So based on your pre-performance predictions who do you feel will be in the bottom 3 and who will be heading home? Leave your thoughts in a comment.
Personally I don’t know why everyone is raggin on Jason…he’s better than Brooke simply for the fact she cries all the freaking time for no reason. They have basically the same voice and style with the only difference being appearance and personality. I’d choose Jason over brooke any day. And I think I am alone in the fact that I hated Michael with a passion – his voice sounded like a billy goat. I felt like puncturing my ear drums every note he sang. And it would appear to me that David Archuleta is falling in popularity since he’s been shown. As for Kristy…she can’t sing worth beans and I don’t know how she’s been able to hang on for this long.
I don’t HATE any of the top 10 and think they all have talent. At this point I believe it is a matter of personal taste in music. (IMO) David A’s popularity remains the same per Dial Idol despite some comments. Micheal far from sounded like a “Billy Goat”, he was not my favorite but has talent none the less :em47: Brook crying shows she has emotion. No one is “ragging” on Jason, they are simply stating their opinion on the type of music they like or don’t like,
(much like you just did) or who they are predicting might go home this week, thus the title of this post.:em47: Now back to the title of the post! Top 7 predictions.

I have no idea what to expect this week, but I think Syesha and Carly have the advantage based on the mentor/theme. It will be interesting to see what Brooke, Jason, and Kristy do – or maybe not.

The prettiest idol must include Katherine McPhee. Also Kimberley Calwell, Ryan Starr, Christina Christian. Remember Becky O’Donohue from season 5?

4. Jenny

Unfortnately, I think the bottom three will be whomever the producers want to see in the bottom three. Bottom line. (No pun intended.)

I agree with those who think the producers are going to stick with the boy-girl-boy-girl pattern, so that means ANY of the girls could be in danger. And it also means that Jason will be heading home NEXT week. *sniff*

I love to hate this show yet I hate how I love it!

Hey Driller, I quoted you but it came up all looking like mine. I don’t know why that happened but sorry about that.

6. Roar!

My bottom 3 are : Brooke =[ Jason =[ and Syesha
Hoping to go home : Syesha

at this point however im probably not even going to watch it...too depressed about michael gone. how sad :em28:

And as for prettiest...i think that ryan star was the prettiest in season one. and i really liked nikki mckibbin from season one haahah =]

Why pick a theme just to rip people apart when you tell them NOT to sing songs by this artist. Go figure. :em76:”
Randomx6 says: Mariah has a CD to flog, their ratings are down, She and Randy are buds, what the kids need/want is the least of their worries. I find it interesting that so many contributers to this blog are having the same problem I am, a complete inability to think of songs for teh Idolettes whether because we don’t know Mariah (ME!) or don’t care about her (DrillerAA et al.)

I think Syesha should be safe this week, she’s got the best vocal range to hit Mariah’s notes. Kristy’s been getting better, and I’d regret to see her go… I really think she should be safe as well. Archie’s fanbase is far too strong, so he’ll surely be safe again. So is David C.’s –plus he’s actually good!–.

On the other hand, I’d bet both Brooke and Jason will find it really hard to pull off a strong performance, as their vocal ranges don’t go that far. Carly had a harsh night last week, but she’s a great performer, and I’d bet she’ll surprise us (positively) this week. However, if she doesn’t, she’d be completing the bottom 3.

I agree with Slim that Jason should be the one leaving (FINALLY!), but -as much as I adore her- I think Brooke is going to leave us this week :em16:

10. Bottom 3 Mariah week: Kristy, Jason, Brooke

With the right song, and the deserved last spot (show-closer)Syesha can sail through this week. Then I presume her gone Top 6, but hopefully not.

Kristy or Jason should leave, probaby Kristy, but Jason really is not good vocally. Didn’t mind him at first, but now it’s serious and is getting ridiculous.
Carly, Syesha, David, and David are the only ones who are way up there in the vocal department and 2 of them have been in the bottom multiple times. wrong.

11. DrillerAA

Given AI’s penchant this season for gender equity, I would have to say that the loser of the Diva War between Syesha and Carly will get the cab ride to LAX.
I still don’t understand why, after six years of telling contestants “you ain’t now Mariah, Celene, or Whitney” they actually are using this as the theme.

