Move over Elton John and Paul McCartney, rumors are abundant that Simon Cowell will be knighted during the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Simon Cowell is being lined up for a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
The Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor judge, 50, is expected to be dubbed “Sir” for his charity work and generating millions for the British record industry.
“Simon has always joked he’d be last in line for a knighthood. But, deep down, it’s his dream.”
He was unavailable for comment last night. But in a Mirror interview last year, he put his chances of being a Sir at “below zero”, saying: “I never did all this to get a knighthood. I am very lucky to do what I do and feel privileged.”

I thought they only threw shoe’s at Presidents.
I think Simon will should hold out for King.
Well, they knighted Mick Jagger and most consider him a low life, in fact Keith Richards laughed at Mick for a year for doing it.. Elton John and Paul MaCartney are other rock stars who have also have been touched by the sword.
I am prone to wonder what constitutes someone to be knighted. Clearly there are different reasons.
I think it is commendable to give a lot of money to charity.
Most Philanthropists give away almost all they earn personally after gaining so much in cash and assets, to charity.
Is Simon a true philanthropist? Maybe? If so then more power to Sir Simon Cowell.

I agree,,except for the knighting being silly…Silly for America, perhaps, but not England…what finer way would they award a great contributor to the betterment of their country. I hope he gets it..I have always respected Simon’s opinion..it is his arrogance that makes me want to throw a shoe at him…Being Sir Simon, is really going to swell his grateful head,.I hate saying “It is the English Way”, as an excuse for his behavior,,but I guess it is..But still, at times, I find Simon very charming.
Despite his public judge persona, I like Simon and I think he has a really big, soft heart. He lets it show occasionally and I love it. I think the whole “knighting” thing is silly, but, hey, if the Queen wants to knight him, so be it.
