It took me a while to get this up here but these folks quickly cleared their schedules where necessary and gave of themselves to help the suffering people of Haiti. Nobody made them participate in the event, they just jumped in at the first opportunity.
All things considered, I think we owe them a thank you for a job well done. Remember that this was all flung together on short notice. I think they did well with what they had.
Also, Taylor Swift is beginning to grow on me a bit. She really can be a nice lady.
Oh, wow, it’s over??? I didn’t want that to end!! It was so refreshing to have stars just sing and not be over the top and flashy. I want those songs!!!
I am glad that is over. Honestly that was one of the worst things I have ever seen put together. They could have done so much better with the talent they had involved. oh well. hope they make some money
I wonder if the celebrities are going to stay during the west coast broadcast. It’s only on CNN here right now, but will be on all the others at 8 our time.
@ Joyce:
Martin..Morris..I was close. (Dang internet. I guess you can’t believe everything!)
The song was indeed lovely. I want many of these songs as downloads. I know they are available, or will be, on itunes. Bubba has itunes and an iPod (which he won) but that doesn’t help me. :(
And I can’t think of the name of the guy he’s singing with, but it’s a guy Justin signed to his label. They sang together on a talk show this week. (Can’t remember which one it was.) He’s good, I like him.
@ Dr. Electro:
Yep. I couldn’t agree more.
Plus, I already like Taylor Swift. She’s such a cutie and always seems genuine and sweet.

Thank you for posting those, Slim. Considering the whole show put you to sleep and all.
Wow, I just LOVE Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris singing Hallelujah. Any chance of putting that in the “secret spot”???
some of the videos are up
@ angie:
Ditto

@ DJSlim:
Really? I enjoyed it.

And that’s a wrap.
Diggin’ Wyclef.
Neil is ruining this.
Dave.
Neil Young’s voice has always bugged me.
@ angie:
great minds think alike
@ Joyce:
Ha ha…on twitter I said, Brad. Shave it.
I LOVE U2. Jay Z and Rhianna…not so much.

Brad… shave.
@ Joyce:
Oh yes, I’ve been researching him in the last 5 minutes. :)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Morris_%28musician%29
Matt Morris. He kind of even looks like Justin. The stocking cap makes me wonder if he has male pattern baldness though. Kind of like Leif Garrett.

Jennifer “lips” Hudson singing Let It Be. Very nice.
Matt Morris is his name. And that song was just lovely. I really enjoyed it.
I just read elsewhere…it’s Matt Martin.
@ Joyce:
I was just trying to figure that out. I like him!

@ Joyce:
LOVE!!
Justin Timberlake singing Hallelujah. Love it.
@ Joyce:
Madonna kind of looked like she was in pain.
@ angie:
That’s too funny, Angie!!
So, when Morgan Freeman was on, Braelyn walks in and says, “Look! It’s God!”
(If you haven’t seen Bruce Almighty, never mind.)
Oh my, the choir director behind Madonna is very, um, demonstrative?
@ angie:
You comment hog, you!
I won’t guarantee how long I’ll stay.
I love Anderson Cooper.
So glad you are commenting, Joyce. I was feeling quite lonely in my comment hogginess.
I really need to go pee, but I don’t want to miss any of this. I want to see it live.
Heck of a threesome…Kid Rock, Sheryl Crowe, Keith Urban singing Lean On Me. They sound really really good!
I like the trio with Cheryl Crow, Kid Rock, and Keith Urban.
Steven Spielberg is really having a heck of a conversation with this pastor.
@ angie:
oveRRRcome
When Christina Aguilera was shown from a distance, I thought it was Kat McPhee.
Beyonce sings Halo with piano only. (I don’t like her long bangs.)
Robert Pattinson makes his appearance
and then Sting performs. Love Sting!
I like Christina Aguilera’s mom hair. She looks cute. (I say mom hair because I think it makes her look more mature. It’s not a bad thing.)
Taylor Swift was good. She’s a doll.
Jon Stewart speaking seriously.
Then Mary J. Blige. (I’m not sure of the name of the song. Maybe, ‘Hard Times Come Again No More.)
A live call taken by Reece Witherspoon from a guy named Ian who donated.
Anderson Cooper speaks with a man who runs an orphanage in Haiti.
Bless all those babies’ hearts. Such a desperate situation.
John Legend is awesome.
@ DJSlim:
That will be enough. No need to blog it.
(Plus you have my play by play in comments. lol)
Wyclef Jean tells his story of going to Haiti last week.
Shakira sings “I’ll Stand By You.” (They should have had Carrie sing it. I love her version.)
@ angie:
I decided not to live blog it either. to hard. just gonna put up the performances later tonight
Anderson Cooper is still in Port Au Prince.
I wonder if Haiti will ever be completely cleaned up? So sad.
Leo DiCaprio told a story and Stevie Wonder sings “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
(I obviously can’t NOT live blog things.)
@ angie:
yep about one minute into Bruce they went to a commercial. I switched to CBS
@ DJSlim:
NO WAY!! I’m watching on ABC.
I enjoyed Bruce Springsteen singing “We Shall Overcome.”
FOX sucks ass. Right in the middle of a performance they break for commerical. total losers
The story Halle Berry told gave me chills. I can not even imagine all those children in Haiti with no parents. This is killing me.
:cwy:
@ angie:
and they probably weren’t expecting the traffic they are getting. sucks to be them.
@ DJSlim:
I can imagine. Sooo much traffic!
the hope for haiti site is already down
@ angie:
she sure did :)
Wow! Lots of big names on the phones taking donations.
Acoustic Cold Play–they sound really good, though not much different than plugged-in Coldplay. :) I don’t mean anything bad by that, at all.
Alicia Keys opened the show beautifully.
Idols Jennifer Hudson, Katharine McPhee and David Archuleta
