American Idol continued its quest for the Top 24 singers in America as we once again headed to Hollywood for hell week. The field was already narrowed from 175 to 99 and we will again cut that number in half tonight before the final round of judging tomorrow on FOX. Top 24 is right around the corner but first tonight is group competition.
The first group of girls for Day 3 included Paris and Stephanie and some other girl sent home. While I thought all three sounded terrible, they were put through. Even Simon thought they were pitifull but it itsn’t all based on this performance. Paris should be and will be Top 24. Stephanie, I’m not sure about.
Anthony, Elliot, Sway and Terrell were in the first group of males for the day and the only one that I think sounded good was Sway and he was the one who went to bed in the group. The judges put all but Anthony through and I was kind of suprised. I thought when Terrell started crying like a baby about Elliot and Sway going to bed the judges would have sent him packing. They didn’t and I have to deal with him for one more episode at least. I really don’t like him, Sway and Elliot, I do.
Kevin Covias, Josh Jordan, David Radford and William Makur made up the rat pack and I loved all four of them. The four of them were in sync, they practiced and it showed. I see a lot of potential in all 4 of them. If I had to pick the weakest here, I would say it was William. Paula sent all 4 through.
Derrell, Terrells brother, was also sent through. Of course just like his brother, he had something stupid to say. I really don’t know what he was talking about. He thought the judges had sent his brother home when in fact they hadn’t and he freaked out. In spite he quit and walked off the stage. Wonder if Simon will let him beg for his spot back? I wouldn’t. Both him and his brother can leave as far as I am concerned. They can’t sing and they cry over everything. Ryan did bring Derrell back in front of Simon to apologize. Again he ran his mouth and Simon cut him off telling him the judges would decide his fate in 30 minutes. Back in front of Simon one last time, Derrell apologized again and Simon allowed them to stay.
The three-some with Marcy Smith, Brenna Gethers and Nick Whitten was strange. I didn’t really like Nick and I don’t remember seeing Marcy before but I really like her even though she forgot her words. Simon put all 3 through, but I don’t know how much of Brenna I can take. She is 100 times worse than Mikalah was last season and Mikalah was annoying. I see a lot of drama with this chick, a lot of drama. Maybe she will get cut tomorrow night just to spare us. That would be nice even though she can sing.
The 3 cowboys wrapped up the night and were all over the place. Even the backup vocals were terrible. I am sorry to say I wouldn’t put any of them through. Simon thought the same and he sent them all home. Poor Garret. At least he can fly on a plane again. Group day is complete (Day 3). Dreams were shattered, hopes were crushed and Garret is returning to the ranch.
We then turned quickly to day 4 where each contestant was allowed to sing one of 95 songs acapella in front of the judges. The theater was then locked down while Simon, Paula and Randy deliberated the fate of who will return for the final round of judging tomorrow night.
The contestants were grouped into 4 rooms as in previous seasons. Room 1 was sent home. Room 2 was sent through. Room 3 was sent through. Room 4 was also sent through.
If someone can verify all the names via a comment I will post them. I have posted the rumored Top 24 in the Comments. It will probably be 100% accurate.
Well thats it for tonight. A lot of talent has made it through, while a lot of dreams have been crushed. 44 contestants still have one more shot at making the all important Top 24. Who will make the magic list? Tune into tomorrow night while we find out our Top 24.

American Idol is BULLSHIT…i am bond by contract not to say much but lets just say the show is rigged they know who the top 24 is from the first auditions…they dont show everyone…the producers pick the fake people and follow them for the rest of the entire auditions …I know someone VERY close who CAN sing but because she wasn’t MS. Personality her talent go over looked and told she needed to develop as a person which you will be seeing tonight when they pick the top 24 …it is a TALENT show…she has had sooooooo many different offers from jermaine dupri to babyface to Tommy Motolla..she can sannnng…so let me just say sadly you guys havent heard everyone nor the best…the show is FAKE and is full of bull crap…however it is a show so they need drama and fake bouncy people to keep in the viewers…just a lil info from the INSIDE!!!

I agree with the pointless “Brokeback Mountain” parody. Why do it when they all got rejected? And lindsAy hit it on the nose when she said that Garrett looks like a goblin or something! The word Oompa Loompa came to mind. He looks like a white Oompa Loompa! Yes, it’s mean, but I can’t help it. He does look like one.

Okay, this was a really long comment but I shortened it a lot LOL. First of all, Paris was awful tonight. Hopefully it was just the song choice. Every other time I’ve heard her sing, she was pretty good.
In the group with Terrell, I thought all 3 of the OTHER guys were good, and Terrell sucked… Looks like a publicity stunt to me. Especially after what his brother did and they took him back!! Gotta get viewers somehow, right?
The chick Tyra that kept switching groups, she sounds like a man… or Cher… same difference I guess =P Damn her for making it to the next round! Thank god she was cut in the end though.

I feel like he is getting more air time in an effort to joke him, not support him… It was hard to tell how the other 2 sang because Garet was so crappy and it over powered them LOL! He’s kind of freaky looking too… He looks like some sort of goblin, or elf or something…

I don’t see the charm of Paris Bennett. She didn’t sound good and it seems that she might just be there only so Randy can kiss up to her grandmother.
I’m glad they cut Turkey Boy; he clearly wasn’t ready for the big show.
Why did they let the Warren Sapp twins through? 1) They were awful, and 2) their attitudes are terrible. The only thing I can think of is that Fox wanted to keep them around for some manufactured drama.
I wouldn’t mind if the top 24 turned out to be true, a couple of people are in there that I really like. I don’t really get how they did the rooms though .. how did 3 rooms get through and not only 2? O_O;
I can’t stand Terrell & Derrell. -_-; They have the most annoying attitudes, even though it did seem like they got better towards the end, but not by much. The little Brokenote Mountain thing was pretty cute and despite their poor performance, I really liked the three cowboys. Their so sweet to each other it makes me want to cry. T_T;
