I thought he was just trying to stay positive, not be cocky. I don’t think he came off as full of himself at all, just trying to stay confident. And what he said at the end about how it’s not the end of the road for him I think was more of him staying positive. He took it well, he didn’t look shocked really. IMHO.
And I do think their (Danny & David H) sexuality did influence their departure somewhat, but more as a ‘contributing factor’ than an all-encompassing one.

I just don’t see sexuality being an issue, at least not this time.

Someone this evening blogged that David had a wife or girlfriend, and AI showed at least one photo of him snuggling with a pretty lady who looked wife-ish or girlfriend-ish.
Although he danced for “mostly male clientele”, I don’t think that’s an indicator that he’s gay so much as an indicator that he knew an astronomically paying job when he saw one! He just didn’t come across as gay to me, but I am a heterosexual female so maybe my gaydar doesn’t work.
David and Danny are gone because they were unimpressive.
David H had a “shark stare” and little personality on stage. He picked a song in which he couldn’t hit the high notes and left that to the back-up singers. For whatever reason, he didn’t have the fanbase to keep from going home. I thought it was a toss up between him and Kristy Lee Cook.
I just don’t see sexuality being an issue, at least not this time.
Danny being so “in your face” and over the top may have contributed to his demise, but that’s his fault.
No Archie was not in the bottom 3 where he belonged.
