Really? The goodbye song would make you stop watching the show?
Wow. I don’t like the song (Underwood and Crue don’t fit well for me) but you know, I can mute the sound if it really bothers me. If a bad song was enough to make me stop watching Idol, William Hung, anyone?

So you’re not going to watch 40 hours of AI because of a 30 sec song bite? For 11 shows, that works out to about 5 1/2 minutes.

    Seems rather harsh. :wassat:

Powerful song by a powerful singer. Love it! It is well suited for the show too, loaded with drama.

I like Carrie’s version of this, but got to go with my gut on this – the best goodbye song is still going to be “Na na na na / na na na na / hey hey hey / goodbye”, with the judges and remaining contestants thumbing their noses. Oh okay, yall know I’m just kidding.

  10. Woo hoo! Thanks, Slim! I really, really like this song!!

Na na na na / na na na na / hey hey hey / goodbye
If **I** said something like that, I’d get lambasted!!

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll…you always have to consider the source (he said going out on a limb).
Man…where is my “flippin the bird” smiley when I need it??
Nobody wants to pick a fight with lil’ ol’ me? *sniff* Anybody got some feathers I can ruffle?
That’s ok, Amy…I’ll take the bashing and you can stay your sweet lil self.

umm can i say i prefer daughtry that was not my style

  22. Jennifer

I loved it. Carrie really did well. Cannot wait to hear the whole song. She was always my favorite idol contestant, so any song she sings I am going to love.

  23.
WOW, I want the whole song, dang that sounds good :cheerful:

    She did Motley Crue Proud
I do, too!

  24. randomx6

Need to reserve final judgment until I hear the whole song but my initial response is:

    1. I am sure Motley is glad for the $ at least;
    2. Sounds like a low rent Linda Ronstadt circa 1973. (Yeah I am that old and older).

  25. Justin

Lol.. that doesn’t really sound like an Idol farewell song. The lyrics yes, but the song? not really. but ok

  26. Jimmyohyeah

:ermm: Carrie is, by a country mile, my favorite contestant ever on American Idol, but this doesn’t work for me. It’s almost sacrilegious.

  27. ABB

Parting on a note like that has got to cut the pain at least a little.

  28. rachel

I just love it ! She has such a BEAUTIFUL voice.

  30. Well, that was one of my favorite songs back in 1987…or sometime around there. :) Anyway, I think Carrie’s version sounds great and it’s a perfect song for the goodbye montages.
