Instead of the normal caption this post today and Tuesday we are going to take a second and look back at Season 7 and leave our favorite moment. Whether it be an audition, a specific performance or something that happened with the judges, take a second and leave a comment with your thoughts.
Keep in mind we all have an opinion and bashing or out of control comments in this post will cause it to be closed immediately. I know tensions are mounting with the final performances tomorrow but we need to keep level heads, act like adults and remember American Idol is only a TV Show.
As for my favorite moment in Season 7, well I didn’t have one. The whole season was a blur for me and nothing at all sticks out in my mind as memorable. Absolutely nothing. I will however share my favorite moment from a previous season in the little video below. Nothing will ever beat this in my book short of Shyamali Malakar returning to sing in the nude.

Oh ya, just rememberd this one, Simon to Castro “what on earth were you thinking” ? with all of his brittish sarcasam. Castro trying to keep from laughing retorting with equall sarcasam…I was thinking Bob Marley, WHAT? Definitly a pricless moment in time.
I loved Daydream, Hallelujah, Fragile, If I Fell, Travellin’ Thru, Over the Rainbow, I Don’t Wanna Cry, Forever in Blue Jeans,… Can you tell who my favorite is? Jason, “go figure”!
My favorite AI moment of Season 7 was marvelling at the strapless, too-tight gown that had Paula’s .. uh … twin ASSETS … overflowing. :w00t:
wellll, at the risk of sounding like a suck up, my favourite moment this season was discovering this blog.
Truly.
Oh and DC.
That is awesome, tricia!
Sorry, had to list three:
#3 – David Cook’s emotions. So tender they were hot! Hope to see more tears tomorrow night!
#2 – Chikezie’s “She’s a Woman”. One of my all-time favorite Idol performances.
#1 – “I was thinkin’ Bob Marley! YEAH!”, followed the next night by the most joyful and fun sing-out ever on Idol. It’s just a shame it had to be cut short thanks to the earlier yammering from RJ and PA (bleh).
Thanks, Jason, for making the entire season memorable!

# 4 Let It Be – brilliant in the Bend It Like Beckham sense of the word.
Jason Castro’s “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” after learning how to play a ukulele that week.
David Cook’s “Billie Jean”.
Ramiele standing between Brooke & Kristy (I think it was them) and almost getting squashed. “You guys are too tall” – coming from someone south of the Disney ride height requirement.
And, of course, DA’s “Where’d they all park?” during his visit back home.
I have a hard time using the word “brilliant” in association with anything American Idol. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show, but there have been very few moments that have blown me away, but I still can’t even call those things brilliant.
Just my two cents. (Add that to my 10 other 2 cents and that makes 22 cents!)
“Here you Come Again” by Carly (brilliant) and the judges reaction to it. This was the moment that confirmed they (especially Simon) were targeting her for elimination
Even though I really did not like the call in questions – I have to say that Simon’s first kiss was truly memorable. It shows that deep down somewhere in that man – there is a human being. Loved that moment and wont forget it. In fact Simon is on Leno right now and he is talking about this moment and saying how uncomfortable he was with the call in!!
Ok, I must say, aside from the other performances I already mentioned, I think Chikeze’s rendition of “She’s A Woman” was awesome! I loved every second of it. It was entertaining and fun and come on, the argyle sweater was just icing on that cake!
Chikezie’s performance wowed me too, I loved his energy. I was grinning ear to ear after hearing that, it was very fun.

I think just about every performer in the top 12 had at least one performance that really stood out in my mind. (…Michael Johns and DC I guiltly admit had more than a few, they were two of my favorites.).
Jason had three performances I really liked: SOTR, I Don’t Wanna Cry, and definitely Hallelujah.
Brooke also had three: loved “Let it Be”; “You’re So Vain”; and “Love is a Battlefield.” I don’t think she quite impressed me as much after the point of “Jolene”, but she was good, and I’m sure she’ll go far post-Idol.
David A had two performances that stood out to me in his run: “Imagine” and probably “And So it Goes”. Just very well done on his part.
Those are just a few of my favorite moments from the show, but I could write a book to list more.
As a bonus, if I had to choose favorite exit interview by one of the idols, it’d have to be Jason’s (because he made me laugh quite a bit) or Michael Johns.
3rd Favorite moment was Paula’s soothsaying re: Jason’s second performance (this is actually a tandem entry combined with Randy’s vision of the future regarding Syesha being third). If they could only tell me who was going to win the World Series this year and if Big Brown will win Belmont, I could make some serious cash.
Half way between nasville and chatanooga, didnt know she was touring. Can you tell me where to find her dates?
I liked Jason’s Hallelujah and a bunch of David Cook’s numbers but my favorite moment was the expression on Simon’s face during Fantasia’s performance. The look was one for the ages! :w00t:
Amada O was electrifiying, now that gal can rock. So much raw talent & potential there. She just missed making the tour, bummer for her. She just didnt’ seem to show enough intrest in winning. If she does decide to go for it and got the right breaks, she could be another Janis Joplin or close to it.
Hey Lee,
Don’t know where you are located but she is playing the Whiskey in LA this Saturday.

