Update : Poll Now Closed. ET reported that Clay Aiken was the most successful American Idol contestant, while our little poll showed Carrie to be.
A news report last night on ET talked about who the most successful American Idol was and I completely disagreed. Of course I am not going to tell you who they were referring to since I am adding a poll to see who you all think is the most successful American Idol. Simply leave your vote in the poll below. I just looked up who has how many Grammy awards – Kelly has two and Carrie has three. None for any other idol. Carrie has also pulled in a lot of CMA (now they are calling themselves ACM) awards as well. I think both of them have at least one golden globe and one People’s Choice. That spells musical success more than pure sales numbers as far as i’m concerned. I still like Clay but the ET story was b888 s888.
Who has won more awards? I know Carrie is really hauling home the hardware whereas I have not heard of Clay winning a single award from anyone.
I voted for Clay, but my heart was with Carrie. Actually I tried to go back and change my vote to Carrie but oh well, give it another year and I think it really will be Carrie.

It could very well be Clay, now that I think back at all the albums he has released early in his career. He has since dropped off the radar and so he’s somebody you wouldn’t think would be the most successful Idol…

I choose KELLY. Carrie has sold 9 million with 2 albums and Kelly has also sold 9 million with her first two albums in the U.S! I know they are tied and Carrie’s 2nd album only has 2 singles (sales already past 2 million). IN the U.S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kelly hasold 14 million copies of her first 2 albums if you include ALL AROUND THE WORLD! Thats why Kelly is more successful! Carrie has got her first 2 albums in the Top 50 on the Australian COUNTRY charts but has sold no where near enough for the Top 100 all-genre chart. She is practicly un heard of in the U.K and Australia, there for KELLY is a bigger success!!!!!!!!
And Kellys 3rd album has sold 2 million with controversy and NO lable support. Kelly is returning I can promise U. Her next album is going to be made with: RYAN TEDDAR,MAX MARTAIN(Snce U Been Gone,Behind These Hazel Eyes) and possibly TIMBALAND!!!! Jordin Spaks debut has only gone GOLD but she is now INTERNATIONAL. “Tattoo” has so far reached #15 in Australia!!!! and is getting a U.K release @ the end of the month!!! “No Air” is already almost Top 10 and is almost as successful as “Tattoo” GO JORDIN!
Love Kelly to pieces but Carrie has really taken off into the stratosphere. Both are really great.
