With the removal of episode downloads all over the American Idol Blogs, its time to ask the fans what they think. I have added a new poll to the sidebar asking if you think we should be able to have American Idol Episodes available for download? I am also adding the poll into this post. Leave your vote. Poll Closed – Results

I am looking for anyone that is running a fansite or Idol Blog. Send me your button or link via Email and I willl add it to the sidebar either under fansites or links. They must be season 5 contestants and Idol Blogs only. I also prefer buttons over links but will post either. My link back button can be found Here.

As some of you may already know, American Idol sent me my official “cease and desist” letter. It sucks but I knew it would happen. I really wasn’t doing American Idol any harm but I will do as they ask. I have been asked to remove all links to any episode downloads (done), remove the American Idol Logo from my graphic at the top of the blog (done) and remove any American Idol images from this season (done). As long as I refrain from using any American Idol Property the blog can remain open. So with that said nothing will change other than you won’t be able to download the episodes from me. I will still post a review upon completion of each episode and hope my regulars will comment still. I will update the polls and add new ones each week and we will still have Scorecards, I will just make them.

I did have to remove the American Idol Logo from my header graphic. I did and I hate what I came up with. I didn’t make the original one anyways. If someone would like to touch it up and make it look better or try something different, I would love it. Drop me something via Email and I will post the best one. Please try to keep it the same size as the one I am using now.

I know this sucks but I don’t have the money to fight the Big Dogs. I am just flattered I entered into their radar. To think they feel that threatened by my simple blog amazes me. Oh well. What can one do. I know I am going to frame the letter. I guess its my moment of AI fame. Maybe they should feature a special episode on all the bloggers they have shut down or silenced in some way. We have helped spread American Idol all over the globe and haven’t charged them any advertising fees :)

I have to take the episodes page down. I finally got a letter from the lawyers of American Idol. It seems it is for the episodes I have on this site as well as some problems on my Personal Blog. Sorry guys but I have been warning everyone. I have posted the letter for everyone to see. I will let you all know how I make out once I talk to the lawyer.

Update – I have spoken with the lawyer for American Idol and everything should be fine with my blog now. I was asked to remove the links to the episode and to remove the American Idol logo from my header graphic. I have complied and everything should be fine at this point. I was also told I couldn’t post any pictures from TV or from the official Idol site. I hadn’t at this point and now know I won’t. I am able to post any contestant pictures as long as they are taken by someone other than American Idol.

After the dreadfull 2 hours of awful auditions last night, American Idol returned tonight looking for hopefull singers in San Fran. I am so happy tonight is only 1 hour. I can’t deal with another 2 hour episode of people who think they can sing.

Another short review tonight. Once we get to the Top 24 I will review each individual contestant

I was shocked that the judges didn’t put Heidi through. I hated her first song with a passion but loved the second song. I really don’t think she yelled it like Randy and Paula mentioned. Paula said yes but Simon and Randy said no. C’mon guys Heidi was a lot better than most of the people put through last night. Anyone else agree? I guess it doesn’t matter though she was sent home without her Golden Ticket.

Jose (Sway) was decent. My wife loved him. She mentioned she just found her favorite. I wouldn’t call him my favorite but he was pretty good. Definate Hollywood material this season. He was sent through with flying colors which put a smile on my wifes face.

I don’t understand how Matthew thinks he sounds like Clay. Maybe Clay when he first wakes up or is sick but no where near the Clay that we remember. Thank god Simon didn’t put him through. That would have been quite an insult to Clay. By the way Ryan, how are we supposed to vote on whether Matthew was better than Clay. Matthew was sent packing. Maybe I am just confused.

Katharine wasn’t that bad. I have seen better singers this season but she deserves a shot at Hollywood. God knows she is a hell of a lot better than some of the people Simon has liked. I will say I agree with Simon. Some parts of the song were fantastic but I have to disagree with Randy. That wasn’t the best female voice we have seen this season. Lisa blows her away.

Shalicia should have thought twice before she quit her job to come on American Idol. Actually after that audition you probably would have been fired if you hadn’t already quit. Pack your bags and go home. You suck and you destroyed the Pussycat Dolls. 3 no’s, thank god. At least Simon got Shalicia’s job back for her.

Yet another 16 year old that can sort of sing. Shawna was awful on her first song but when she delivered a little Alicia Keys, she blew me away. I really thought I was listening to Alicia. Thank you Paula and Randy for putting Shawna through. Yes Randy, Simon is a little crazy today. Like I have said in the past, anyone who can sing Alicia Keys is awesome in my book.

Jane is the hot little Asian girl that Travis over at Watch Idol was asking me about in an Email. Damn girl, loved the voice. Simon is smoking crack yet again. I am shocked too Randy. Simon is being Scrooge today. Hopefully she shows Simon up in Hollywood. Keep you eye out for Jane. I really think she is Top 24 for sure.

I was so excited when I thought we might have a female rocker going to Hollywood but when I heard Deborah sing, I wanted to puke. Awful, completely awful. This is one time that I am thankful Simon said no. I can’t imagine having to listen to Deborah sing again. Maybe if I closed my eyes like Simon suggested. By the way Randy and Paula, way to piss off Simon. I don’t think he has ever totally left the auditions like he did after Deborah. Maybe he went back to the hotel to get laid.

