Hey everybody! Are we already at the first elimination of the top 12?? Time flies, huh? After the dramatic recap from last night, Ryan appears in the audience to say Happy St Patrick’s Day and to let Kieran, the lighting director, play with all the green lights in the studio. He greets the judges and Sime gives Ry a pretend hard time and wait. What??? They STILL have the option of the judges’ save??? Really?? It’s not that I don’t like it, because I do. I’m fine with it. It’s just that there has been NO mention of the save at all, this year. Interesting.
Ryan introduces David Cook and his forehead singing “Jumping Jack Flash.” He sounds pretty fab and is still a cool guy. After, Ryan chats him up about upcoming albums and other things. After the break, we’ll get some results. Stay tuned!
First Ford video of the season is “Tick Tick Boom.” It features the kids driving around in Fords throwing paintballs at each other. Cute. Casey wasn’t able to be in the video because of the flu, but he was able to go to Ford to design their own Fiesta.
Time for lights dimmage and the SSSoD! Dun dun dun!! Paige stands first and she….gets a stool! She is in the bottom 3! Leta Wise is next. He fumbles he way through an answer to a question from Ryan. I love him, but he ain’t eloquent. Lee is SAFE! Siobhan and her cute self is SAFE!! Ryan scares the be-hay-suess out of Andrew, but he is SAFE! Tim gets an SSSoD!
Orianthi performs next and I can’t help but to wish this was another ex idol instead. Taylor…or Kelly..or Michael Johns..or anyone from a previous season. HEY! I just realized they didn’t do a group song tonight! What the H? I wanted a poorly lip synched Rolling Stones medley!!
One stool left…who will get it? Didi stands first. She looks really pretty tonight. Ryan puts her on the spot a little and talks about her mom. Didi is SAFE!! Crystal is up next. Crystal says a lot of great stuff about how she is not being arrogant and she just performs what comes naturally. I love her and she is SAFE!! Katie in yellow is SAFE!! Big Mike! Love that big ol’ dude! Mike is SAFE!!!
Casey and Lacey are last to stand together. Lacey looks cute with a ginormous flower in her hair and she gets the last SSSoD! Casey is SAFE!!
The bottom three come to center stage with Ryan and he sends one back to safety. It’s…. TIM!!! Ha ha ha ha ha…people are freaking out everywhere, right now! I love it! Tim has never been as bad as the judges make him out to be. No, he would never win, but he’s got a decent voice. Way to shake it up, America!!
More filler. Ke$ha singing “Blah Blah Blah” featuring 3(OH!)3. I can not even explain the suckitude. The auto tune. The lyrics. Shoot me now. (I realize I’ll get crap for saying that, but I don’t much care.)
Final lights dimmage! Lacey and Paige try not to have heart attacks as Ryan drags it out. Paige is SAFE!! Lacey sings “The Story” so the judges can pretend to think about using the save on her, which they will not. There is something very endearing about Lacey and her voice. I like her. Bless her heart, she is flat and her voice is wavering. But, she gives it the old college try so the judges can shoot her hopes down.
Ryan asks Simon if they are using the save and he says it was unanimous. They are NOT using the save. Lacey is going home. She’s sweet and teary-eyed but takes it well. Goodbye montage as the other idols hug and say goodbye.
Well, there you have it. I personally think Paige or Katie should have gone first, but I’m OK with Lacey going. What did YOU think? Leave your thoughts in comments!

The show was still horrible. ALL of it.
I was a little surprised that Andrew wasn’t in the bottom 3. I thought he was worse than Tim. As for my girl Katie, I think last night was a perfection illustraion of the often schziod process called “commentary”. She was told within 45 seconds by three experienced judges that she should sing in 3 different styles. Actually I agree with Simon (more country :cheerful: ). Perhaps the charming and talented Katie should take it as a compliment, ie, she’s very versatile and can handle a broad range. About 4 years ago they had the group do “Broadway”. Now you may not like that type of music, but it did force some singers into revealing definite flaws. And a good morning shoutout to my friend Starshine.
Marks my words- judges will use the save on Lee around week 7 or 8, he’ll finally rebound and make it to Final 4 until Didi, Siobhan, and Crystal make the first all-girl Final 3 since… Season 3?
Thought for sure Tim should have been packing :ermm:

I picked it perfectly for my pool. As much as I wanted LAcey to turn it around, he terrible arrangement last night was awful. And even more awful was her “save” song.
Now that save will make me adjust the rules of my pool which I hoped was finally set.
I think Lacey,Tim, Paige,Andrew Are all on level ground in the bottom. But Lacey was my favorite eye candy :heart: . So based on my shallow reasoning I’m disappointed. I hoped she would have made the tour. :smile:

IMO, of course.
2 out of 3 guest appearances were either good (cookie – although anyone remembering that the Stones played Rock n’ Roll was bound to look good after last night) or really good and real honest to god music(Orianthi). Ke$ha was popular and a bad singer (not the worst Tim and Katie live to suck another day) went home but the show was not bad…

Kesha’s performance was way way awful, even with those dancing TVs!!! Idol just hit a new low for tackiness. I was surprised that dancing TVs would return to our TV screens in more than 50 years!
