Hello, my lovelies! Here we are, ready to see who leaves us from the Top 18 dancers. I’m sad because I am afraid some of my favorites might go. Of course, that isn’t hard because I pretty much like them ALL!
First up, the group dance! It’s set to Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground.” It’s a Mia Michaels piece and I LOVE it! They are all dressed in black and have their faces painted. Look at Mia choreographing a FAST number! You go, Mia! (even though I think you are mean and evil)
After some fun chit chat with the jidges, complete with footage of all those words and phrases from Lil C which they called The Lil C Dictionary of Dance, we get right to the results! (Hello, AI?? Take a cue here!)
Ade & Melissa are up first and after seeing a replay of last night, they are SAFE!!!
Jason & Caitlin and Phillip & Jeanine hear their fates next. After footage of their dancing from last night. Cat let’s them know that Jason & Caitlin are in the bottom 3 and Phillip & Jeanine are SAFE!! Booo! I love Jason and Caitlin!
By the way, Cat looks fabulous in a white suit, tonight! They CAN dress her right when they want to!
Next up is Brandon & Janette and they are SAFE!! Woo hoo! Take THAT, Mia!
Jonathan & Karla and Kupono & Ashley are next. The drama! Who will it be??

Aaaand, Lil C just keeps ‘em coming. He used ‘comfortability’ in his assessment of Kupono & Ashley being in the bottom 3 and it just sounded…wrong. This show is just non-stop entertainment, I tell ya!
Looks like Evan’s brother, Ryan, has gotten his ticket to Vegas for the Fall show. Yipee!! Those brothers RAWK!
Speaking of Evan (who TOTALLY looks like a young Mandy Patinkin to me), he and Randi are up next to find out their fate. Cat says, Evan & Randi are SAFE!!! Yay!!
Now, we are down to Vitolio & Asuka and Max & Kayla. Cat lets us know that Vitolio & Asuka are SAFE!! Yay! I LOVE Vitolio! I love his personality and his dancing! But, that means Max & Kayla are in the bottom!! Booo!!
I am so sad! I don’t want ANY of these people to go! They had all better bring it in their solos.
Next up is another special guest from the world of dance. I have NO idea how to pronounce or spell her name (thought it sounded like Amber something or other) but she is totally awesome!
Caitlin does her solo to Make You Feel My Love by Adele. It’s quite nice. Jason dances to Superman by Robin Thicke and I love it! He was great and not boring and I want him to stay! Ashley’s dance is to By Your Side by Coco Rosie and she is more interesting than Caitlin, I think. Kupono’s solo is to Many Moons by Janelle Monae and while I love him, I think Jason’s was a little better. Oooooh…this all just makes me sad!!
Kayla’s solo is to Walkin’ On Air by Kerli. It’s a lot of leaping but not a lot of substance. I don’t think the jidges will let her go home. Max dances to Footloose by Kenny Loggins and I have to say, I didn’t care for it. But then, I never really care for the ballroom dancer’s solos.
Kristinia Debarge is up next as the musical guest and she lip-syncs it right up. Poorly. Very poorly. I’ll channel my inner Paula and say, she’s very pretty. At least her dancers are a tad better than the ones from last week.
Results time! Nigel says they are NOT unanimous in their votes tonight. He says they’d rather not lose any of the 6 tonight but they must. Nigel goes on to tell Caitlin that she did well, Ashley that her solo lacked substance and Kayla that she packed too much into her solo. But, in the end, Ashley goes home.
Next up is the boys. Jason is told that after and exceptionally strong solo, he is SAFE! Kupono is told he is different and he becomes the characters in his dances and Max is told that he works hard and it is certainly hard to ball room dance for the solo. (kiss of death?) Max goes home.
Well, what do you think? I think I am OK with Max going. At least out of who there was to choose from in the bottom. But I will miss Ashley. I thought she and Kupono had a really great chemistry. I wonder how Kupono & Kayla will do as a couple now? Leave your thoughts in comments!! Until next week…

Simon wouldn’t be either if this were the way that American Idol results went. What they are looking for each week changes depending on who actually ends up in the bottom 3. They got to make sure their favorites don’t fall through the cracks too early because America voted wrong

I’m sad to see Ashley go. She always seemed to be having fun. I’m more surprised to see Max go…he seemed better able to dance outside his genre than Kupono.
