Chris Rene Signs With Epic Records

Published on Jan 17, 2012 by in Chris Rene, X Factor

Third place season 1 X Factor contestant is the latest person to score a record deal. This should be an awesome record and I can’t wait for it to release.

American Idol semi-finalists aren’t the only ones getting record deals these days.

Chris Rene, X Factor’s third-place finisher last season, has just told EW exclusively that he’ll be officially signing to Epic Records.

“I’ve dreamt about this moment my whole life,” says Rene. “And now its here. Working with L.A. Reid — ‘Big Homie’ – is a dream come true; he’s a great man,” Rene continued, referring to his X Factor mentor, who also helms the label.

Kelly Clarkson To Sing National Anthem

Published on Jan 11, 2012 by in Kelly Clarkson

Season 1 American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson has been slated to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on February 5, 2012.

“American Idol” Kelly Clarkson is set to perform at America’s most popular sporting event: the Super Bowl.

Clarkson has been chosen to sing the national anthem before the NFL championship game at Indianapolis on Feb. 5, a person familiar with Super Bowl entertainment plans told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because no announcement has been made. The league is expected to reveal the anthem singer later this month.

2012 Website/Idol Update

Published on Jan 11, 2012 by in Blog News

As many of you already know 2012 is upon us and American Idol is right around the corner. I will still be LIVE blogging all of the audition and performances episodes this year and hopefully Queen Angie will fill in for the results as she has done for so many years now.

There are a couple of important changes to the blog for this season. The first is the shoutbox is no longer on the sidebar. It has it’s own page and you can access it by clicking the SHOUTBOX tab on the navigation bar at the top of the site. Recent Posts and Recent Comments were also removed from the sidebar. I will be looking to put them back in the future.

The second change is logging into the site. The preferred way to login now is via social networking credentials on the sidebar. If you want to login the old way you will need to CLICK HERE and bookmark the page. The link to the old login is no longer on the navigation menu.

I am looking forward to the upcoming season and seeing some of the regulars returning to the site. As always thank you for your continued loyalty and please leave your thoughts or concerns in the comments.
