Cook looks like he is having a great time and kicking back at the game. The other two did pretty standard anthems, note transpositions, frills and chills, nothing wrong with either of them. Nothing special either.

I too am a purist…I prefer to hear the original version sung in the key the person can handle.
I heard Carrie Underwood sing the National anthem during a playoff game in 2006….it was SOOOO beautiful! She didn’t try to jazz it up, or add runs etc.
I thougt David C did a fine job with Take Me Out To the Ball Game…and it was wonderful that he opted to let the elementary school choir, who I’m practiced many weeks before their performance, go ahead and sing the national anthem….VERY classy move…Drednerds everywhere must be VERY proud of him!

Well of course David A. and Syesha’s songs sounded better … they were singing the national anthem! Rather than take the honor away from the elementary choir that was already scheduled to sing, he opted to sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame. You CANNOT compare his song to what David A. and Syesha sang … there is no comparison. Can you imagine Syesha singing that song?

Loved both of them :happy: I thought they both did a great job with it though I think Syesha might have drawn out her notes a little more on certain parts of it.
If I had to choose a favorite, it’d probably be Archie’s version; I thought the notes were well placed, and there were actually a few times that I had goosebumps with some of the notes.

Archuleta can NEVER stick to a song’s original melody. The national anthem is rich enough in melody he doesn’t need to add more. Hated it.
Syesha did a beautiful job. The anthem is very hard for a woman to sing.

Did anyone notice that Syesha’s face was distorted in some of the video? Maybe it was shadows cast on her, but it was difficult to watch.