I pick Jason to leave as well, but if it really is a girl this week…Carly.

13. doriesmom

:em05: I agree with slim on two of the contestants. Syesha and Jason should be in the bottom three. Michael should still be there!! A lot is weighing in this week on the song choice and their performance of said song. But I sure hope America considers their past performances, also!! Who is consistantly good and who is consistantly not as good as the rest. Wake up America and be fair this time. Anyway, that’s just my opinion. Good luck to them all!!

As noted in the song prediction post I have avoided Mariah Carey my entire life. I look at the names of the songs listed in the selection post and scratch my head and go, Huh, never heard that. However why should that stop a prediction. So far, of the remaining 7 only Syesha and Brooke have been in the death spot (Slot 1). ( Amanda, Ramielle and Michael were the others – note Ramielle was eliminated the week after she had the slot).
So, that means Carly, Kristy, the Davids, or Jason should sit there this week. They had a surprise eliminination last week (not a shock but still a surprise) so I doubt it will be the Davids.

Predications: D Cook and Castro surprise everyone with really rad rethinking of a big Mariah song and are the top 2 vote getters.

Carly finally says – the hell with this and lets go of the fear and kills.

My babbling Brooke hides and does a not too hot not too cold just kinda wacky performance.

Syesha overreaches, Kristy reverts and Archuleta (faced with singing a song he hasn’t been doing for years) chokes big time.

Bottom 3: Syesha Kristy and Brooke (because the Arch-Angels don’t care if he messes up (witness Beatles week 1)

Bye Brooke. :em61: :em12:

Logic doesn’t always play a role in the results. I get the strange feeling that we will see another “favorite” get thrown out this week.

This is by far the most difficult week to predict. I have looked for alternative versions of Mariah songs and came up empty which means that a lot of the competitors are in trouble unless they can come up with something on their own.
People really NEED to vote at this point. Nothing should be taken for granted any more.
My computer will be voting hard for Kristy. I promise.
Hope you are feeling better, Slim ! :em19:
I think Kristy will be fine. At this stage of the game, people REALLY need to VOTE. I think people got too comfortable with Michael doing well that they thought he would be safe without their votes. Surprise ! So from now on, everyone needs to vote, vote, VOTE !
And I must say, I think Kristy is the prettiest American Idol Contestant EVER.
Wait, what?! Slim has picked Jason (*swoon) to leave??!! Hmmm, well, he’s not exactly Mariah material, I’ll give you that much. I would definitely not say that he has powerhouse vocals! It will be interesting to see which song he picks and how he adapts it to his style. Wonder if any of Mariah’s songs have ever been sung with a ukelele?
I think Jason has a huge fan base right now. Whether he sings great or mediocre, I’m betting he’s around for a few more weeks.
Dispite my opinion on who may be in the bottom 3, the only people who seem to have a voice suitable for a Mariah-type song are:
Syesha, Carly and Kristi.
They are the only ones who I have heard belt out some serious notes yet. And that’s what Mariah does best.
As for the rest of them, they better figure out a creative twist on a Mariah song because they don’t have the right voice imo. They are either too “soft” or are in a totally different genre.

I would add David A to the list of belters. Otherwise, I totally agree with you.

My top three are:
David A.
David C.
Jason

Kristy (fourth)

Bottom three:
Brooke
Carly
Syesha

Syesha will be going home.

If they can get creative though, they may stand out and get points for being daring.

Should be interesting.

Again, those are not who I think should be the top 3 right now- “just keepin it real dawg” on the theme for this week.

30. I think Syesha will be in the bottom for sure, though I don’t want her to be, UNLESS she gets to go last this week, and if she does great, which she could with the right song. But I feel she deserves AT LEAST top 3 or 4.

31. Lynne

i couldn’t begin to predict songs for this week, so i’ll just go with who i think will be in the bottom 3. i’m going to choose: carly, jason and david c. if things don’t go well, i think that this might be the week jason goes home, unfortunately. :( david c. is probably going to pull out something great, but these are my bare bones predictions!
