You have got to add Nathan and Tatiana into that group, no?
Great additions – kudos to you!

That would be the greatest AI show ever. Forget the auditions, Top 10, Finale, whatever.

AWESOME – can we put her in a group with Bikini Girl & Nelson/Norman? They could sell ticket to those rehearsals.
I’m pretty sure he was in a contract along with his Osmonds 2nd G band, making him ineligible. Could be wrong ??
The Osmonds 2nd G did have a contract at one time, but I do not believe they currently have a contract now. In addition, I don’t know that David is offiically with the 2nd G these days (don’t know if he ever returned after battling with his illness).

Alan, I was responding to the discussion of why he had never audition in the past, and why he waited until his last year of eligibility age-wise. I know he’s not under contract now, but I was guessing that he hadn’t tried out earlier because of a contract. But actually, I guess the reason was due to the West Nile thing. Either way, it’s too bad. I would’ve like to have seen him as a top finalist this year.

I defer to your judgement. It’s been a LONG time since I’d heard the song, and it sounded just like them from my memory.
Mama’s and the Papa’s were the original singers for California Dreaming but many artists have covered the song. It sounded lie them to me also, but I am too tired to pay attention,,,,hehehe
Definately Not the Moms and Pops. It sounded like a a cross between Nina Simone, and Norah Jones. I recognize the voice but can’t pull up the name. And Amy it did have Feliciano type phrasing so good call!
Well, it was me (Joyce) who mentioned Feliciano – so thanks.
Yes, I know Mama’s & Papa’s originally sing it. I love their version and it pops up on my mp3 player a lot. Last night was one singer who had a Jose Feliciano-esque quality to his voice. Kind of that light warbling to the notes. Hard to describe. Definitely wasn’t M’s & P’s. At least it didn’t sound like them to me, but what do I know?

I am probably wrong, but I thought that as long as they were 28 on the day of their initial audition, it was okay. Their birthday could be the very next day, making them 29, and that would be okay. Corrections, anyone?
But I still wonder why he waited so long to audition in the first place – he’s obviously talented. I do remember that he has… MS, I think, and it has been off and on in remission, so maybe that had something to do with it.
David has the following on his MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/davidosmondmusic) that explains why he hasn’t tried out before.

    ———-

I was forced to put music on hold for several years due to a physical battle with the West Nile Virus which in turn triggered Multiple Sclerosis. I am still fighting this MS, so I’ve dedicated myself to raising awareness and resources for Non-Profit Charities over the last several years. For more information on this, go to: http://www.uPlej.org/DavidOsmond

I married the love of my life, Valerie, in April of 2007! We are expecting our first child in April of 2009… and it’s a girl!!!
David’s Dad, Alan Osmond, also has Multiple Sclerosis.

I believe 28 is still the age limit, and I also believe they set a date in either July or early August for which you must still be 28 by in order to go to the initial audition. After that, if you turn 29 during the show it’s okay.

Thank you for all the support and positive messages you have sent my way! Now that I can finally talk about what happened, all I can say is on the 5th day in Hollywood, after making it through the preliminary cuts, I got laryngitis on group day. I had NEVER lost my voice like that in my life! I had to go out on stage, knowing that 30 million viewers would see me sing my heart out with NO voice! And the ironic thing is, IDOL chose NOT to show it–no explanation why they cut me!

I am going to post a blog in a few hours, going into more detail, so please check back!

The support has been overwhelming, and I can’t thank you all enough! God Bless!- Sincerely, David
Hopefully he will try out again next year.

Well, keep it handy to play when Tatiana gets booted off. She’s evil psycho witch number two.

Is Darryl going to be able to do the show tonight now or will he be home crying :ninja:
He’ll be on, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he acts like Idol is playing an early April Fools joke. He tried that last year when Amanda Overmyer went buh-bye!

  65. Gee…now didn’t THAT crotch shot just make my night…

If they have ever watched Idol they would know it was coming. It would have been smart to have started early on.
It would seem a logical choice. However, how many of these goofballs are actually logical? Remember I include the judges and Ryan in the goofball category.

  71.
That Tatiana is such a whack job, how could any producer want to work with her?
Isn’t she, though? It’s amazing how big her ego is. And she’s not good enough to have that big of an ego. I can’t imagine anyone ever wanting to give her a record deal because of it.

Keep in mind, though, that AI didn’t have a group round last year. That may have thrown a few people for a loop (though they did announce it was coming back this year).

  73. Clearly, Ryan got a hold of something illegal during Hollywood week cause he’s clearly seeing things that aren’t there. Paula, evil????????

I think that is a fair assessment. The psycho REALLY comes out for group night!

These are choices that could either make or break it for them

Rose and Katrina are in the same group along with two other girls. Danny and Jamar are in the same group with two girls I don’t recognize. Forget this – I’ve got to watch!!!
