Song Selections for Top 6

Real fast since I am on my way out the door. Here is the official song selection post for the Top 6. Following hand and hand with the Idol Gives Back show this week the theme is inspirational songs and to the best of my knowledge there isn’t a vocal coach. So do you have any thoughts on your song choices for each of the contestants? Simply leave a comment and we can all discuss. I will post the blank scorecard sometime tomorrow. Please check back if you would like to download it.

Sorry for the outages the past 24 hours. I was changing servers again. It needed to be done and hopefully now we won’t have any connection problems on performance and results night. For more on the move please see this post.

Moving Servers

Update : Anyone reading this is on the new server. I think I got all the kinks worked out this afternoon but there may still be some issues lurking. If you find anything not working properly, please let me know in a comment.

The plan is to stay here for the remainder of the season and throughout the off season. I have left the old server account intact. If we experience worse problems this week all I have to do is switch which server you all are viewing and we will be right back to where we were. I do think we will be fine on this server and everyone should be able to connect with no problems. I guess we will see on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I have finally had enough of the issues on people not being able to connect on performance and results night. I spent the last 2 nights searching numerous avenues and I think I have come up with a solution to the problem. At least I hope but it will require me to change servers over the weekend. Sometime on Saturday I will be moving the entire blog and everything will be down while I make the move. I am not going to cancel the current hosting account till after this weeks results show just in case the new host doesn’t work out. See everyone on the new server.

VFTW Pimps Phil

With Sanjaya out of the picture the famous website Vote for the Worst has chosen Phil as their next contestant to help push through to victory.

So what do you think? Leave any thoughts in a comment. Personally I thought they would have chosen someone else but Phil has had his rough weeks.

Kelly at the ASCAP Awards

While Sanjaya was being booted off American Idol, our first Idol Kelly Clarkson was busy winning some awards at the 2007 ASCAP Awards on Wednesday and wow the new look is hot. She tied for song of the year for “Because of You” and collected ASCAP Pop Awards for “Behind These Hazel Eyes” and “Walk Away.” Below are some pictures of Kelly from the awards show. Hope you enjoy. Simon Apology

Last night Simon actually apologized for the supposed look he gave Chris on performance night in regards to the comments Chris made about the VA Tech shooting. Idol even put together a little segment to help prove Simon wasn’t even paying attention to Chris, he was actually talking to Paula. See it before it is gone from youtube.

Video Removed and I couldn’t find a replacement

Personally after watching both the aired version and the producers version from last night I still think the eye roll was given towards Chris and not Paula. Of course I am reopening a huge can of worms with this post but I just have to know your thoughts after hearing and seeing last nights explanation. Leave your thoughts in a comment.

Episode 31 – Results

Tonight could be a shock. DialIdol puts Sanjaya at the bottom and Phil at the top. Will it finally happen? Will we bid farewell to the brother of Shyamali? We will know within the hour. Tonight is sure to rock the Idol world. Ladies and Gents, your results.

Note : The results show was blogged live via the East Coast Feed by angie again tonight. See the official bottom 3 and who went home below. It will be a shocker to some. Comments are turned on now but you may experience some issues while so many people are connected.

Statement From Nigel

I am sure you are expecting something like tonight will be the bigggest shocker in American Idol history but that isn’t what Nigel’s statement concerns. There has been much talk and controversy over Chris and his comments on the shooting at VA Tech after it appeared Simon rolled his eyes towards the comment. I personally didn’t even catch the moment but of course it still caused quite a stir in the Idol World. Here is what Nigel just had to say today in a statement.

“This is a sad time for everyone, so it is especially disheartening that a quick camera cutaway could have been misinterpreted. We’re sorry for any grief caused by this misunderstanding, but Simon was not reacting to Chris at that point. He had turned to speak to Paula and didn’t actually hear Chris’ final comments. Everyone at “American Idol” feels compassion for those affected by this tragedy. We opened the show with those thoughts and Simon later expressed sincere condolences on behalf of the judges, recognizing the challenges we all face in dealing with this horrible event.” – Nigel Lythgoe, Executive Producer, American Idol
