David Cook nailed it! I love the song and I like the guitar thingy….

2. soju

Luke is sooooo going home! Wham?? Uh, yeah …. :em62:

Chikizie will probably go, too. I don’t see how he’ll pull off that song. Subbing “woman” for “man” in that song may be a bit awkward ….

3. The Huny

So, I’m thinking outside the box here. Just throwing these out there.

David C. sings Hurts So Good
David A sings The Greatest Love,
David H sings “Father Figure”
Luke sings Every Breath you take
Chekezie sings Celebration
Danny Sings Rebel Yell :P
Jason Castro sings We Built this City
Michael sings Always something there to remind me

Kristy Sings What About Love
Brooke Sings Open Arms
Carly Sings Call Me
Kady sings Tainted Love
Ramiele sings The Rose
Amanda sings Bette Davis Eyes
Asia’h sings What’s Love got to do with it
Syesha Everytime you Go away.

Have fun watching everyone!

LOL Driller! I just listened to it again too and was reminded how darn good she was/is.

Thanks Slim, you are the :em71:

Damn after hearing that again, I wanted to pick up the phone and vote again for her.

7.
Slim do you have a link to Carrie singing “Alone”?
Here ya go :)

Slim do you have a link to Carrie singing “Alone”?
I remember that performance. Carrie handled it effortlessly. And ‘Heart’ songs are much like Whitney-Mariah-Celine songs in their complexity.
Agree

I am hoping that it is Kady that sings “What about Love” and she nails it. After hearing other songs that she has done I know that it is possible for her.
The one exception that stands out in my mind is Carrie Underwood singing “Alone” by Heart. She nailed it! :em63:

I agree Driller, especially the songs that have been played to the point of the audience knowing each note by heart. There is no winning, the contestant will only fall short. The one exception that stands out in my mind is Carrie Underwood singing “Alone” by Heart. She nailed it! :em63:

Slim do you have a link to Carrie singing “Alone”?

11. Maybe so. But that is one contestant out of 100, so the odds of success are not in the favor of the one who thinks they are the next Whitney/Mariah/Celene. I haven’t seen any of these contestants do anything that would lead me to believe they can tackle such a song. One of them tried it last week and it didn’t work very well. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not even a fan of these three divas, I just don’t think it’s a good idea for an AI contestant to try on one of their songs. If much of your success on the show depends on song selection, then one would be well advised to stay away from a power ballad by power diva. The odds of success are just not very good.

12. ABB

Although, didn’t Jennifer Huston sing a Whitney song and totally own it? Seems like I remember her doing one of those. She was my favorite that season and it was all sour grapes when she got voted off.

13.
I think Rebel Yell is David Cook
That was actually my first thought.

14. I was making up a list as a joke that included three Paula Abdul songs from the 80′s but this list has several jokes of it’s own. Rebel Yell, Father Figure, Celebration, and Greatest Love of All are all potential career ending performances for someone.

One last time contestants…don’t sing a Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, or Celene Dion song, unless you actually are Whitney, Mariah, or Celene. You don’t have the range, power or maturity for it. These songs need to be removed from the catalog.

15. ABB

I think Rebel Yell is David Cook

16. Who picked “Rebel Yell”? If it was Amanda, there is no need for her to show up Thursday for the results. Maybe Danny Norieiga is trying to show his “edgey” side. There are several songs on this list that I don’t understand, and could be a train wreck for the contestant.

17. Lefty2k3
Amanda – Bette Davis Eyes
David A – Open Arms
Michael – Hurts So Good
Syesha – Whats Love got to do with it
Chickeze – Celebration
Jason – Everytime You go away

That’s all I can guess……some of those were on my original song list :em19:
I like your choices, Amanda doing Bette David Eyes could potentially be her best week, the melody is at a good spot in her range, and can be played with a lot. David A doing “Open Arms” is predictable but still good!
Anyone who picked Celebration is out. No doubt that song was picked for them, no one in their right mind would pick it.

18. pinoyidol

i Think ramielle will sing greatest love of all. :em46:

on tina turner song its Asiah

19. tim.m

Hoping for:
Carly – What About Love
Ramiele – What’s Love Got to Do With It
It’d be cool to hear Carly sing a Heart song the second week in a row! I’m not too sure about Ramiele’s choice. Very tough song choices to me. Gee, wonder who’s gonna sing Rebel Yell, LOL.

20. Dr. Electro
David Cook sings Tainted Love, Hurts So Good or Every Breath You Take. Is there a worse song choice than Celebration?
Could be. But from this list, probably not. Hurts So Good is a pretty awful song in its own right. Father Figure really sucks and Tainted Love is crap without the electronic enhancements of Soft Cell. That said, Celebration still sinks to the bottom.

I hope Brooke sings What About Love and really belts it out. i hope Ramiele does What’s Love Got To Do With It?

22.

Slim, do you know the answer as to who is singing what?
Nope, it will be a surprise to me as well. Of course if the information becomes available, I will post it.

BTW – thanks for the donation today. I happened to login into my paypal account and saw it :)
Oh, ok. I thought you were just being cruel by not posting the answer!!

You’re welcome. It’s for the shoutbox. That got on my nerves last week, as you know!! Thanks for all you do. I know it takes up a ton of your time.
