As some of you may already know, American Idol sent me my official “cease and desist” letter. It sucks but I knew it would happen. I really wasn’t doing American Idol any harm but I will do as they ask. I have been asked to remove all links to any episode downloads (done), remove the American Idol Logo from my graphic at the top of the blog (done) and remove any American Idol images from this season (done). As long as I refrain from using any American Idol Property the blog can remain open. So with that said nothing will change other than you won’t be able to download the episodes from me. I will still post a review upon completion of each episode and hope my regulars will comment still. I will update the polls and add new ones each week and we will still have Scorecards, I will just make them.
I did have to remove the American Idol Logo from my header graphic. I did and I hate what I came up with. I didn’t make the original one anyways. If someone would like to touch it up and make it look better or try something different, I would love it. Drop me something via Email and I will post the best one. Please try to keep it the same size as the one I am using now.
I know this sucks but I don’t have the money to fight the Big Dogs. I am just flattered I entered into their radar. To think they feel that threatened by my simple blog amazes me. Oh well. What can one do. I know I am going to frame the letter. I guess its my moment of AI fame. Maybe they should feature a special episode on all the bloggers they have shut down or silenced in some way. We have helped spread American Idol all over the globe and haven’t charged them any advertising fees :)

If American Idol offered the season on DVD at the end of the season along with some other special features we would’t have to download episodes each week and they would make money that way

Yeah thats what I don’t understand Dave. The torrents are all over the internet. A simple google search is how I found my source of the downloads. All I was doing was linking to them. I didn’t actually offer the downloads myself. Seems they don’t care. They just think we are hurting the show. They are so confused
I’m sorry to see that the Heavy Hand of Fox caught up with you, DJ Slim. I wonder if Fox realises that people will still find the torrent files whether Fox wants them to or not. What a bunch of greedy schmoes.

Makes no sense. The episodes were shown FREE on TV, right? It’s not like you bought a DVD, made copies of it, and are distributing it off the internet. How different is this from someone taping an episode and showing it to a bunch of friends later on?

How did they even know what you were doing?!!?! so stupid.. I guess people have to just tape the episodes now.
I think they royally suck!! At least I got all 4 Ep’s so far off the site, which is great, as I always miss the Wed night ones…
They just don’t understand that the extra opportunities to watch/re-watch and pick faves are what keeps some of us interested anyhow.
Too bad they are such stupid morons!!
