Simon Building New Home

Published on Jan 3, 2009 by in Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell is building a £10 million home in Barbados. American Idol’s #1 judge just purchased a 10 acre site and the new house will feature mirrored walls in the bedroom, a swimming pool and a helipad.

[note]No expense will be spared. It will have all the latest gizmos and boy toys. Cowell has been very specific when it comes to what he wants and insisted on the mirror panels in the bedroom. He thinks they will be hilarious and can’t wait to show them off. “Simon will be personally overseeing the whole building process.” Simon is “in love” with the Caribbean island, and already owns a £5 million house there.[/note]

I can’t wait to see Simon’s new pad. Maybe it will be shown on MTV Cribs. Of course once complete and when pictures leak I will post them.

Who wants to have to clean mirrored walls?! Just the slightest brush against them and you have smudges. Obviously Simon has never had chores, because any KID who’s had chores will tell you to forget the stuff that adds work! But maybe it’s only mirrored ceilings.

“Boy toys”?? Ummm, Simon plays with little boys??? Or does this mean blow-up Barbie dolls?

Simon should probably plan on spending about 50% more than his budget. :cwy: For one thing, everything will have to be imported. It’s on an Island and you can’t just run down to Home Depot or Lowe’s to pick up a few pieces of hardware. Then there is the “pain in the butt” factor, because I am sure he will be a thorn in the side of his builder throughout the entire process.

Why am I not surprised that mirrors are in the plans for this house?
Now wouldn’t he be a fun client to have to build a house for?

Mirrored ceilings I can understand, they serve a very entertaining purpose. But what say ye is up with the mirrored walls? I mean, even if you lean on them you still have no good view. So what is left besides maybe saving energy?