That wraps up another week of American Idol auditions. A few decent singers were found but we weren’t privy to a lot of the contestants that were put through and that bothers me. I think we should see everyone that was put through to Hollywood. I still find it unfair how certain contestants get more airtime than others but that has always been the case and always will be. Episode 4 will not be posted till later on tomorrow afternoon. I have a lot of work to do in the morning and won’t be at my office till the afternoon. There is a chance I will post the episode first thing in the morning but please don’t count on it. Usually I hit the snooze button to many times and am always late for work as it is.

With the cast of characters American Idol presented to us last week, one can only imagine who the producers will uncover this week in Greensboro and San Fran. Fantasia and Clay are from Greensboro. Could they in fact have the next American Idol? Only time will tell but lets first see the talented and untalented contestants.

I am only posting about some of the auditions tonight since the show is 2 hours and I am not feeling to good tonight

I think I’m in love with Kelly Pickler. What a wonderful voice she has but I am suprised she sang a Kelly song. I thought Kelly was having a fit over her songs being used on American Idol. While she is no Kelly Clarkson she is good enough for me. Paula thought she was adorable only after making her sing a second song and Simon loved her however he thought she was over singing. Pack your bags Kelly. Your off to Hollywood.

I can’t believe Simon liked Rhonda. Again I have to ask what in gods name he was thinking. I guess I am glad Randy and Paula spoke up and shut her out of the competition. Maybe she can come back with Zachary and they can do a duet later in the season.

Paula got a little damp tonight but thats nothing new. She even got to dance with a man in uniform. To bad I didn’t like him at all. The only part of the song he sang well was the chorus. The judges sure liked him and with that Steven David Jr. was put through to Hollywood. Thank god Ryan brought in Steven’s wife before Paula was naked on the judges table.

Halicia was interesting. This chick brought 15 family members with her to the audition and I think they are all straight from the Jeffersons. I kind of liked her but I didn’t like the song she picked at all. But it doesn’t matter what I think. She got the nod and she is in.

Donny needs some help. I was really afraid instead of singing tonight, he was going to tell the world he was gay. Gay or not he destroyed Bridge over Troubled Water. How could anyone sing that after Clay performed it so well. That song should be retired from AI. Singing isn’t for Donny. Guys might be but not singing.

I have to wonder what Kenneth was thinking trying to sing a Whitney song. Do you realize you are a man or are you still confused just like Zachary? Simon was right, I can imagine Kenneth in a dress. Can anyone else? And to think the judges put him through. Again I am lost as to the thinking of the judges. At least Simon realized the lack of potential and said no.

I love the fact that Ryan sang a country song and I am so happy the judges liked it as well. At first I was afraid they would say no since he sang country and not pop but they loved him. My eyes will be fixed on Ryan as I feel he will make it to Top 24.

Paris Bennet also sang a country song and she did awesome. There is something about her that is incredible. Paula was right about her having a totally different singing and talking voice and thats a good thing. If she sang in her talking voice I think she would have scared the judges away. Paris is another one I will be keeping my eyes on this season.

I see a lot of potential in Tyra. A wonderful voice. Simon thought she might not be a star but c’mon look at some of the other people you put through. Tyra rocks half of them. Randy loved the control and they put her through. Another one to keep your eye on.

Jordan the fireman actually worried me when he came in the auditions in his firefighter outfit but damn the boy could sing. I thought he was one of the best males all night but the judges weren’t to sure. Randy thought it was ok and said no. Paula said yes and of course Simon fooled us but said yes. Good job Jordan but please leave your firefighter outfit at home.

So what do we think about Rhonetta ? Is she the next William Hung or were we all to busy looking at her DDD boobs? I know I sure wasn’t. I was afraid for the judges. I thought her breasts might pop out and knock the judges out of their chairs. There really isn’t much else I can say about her. I want to try and be nice this season. But I am sure you guys will have something to say and I am sure we will see her again during the season. Probably on the same night we see Zachary again.

Thats it for tonight. Sorry the review is short but I am already in bed sick. Again we saw a few of the good people but most of the auditions were dreadfull. I guess I am starting to get used to the awful auditions. Leave some thoughts on who you liked, who you didn’t like and those that need their own show with Zachary from last week.

I have added a Chat Room again this season. It is a little different than last season and should be easier to use. There are two options to chat in the chat room and the link is above and in the navigation at the top of the blog.

1) enter a username and click chat (ignore the password and anyone can use this name once you exit)
2) click the register link on the chat window and register your name (only you can use it). Now to chat you need to enter you name and password and then click chat.
**Once you click chat the room will open in a new browser window**

I will be in the chat any night the show is on. Feel free to pass the link along to all your friends and use the room whenever you want. There isn’t an American Idol Chat Room anywhere that I can find. This may be the first one other than forums, so lets spread the word and make this chat huge.

I am putting out this challenge – Lets make this chat so big that I have to upgrade my hosting plan.

There is a lot of talk about the downloading of American Idol Episodes. I have seen a letter from the lawyers of American Idol and they are serious about the piracy of their show. They fear that unauthorized blogs are hurting the image of the show. I disagree completely. I think the internet (blogs, forums) have helped to make the show what it is. I have always said that the contestants of AI should be allowed to blog their experience on the internet. The ability to communicate with the people that will be buying his or her records is vital. But AI is to scared that show secrets will get out and instead ban any forms of posting on the net. Rumor is the contestants are able to read forum and blog postings but are unable to respond. With that said I may be forced to take down the episodes page. I urge you to download the episodes as soon as they are posted as the page may go down without any notice.

I am closing all previous entries to comments and trackbacks with the exception of this one and the two previous to it. Spammers have forced me to do this, plus I get tired of moving comments to the correct posts. There is no easy way to do it in Movable Type.
