle.

    Sorrrrry, Joyce.
No need to be sorry!!

Yes, I know Mama’s & Papa’s originally sing it. I love their version and it pops up on my mp3 player a lot. Last night was one singer who had a Jose Feliciano-esque quality to his voice. Kind of that light warbling to the notes. Hard to describe. Definitely wasn’t M’s & P’s. At least it didn’t sound like them to me, but what do I know?

I don’t know. I think there is a 29 or 30 year old in this competition as well. David may have another opportunity if he chooses to return next year.
I am probably wrong, but I thought that as long as they were 28 on the day of their initial audition, it was okay. Their birthday could be the very next day, making them 29, and that would be okay. Corrections, anyone?
But I still wonder why he waited so long to audition in the first place – he’s obviously talented. I do remember that he has… MS, I think, and it has been off and on in remission, so maybe that had something to do with it.