Cristie Lee Cooks’ last song before she was sent home amazed me, titled “Forever” or something like that. For the first time I saw how special and talented she truley is. She won my heart over that night and I hope she has a succesful future.
My favourite moment for Season 7 would definitely be Jason Castro performing “Hallelujah”. I had kind of liked him before that, but like Bon said – when he performed that night the world stood still just for those moments…it was perfect!
My second favourite moment: Jason Castro performing “Somewhere over the Rainbow”.
Jason was the most memorable part of this season in my eyes (other than Danny Noriega’s attitude, which for the most part I actually found quite funny, and the night he wore those waaaay tight leather pants, which is memorable but not in a good way!)….
For me, the biggest moment was the terror of “Omigosh-he’s-gonna-sing-Hello-and-he’s-going-to-crash-and-burn-and-this-is-a-bad-bad-bad-bad-idea”!
I hung there what seemed like forever until I realized that not only did David Cook sing “Hello”, but that it was the coolest that that song has ever sounded!
Too funny. That is exactly the same thing I thought!
My favorite moment was when Jason Castro was voted off! Actually I have a lot. When Syesha sang “Proud Mary”! When Paula messed up when critiquing Jason. Entertainingly watching Kristy Lee Cook’s disastrous “Eight Days A Week”. When Danny Noriega was voted off. When David Cook became my favorite guy in the Top 20. When Syesha was number 1 on Dialidol. Entertainingly watching Castro’s disastrous top 4 performances… and the list just goes on and on…
How could I forget Jason and Cookie in those bull fighting outfits?? THAT was some funny stuff!
Ok, I’m done for a while.
Carry on.
How could I forget that ! Those Bullfighting outfits were hilarious on them !!! :w00t:
When Jason sang “Daydream” I thought, How cute! Then he sang “I Just Want to Be Your Everything” and I really liked his performance. But when he sang “Hallelujah”, I froze, mesmerized, time stopped, my family’s comments sounded like “wah wah wah WAH wah” and that was THE moment when I was locked into the swoongeon.
I’ve purchased a few AI performance videos from iTunes (Jason’s, of course, and Michael’s), but I also bought Chickezie’s “She’s a Woman”, and it is still my absolute favorite. I have watched it dozens of times, and it never fails to thrill me! It was the quintessentially perfect American Idol performance of all time. The studio version was okay, but when he performed it in front of the audience, it was as if he was enraptured and took the audience along with him.
Another extreme and favorite moment…Amanda singing “Baby Please Don’t Go”. I don’t think Idol has ever seen anything that hot, steamy and funky. She totally brought the lust.

I will always remember the devastation when Michael Johns was eliminated MUCH too early.
Imagine by Archie and Hallelujah by Jason were awesome moments for me.
Just about ANY Michael Johns and Jason Castro moment was memorable for me.
I’ll be back with more specific memories in a bit.
I started watching this season after all the “Imagine” publicity, so that performance is pretty memorable for me. I also loved Brooke’s “You’re So Vain,” Chikezie’s “She’s a Woman,” Michael John’s “It’s All Wrong, But It’s All Right,” and Cook’s “Billie Jean.” As for contestants’ comments, Archie’s “Where do they all park?” question had me in stitches.
That has to be my all-time favorite quote from Archie! “Where do they all park?” I SWEAR that is something I would ask, even in the midst of all the adoration. Loved it!
Michael Johns getting booted off too early.
Jason forgetting a whole line in his song, only to add lalalalalalala. I felt so bad for him.
Jason getting eliminated.
Fantasia’s AWFUL song and dance that she performed last week. YUK.
Paula telling Jason: “Now your second song…” before he even sang it yet.
Paula acting high.
Anything to do with Danny Noriega. Awful.
These are the moments not so nice for me.
But I STILL loved Season 7 of American Idol.

David A. singing “Imagine” and “Smokey Mountain Memories”
Jason singing “Over the Rainbow”
Kristy singing “God Bless the U.S.A.”
These are my favorite moments.

Does anyone else remember when Simon choked on the “sweet” in his mouth? That was funny!
Isn’t it common sense to use the door on the right when you are leaving AND when entering ??? :silly:
Favoite moment beyond doubt…ISH
Ok, I must say, aside from the other performances I already mentioned, I think Chikeze’s rendition of “She’s A Woman” was awesome! I loved every second of it. It was entertaining and fun and come on, the argyle sweater was just icing on that cake!
Ok, so maybe I should just say, “The entire season was memorable to me.” and be done with it. :silly:
OK, sorry, but I’m dominating this topic tonight with all these comments.
This one is for my girl, ABB (aka Amy)…
JACK!!!
This was also a memorable year as far as back-talkers go. David C turned me off WAY early on by being a jerk to the judges and let’s not forget Danny Noriega! Gah..that guy got on my last nerve. Chikeze kinda back-talked too back at the beginning, but I was happy that Cookie and Chikeze both stopped.
PS I am NOT talking about talking TO the judges. I am talking about smart assiness! Brooke talked a LOT and I think that was her nerves. There were others who talked TO the judges as well. Now, I would much rather they ALL just shut up and listened and let that be the end of it, but as long as it wasn’t cocky or smart ass, then I’m ok with it.
I will always remember the devastation when Michael Johns was eliminated MUCH too early.
