I am truly amazed that Vote for the Worst has picked Archie as their next contestant to support. While Syesha is growing on me lately, I would have thought they would have picked her. While they have some pretty convincing reasons for their choice of Archie, I don’t think it will matter much, as he is bound to win this season.
Leave your thoughts in a comment and lets discuss.

It doesn’t matter if your 17 or 40. Archie does not help his situation at all. He plays into it. I have nothing against him,; he seems like a nice kid. But, seriously, the boy has too many vocal problems to even be in the top 10. His father is probably to blame. I can’t even imagine the pressure he’s under, but, as I said, he’s fair game.
Your quote “I have nothing against him” seems disingenuous considering your previous comments about him in this thread.
I have nothing against him on a “personal level:, but his singing is an embarrassment to anyone with half an ear. If you take voice lessons, which I have, his voice is, on a technical level, horrible. So, what’s wrong with it? His breathing. He doesn’t sing from deep down, where it counts, he sings from the throat. A BIG no-no. His lower register is winy. His overly mannered vocal phrasing is forced, 2 syllables become 3; 4 syllable words become 2; it’s a mess. Emotive excess. Pitch problems in his upper register. A nasal quality to his voice. On a technical level, he has the worst voice of the top 10. Of course, he knows how to play it to lay people, but for those in the know, the boy needs serious voice lessons.
Not a single positive thing to say about his singing? If his singing is that bad, I wonder why people like David Foster and Elliot Yamin, not to mention Simon, Paula, and Randy have praised him? Or why he was chosen to be on American Idol at all? I guess they (not to mention Archie’s millions of fans) aren’t “in the know” and are simply fooled by the way he “[plays] it to the lay people.” Come on, the guy can sing. Maybe not your type of singing apparently, but one doesn’t need to take singing lessons to know that this kid has some great pipes!
Just because something is popular doesn’t mean its good.
True–after all, a lot of terrible cds, books, and movies are bestsellers–but when prominent people in the music business single him out for praise, that speaks volumes about his talent. He’s certainly not perfect (his voice hasn’t even stopped changing yet!) but like Neil Diamond said, he’s a prodigy. So much talent so early, it’s pretty amazing.

OMG, that caricature is too funny… The other option would be ArchD2 as a robot and his Dad holding a remote control.
Now I just wanna sit back and laugh, since I don’t care too much whoever wins.
It’s too late. They can’t claim credit for a win.
If they were going to pick him it should have been after Amanda left or at least when KLC went. But they were so busy hating on Carly that they couldn’t see the forest for the trees.

I totally agree. They either want to try and take credit for his win or they are attempting the kiss of death and are trying to boot him off the show. Either way, what a joke. After all of his hard work, he certainly doesn’t deserve this nonsense. There are no bad or less than deserving contestants at this point. They are seriously looking for attention and seem to be getting their wish.

With three contestants remaining, is there really a “worst,” or at this point is it just a matter of popular opinion who wins? I think you read VFTW wrong. They (the founders at least) LOVE AI (or at least the concept) and are disappointed with what it has become. They are jilted lovers. They actually believed that it would be a talent contest among “true” non-professionals and don’t think AI lives up to what it claims to be. (IMHO).
Some of the folks who post there hate the show but a blog cannot be responsible for who is attracted to it. Some blogs ban, some don’t. It is the owners perogative to do as s/he likes.
Maybe I hear and see things differently, but Archie Suc**. He is a professional talent show contestant. Nothing he does will or could stand up in the real world. Too bad Boy Bands aren’t still in vogue because he would fit the mold of a 2nd rate Boy Band perfectly. In a world of non singers (Ms. Spears please take note) Archie heads the class in one note performances. David Cook, on the other hand (even he is slightly flawed, the Duran Duran cover) has something more than just puppy dog eyes and a breathing problem.
Nobody suc** at this point in the show. They have alll worked very hard and they are 3 very different styles. Congrats to all 3. Might I suggest that you cut out the caffene, take a nap and vote for somebody else. As far as VFTW I believe they have done so poorly this year they are trying to ride the gravy train. They have a 1 in 3 chance of getting this one right.

What exactly does the winner of AI get anyway? Honestly I don’t know and would love to. Besides a record deal with music chosen for them by the studio, is there a cash prize to go with “The Glory”?

I agree with you. The closer we get to the finale, the nastier people become. Every contestant there deserves to be there. They have worked their butts off . But some people feel the need to belittle everyone BUT their favorite, which is sad. It’s a shame some people feel the need to bash a contestant other than THEIR favorite because their own opinions on the type of singing THEY like are different than someone elses.
As far as what they win, I’m not sure, other than a record deal. But I do know that the final TWO each get a brand new Ford car !

