i have from the start of season 7 and still think this guy will go as far as kelly clarkson did. he has a smokin hot sexy voice and knows how to use it to make his fanbase happy. kudos, michael!

Yes, “Fools Gold” is an excellent cut. It’s probably too long for commercial air play, but it could be a signature concert song for him.

“FOOLS GOLD” is one super bad jam. Michael takes it to that righteous place and brings it home. I’d like to learn to do this one myself. :smile: IT reminds me a little of Van Morrison’s musical style. Sad but beautiful.

I was a fan of Johns on AI, but I agree that while some of the songs here have potential none really hit the mark.
He also committed the cardinal sin of Idol: never cover/repeat a memorable performance by a past Idol contestant.
To Love Somebody… AI season 2… Clay Aiken… soooo much better than Johns’ version here!

My favorites are “Heart On My Sleeve” “Fool’s gold” (which I had a previous recording of and loved already) “This Is Goodbye” “It’s Too Late” “Heart Is Weak” and “Turn To You.”

Re releasing a big hit by a big band takes big ca ho nees, He pulls it of beautifully. That’s one of my favorite jams from back in the day. :smile:
I said this in the shoutbox earlier… I love this CD and the only sort of negative thing I have to say is I wish they had really captured the Michael who brought us, “It’s All Wrong, But It’s All right” on AI. That ‘thing’ is there in many of these songs, but for a few others, it’s allllmost, but not quite.
I do love my Michael! Off to listen to all these for the 5th time now. :heart:
I’m disappointed. He really should have signed with people who know how to record. I’m a big fan because he sounds very good in person. He just needs someone to help him record. Michael has a good voice, good looks, he’s just not very smart. You not only have to work hard Michael, you need to work smart. I do like a few songs ,so I will buy them.
