When Bush became President, you were, what, 2 years old ? I doubt you paid much attention to anything he had to say.
Yes adults do view things in many different ways. And as a wise man once said “let the little children lead them” (paraphrase)
Then God help us all.

    Who’s Sorry Now lyrics

Download All That Jazz soundtrack – Who’s Sorry Now music

Send “Who’s Sorry Now” Ringtone to your Cell Phone

    Who’s sorry now

    Who’s sorry now

    Whose heart is aching

    Breaking each vow

    Who’s sad and blue

    Who’s crying to

Just like we’ve cried over you

    Right to the end

    Just like a friend

We tried to warn you somehow

    You’ve had your way

    Now you must pay

We’re glad that you’re sorry now

  8.
In reply to several points made:

“Well. sweetie, you see your facts and others will see theirs”…My point is, facts are FACTS, not opinions. Every example I listed about Bush is a fact, not just my personal opinion. Some people may choose not to care about these facts, but they still are true. I am angry and have absolutely no respect for President Bush because he broke laws designed to protect our democracy, and because his actions and policies have brought death and despair to many, many people (and who can anticipate what future disaster lies ahead for our economy…?).
You may have not liked Clinton–he had many personal faults–but nothing he did negatively affected our country and the world in the way Bush has. President or not, Bush is undeserving of respect–he never showed any to the American people.
In comparison, you and others say you “dread” Obama’s presidency. I have plainly stated the facts of Bush’s actions that inspire my contempt for him–Obama has not even been sworn in yet, at least give him a chance before you judge him. Do you have any facts to justify your opinion…?
I don’t debate politics, but I know all the facts on both sides. Bottom line, I am not looking forward to Obama as president. And I am allowed to feel that way without justifying it to anyone else. The end.

    I really AM done now.

Slim, can we close comments now so we can all get back to what we love….IDOL!

This is NOT a political forum so give it a rest. We don’t come here to be berated over our personal feelings and opinions, and do not have to justify ourselves to those who disagree strongly with us. You feel your way, and others feel their way, let’s just agree to disagree and DROP it. You can hammer at your discontent with Bush all day long, but his presidency is over and so is this discussion.

He bears resposibility for all of this, despite the fact that he said recently in an interview “so what” when asked about the fact that there were really no WMDs or Al Qaeda in Iraq prior to the U. S. invasion. I know it’s pointless to belabor, because if anyone refuses to see all this, nothing anyone says will make a difference–but I just don’t understand how anyone can ignore all of these facts..
Totally agree. Bush`s presidency has been like a captain on a ship with 200 mates drilling holes in the boat trying to sink it and everyone expects the ship to stay afloat. I have never seen in all my years how Americans can be so full of hate and lack of support for our president.
Four words: Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter.
More words. In comparison to the treatment they received Bush got nothing but love pats on the fanny
Last words: You have got to give respect to get respect. Bushco didn’t give respect (IMHO)

  26.
The thing that has saddened me most about the state of our Presidency has been the level of disrespect that the media and others have given to the office, whether because of the actions of a standing President (cigar, anyone) or the actions of those surrounding him. Not a single one of us knows the degree of stress, fear, pressure, knowledge, material and so on that each one of our Presidents have had to wade through on a daily basis. Every President who comes in inherits the very problems he has promised to try to solve. The party line has been another source of sadness for me. When will we return to the idea of Statesmen – where it was the country that you furthered, not your party? I wasn’t an Obama fan, but I wish him the best.
I agree, Amy. GWB just looked so tired last night. He’s aged so much in the past few years. I can only imagine the stress involved every day in being the President.

Today Congress finally passed the bill funding SCHIP, the bill funding state health care programs for children, that was vetoed twice by Bush. I’m not “sad.” I’m sad. I will miss President Bush and Laura as my president. I hate the Bush bashing that has gone on since everyone turned on him shortly after praising him during the 9/11 thing. But it’s much more than that, ok? I understand both sides, I just don’t agree.

There’s a laundry list of reasons why I don’t care for Obama. None of which I will list here. I’m not in the mood for hashing it out because I went through all that during the election season.

I won’t try to convince you (that’s a general ‘you’) to like or respect Bush or any other politician so don’t try to convince me of the greatness of Obama. I’ve heard it all before and I’m not impressed.

I guess we can’t all see things the same way. Kind of like while watching Idol. :)

I don’t envy the multitude of issues that Obama is going to be expected to solve. I don’t think Obama or any man can resolve all of the issues facing this country in four years, eight years or even twelve years.

I don’t think Bushco was inept just ept in all the wrong directions.
I totally agree about the difficulties of the next 4/8/12 years and no one person being able to resolve them. I do worry that my young relatives and their college friends (the Obamaniacs) will become disillusioned when it turns out that everything isn’t better in 6 months.

I also agree that we don’t expect enough of ourselves but would add that the system is so rigged against 90% of the people and so rigged in favor of the governing class (as particularly represented by the outgoing P and VP) that discouragement has become epidemic. Just as we don’t expect enough of ourselves we don’t expect enough of our neighbors and our public servants. (IMHO)