I feel bad for Archie. It’s not his fault they pimped him from the start. what’s he supposed to do–say “stop telling everyone I’m a good singer!”? Not taking any position on David A, VFTW, the producers actions, but I am tired of hearing he is 17 so cut him a break. Either he is in the contest on equal footing with the old folks (20, 21, 24, 25) or he shouldn’t be in it. I don’t recall hearing about Jordin (week after week) “oh she’s 17 go easy on her”.
Now mind you, I have never heard DA or his people say any of this but certain segments of the public use it constantly. Either trust the boy or don’t but stop the ‘poor pitful baby David”
I never suggested he be “cut a break,” or somehow treated differently than everyone else. It’s just foreign to me that people take a sadistic pleasure in personally attacking him. Critique his song choice, his range, his stage presence, etc. without the straw-man fallacies. (Okay, maybe I feel especially protective of him because he looks like he’s twelve, but for the record, I didn’t like it when people used Jason, Brooke, and Carly for their personal punching bags either.) There’s just so much hate lobbed against him constantly, I feel like I’m back in high school watching the gossips verbally peel the skin off someone.

Hey Weetam, what’s with all the hate? So many Cook fans seem to feel the need to knock Arculeta in order to boost their favorite up. I for one like both Davids a lot, although I’ll admit that I like David A. better. I just don’t understand why you have so much animosity towards the guy. Okay, you don’t like his music or his style, but if the guy didn’t have any talent, he wouldn’t be in the top three. Grab a stress reliever or something, cause you’re taking this competition way too seriously!

Totally agree with Angie that it’s become ridiculous.
The whole point supposedly in the launch of VFTW was to steer the results off of those people that the show was promoting as front runners. This is VFTW’s first mistake this year-EVERYONE knows that ARchie has been pimped as the front runner all year.
Secondly, VFTW went on and on and on about how the show chose professionals, “stacking” the contestants so that they would have a good season-YET here VFTW is doing the exact same thing. They KNOW Archie is the front runner and have just put him next to try to validate their own relevancy. THUS doing the EXACT same thing that idol did this year.
VFTW isn’t fun anymore-it’s kind of just stupid.
I’m tellin y’all……..go back and check VFTW’s record since Krispy Kreme was eliminated…….they have been the freakin Kiss o Death! Baby Davey may be SOL!
Brilliant. Give the kid MORE votes – that’s what he needs. Thanks, VTFW! Me and David Cook are gonna come to your house and leave flaming poop in a bag on your front porch! *scowl*
It’s not going to make a difference. It never has.
VFTW is becoming more & more irrelevant. It\’s tough to promote spite & negativity for a sustained period of time. Except for the few hardcore haters people just can\’t get behind it and though it\’s popular in bursts it has to fade. VFTW IMHO has jumped the shark long before AI. Their last gasp at credibility is taking a shot at Arch so they can hang on in a \”Me too! Me too!\” kind of way.
maybe this is quite advantageous on david A, those who are supporting VTFW will definitely vote for him. thus, increasing his chance of winning the AI.
VFTW is so ridiculous. More and more so every year.

I believe that they would do just about anything to get a rise out of people. Earlier in the season I read on their website that David Cook was the only one of the contestants left that was not a “plant” for them to boost their ratings this year.
I don’t always agree with VFTW but they are pretty funny…..they could go with any of the remaining three and have plenty of reasons to support them (just a down season I think). I’m hoping that this puts Archie ahead of Cook in the finale.
Oh, noooooooooo! VFTW has been the freakin KISS of DEATH the last few weeks! What ever will AI DO if their pre-packaged David Squared finale gets effed up?????????????
no biggie. even though they dont support archie, he will win. and take note. he is not the worst singer. what is there problem? there A@#$&^%$E
It’s too late. They can’t claim credit for a win.

Archie, of the three, is, by far, the worst. He is a puppet. Granted, he has a slightly better than average voice, it is however, nothing special. As a vocalist he has many flaws: a serious breathing problem, a “winy” lower register, a limited upper register, no rock sensibility; he is a middle of the road vocalist only capable of ballads (let’s not forget the hatchet he took to “we can work it out”). As a performer, for a seasoned talent show contestant, he has no style. Same hand movements, same licking of the lips, it’s almost funny to watch him. In reality, contrary to what fans might think, he has limited talent. David Cook is the only real vocalist/performer.
That’s wierd. I wonder if they picked a sure thing so they can say they ‘helped’ him win. :cwy:
That’s the first thing that came to my mind.
That is wierd…but maybe since all their other picks have been voted off…they are trying reverse psychology…and hoping that by picking him it will get him voted off.
That’s wierd. I wonder if they picked a sure thing so they can say they ‘helped’ him win. :cwy:
Oh god, I can’t believe David Archuleta is the vote for the worst pick. Never in years at the beginning of this thing would I think he’d end up there..wow! That is kinda sad…I’m surprised they still do it at this point in the comp.
