Sources all over the net are saying Paula won’t be back after 8 seasons on the judges panel.
“She’s not a happy camper as a result of what’s going on. She’s hurt. She’s angry,” David Sonenberg, the “Idol” judge’s manager, told the newspaper on Friday.
David, who said that he became Paula’s manager just weeks ago, at the end of June, added that he has yet to receive a proposal for a new contract for Paula.

I don’t care how much they get paid…ALL celebrities are overpaid. That is not ever going to change. For selfish reasons, I want them all to stay (except CAR-uh who I don’t hate, I just think she was a pointless addition.) because I want the show to stay the same. I LOVE AI and the judges make the show what it is, IMO. The singers are just gravy. Of course I complain a little about the yo dawg for you for me, Pauler babble and Simon’s mean streak, but I love all of it.
Pay Pauler and leave the the show the way it is! Because I said so!!
QUOTING LEE——–I don’t know how my quote ended up being everyone else’s…but, I want to say…”bravo to Lee” and my hasn’t this been an interesting opinion filled blog over Paula…l guess time will tell… :silly:

Simon and Paula and Ryan, all so sure of their popularity, are holding out for the big bucks…so, where does that leave Randy? Is he the one original that the show can do without?? Will he stand for the others to take home the big money while he goes without a raise…this may not be the end of all this…..The show is about the talented young people,, the judges can be interchanged.. you may not like it. I think someone like Peirs Morgan could step right into Simon’s role and we would be just as happy…we might miss Paula for one season…but, if it truly is about the singers, we would adjust….we are replaceable in the business world..I am personally tired of Paula’s ramblings and Simon/s hateful nature..I would like to see something new and fresh. Personally, I hope she goes.
I completely agree! The show is not called “Judging Idol” It should be about the talent PERIOD
Like it or hate it only one talent competion/realityshow breaks talent like Kelly, Carrie, Hudson, Daughtry, Pickler, Sparks or Cookie. Many people would say that SYTYCD or America’s Got Talent or (fill in your choice here)are better talent shows and they probably are BUT who else makes stars and millions of $ for various entertainment companies? American Idol is te only gorilla in the field! Since the cast is different every year it must be the regulars (especially Simon, Ryan and Paula – IMHO) who bring us back or else we would have stopped watching after Season (insert your worst most untalented boring season here).
Larry Curly and Moe could do their slapstick comedy while critiquing the contestants on A I and do a better job. You know what Paula, Randy,Simon and Kara are going to say before they even open their mouths. None of them are irreplaceable,IMO. In fact the more I think about their ridiculous salaries the more I want to see them replaced. Most all the celebrity coaches are far more insightful to the songs and contestants then any of the current judges. For big bucks I for one would rather see big names in the music industry. lets rotate famous singers and entertainers from season to season and break this boring repetitive predictable dialogue of these overpaid under imaginative self righteous greedy deadbeats.

I dunno about that – with Nigel gone they’ve made some odd decisions. He may have been more important to the show’s success than people think.
I’m with CB on this one, I think Nigel may have been the only one with a brain and some self control when it comes to the financial side of the show. Everyone else is ready to just take the money and run! I seriously doubt if Simon or Ryan care whether or not their greed will eventually bankrupt the show.
Well, at $141M for Simon and $45M for Ryan, I would not suggest that it is ALL about the contestants. This is starting to look like an Obama bailout!

So true Starshine, I couldn’t agree with you more.

So true. I could not agree more.
It’s not my contract (or money) but PLEASE don’t leave Paula!
I sure hope she will be back, as much as everybody pokes a little fun at her, she is really vital to the show
I think her new manager is just posturing. Looks like a ploy for more moolah.

Dear Ms. Abdul:
“Do not overrate what you have received, nor envy others. He who envies others does not obtain peace of mind. .”
Hope it is not true and seriously hope her new mamanger doesn’t overplay the hand and leave her without a job. AI is not the same without Paula.
I think she will be back. I would bet this is a money issue and I think the show will make her happy. She is a HUGE part of the show. I hope she does come back.
I concur
I think she will be back. I would bet this is a money issue and I think the show will make her happy. She is a HUGE part of the show. I hope she does come back.
